BB gets around the "oh that's too easy!" complaint by casting actual degenerates -- people so amazingly stupid, so incredibly ignorant, so out of place in a sophisticated social echelon, and so low on the evolutionary ladder, that spending two months alone with them is torture enough.

Put it this way: if I had to starve, do physically-demanding challenges, sleep in a damp, cold "shelter" and not have proper access to soap or water for a few weeks on Survivor OR spend a summer with Lydia and Natalie, believe me, the former would seem like paradise by comparison.

That's a decent explanation, and I'll buy it for Danielle, but Candace was generally DESPISED on her season (by fans) and the show's narrative was clearly constructed to position her as "bad" in opposition to the "good" Aitu clan. I just don't see how she can in any way be considered a hero. And this has nothing to do with my personal dislike for her; I hate Rupert for example, but I know that he's popular with fans (ugh) and so there was never any doubt that he would be on the "hero" team. That one makes sense to me, but Candace is just a head-scratcher.

I know exactly what you mean but hero or villain, Candace is just bland TV, and bland Reality TV at that. Oh and I completely agree re: Rupert. He's truly worn out his 15 minutes. Time to move on, big guy.

Many of the people on this season don't fit in with the theme. I agree Candice should have been on the villains tribe I was surprised that she was on the heroes. Danielle and Parvati also don't fit the theme, I don't see them as a hero or a villain.

What I find stupid is that Probst gave reasons for Parvati being on the villains tribe due to how she played in Micronesia, but Amanda and Cirie were in her alliance and pretty much made all the same moves but are considered heroes.

I really Really enjoyed the premiere, too bad Sugar was the first to go.

I don't understand their gameplay tho. They ALL know that Cirie is a dangerous player, the all know there's already alliances, and they vote one of the only player that never played with anybody in the tribe, a player who cannot do anything in the challenges, and who is easily beatable after the merge... I'm assuming some of the heroes won't go very far with that attitude. I mean Come on !! it's an all stars. Egos Vs Egos... people want to win no matter what... and SUgar is the only player to play for fame and not to win... LOL

I liked the russell segment, the topless challenge, but the opening theme is pretty lame tho

I don't mind coach either which is weird coz I hated him

Rooting for: Stephenie, JT, Russell, Tom, Candice and B. Rob

Disliking: Sandra (sorry folks), Tyson, Randy, Amanda, James

Man...I've been saying stuff like that for six years running. They need to change the scenery...put them in the Rockies or northern Russia during the summer. Fuck this beach stuff. I want the possibility of someone getting mauled by a bear, or have a team devoured by wolves during the night. You know, actually see them surviving. The show's title is such a misnomer...

I've never once tuned in with the hopes of seeing people struggle against the elements. That is boring and the reason why I don't watch Man vs Wild.

I'll combine blacksyringe and falconfan and say that I don't care to watch people struggle against the elements either, but I'd pay anything to see Jeff Probst get mauled by a bear.

Yea actually dont like seeing how hard the conditions are. I hate seeing them suffer with bugs and infections and even injuries. I'd prefer no injuries. It's so not worth it to compromise your health for a game.

That's why I was disappointed with the first episode. Tom & Stephenie were on the right track about targeting Cirie and Cirie was right about going after Stephenie and breaking up her alliance with Tom.

Exactly. She's useless, she can't win because people don't like her so keeping her around wouldn't hurt anyone. Sugar's expendable and when you didn't need her anymore, you'd cut her loose.

Exactly! As fans we complain about the brand new players and their bonehead decisions YET here are the vets making the same mistakes. Not good!

Pffft. Not after the sun goes down. At least not in "the Rockies" or "northern Russia". Unless Survivor was to change the rules so that the players could be well equipped during day and night, I don't see them going to such places. Heck, they're already pampered way too much in all the beach environments.

No the scene with Parv was more similiar to the Nat/Russ edit in the beginning of last season.
