Survivor 20: Heroes Vs. Villains [Official Thread]

You actually right
I've just rewatched Samoa 1st ep and he said the exact same lines to Ashley "We did it since day 1..."
My bad

I'm about to watch episode 1. I promised myself I would get into Survivor this time around.

Aratron's spoiler (thanks btw) potentially confirms my fear that this is going to be a Russell-centric season...again.

And if that's the case, I look forward to a full redo. Including another satisfying loss in a jury vote at the end. Certainly wouldn't mind seeing that twice.

You realize that comment on spoilers in open forum completely negates the purpose of hiding the spoilers.

Alright, I have to head to bed soon but I watched right up to the challenge and my top favourites are Sugar and James.

Sugar won me over from fighting with no top and James had me at the sight of his upper body. I'm am very rarely into black guys but I just want to massage James.

Who's the villain with the gold chain? Can't stand him, not even worth remembering his name.

From what I remember it's not going to be like Samoa

I like Stephanie! She doesn't have much game but damn if she hasn't learned a few things since her season. She correctly perceived that Stupid-Rupert had it out for her, she correctly realized her best option was to not give him a reason to call for her ouster, and she correctly read that blowhard's self-aggrandizement to tell us that Rupert was probably threatened by the fact that she was also one of the most popular survivors (and we all know that's the one title Rupert desperately needs to cling to).

She's probably toast tonight because of Dumbass James' "reasoning", but whatever the result, I'm liking her a lot for being smarter this season AND for correctly perceiving what an asshole Rupert really is (and has always been).

James had me at the sight of his upper body. I'm am very rarely into black guys but I just want to massage James.

James will always be the most disappointing Survivor for me; it's too bad such a hot SEXY body (really, it's one of the best bodies I've ever seen!) is attached to such a self-righteous prick of a personality.

Boston Rob is a reminder of how good villains USED to be on this show. And of course now Russell -- the current incarnation of everything that's WRONG with current Survivor Villains -- is deathly jealous of Boston Rob.

Survivor SAT analogy:
Russell is to Boston Rob, as Rupert is to Stephanie.

I doubt he'll be successful but MAN I am loving Tom more right now than I ever did on his season. He correctly called out James in his voice-over AND he wants to form an alliance that will temporarily benefit my favorites (Cirie/Stephanie/Colby) -- OK I don't like Candice, but I'll take her to keep those three safe -- and that move will then weaken the people I could care less about.

I would love for his plan to work because I'm so over Amanda (and her presence only helps James/Parvati/Russell). But of course, I doubt it will.

EDIT: Aaaand of course, they didn't go for it. Sigh. I guess Colby and Tom are now screwed. And GOD I hate James. "Keep your mouth shut." What an asshole!

I never liked James, but I really hated him this episode he is such a douche. Sad to see Steph go, I was rooting for the Tom/Colby/Steph alliance.

The Heroes tribe is pretty stupid, they are risking all their games by letting the Micronesia alliance get further in the game. It is obvious that there is a Micronesia alliance and they will control the game if they go deep especially if they all make the merge.

I was rooting for Tom/Steph and Colby as well and am disgusted by James. Funny how he's considered a hero

I also have to congratulate Cirie for making her first mistake in the game:

she went against Tom, now she will pay for it

I kinda wanted Steph to stick around. But her and Tom were certainly gunning for Cirie and I cant have that. If Cirie got booted first I would definitely want Steph to win in the end. WHile Steph was better I think she relied on Tom too much and didnt make enough moves for herself.

I dont get all the James hate. I dont like the guy but he's not that bad imo. He's a simple guy. And by simple I mean dumb. He thinks in black and white and has no sense of strategy. Anyone who is making plans that go against his are automatically bad people and playing dirty in his mind. It's a bonehead way of thinking but no has deplorable as Tyson and Russell.

Aratron, I thought the same thing; I just have a feeling this non-move could bite Cirie in the ass. Why on earth would she wanna keep the Amanda/Parvati/James post-merge alliance intact?

Aijalon, maybe I missed something but weren't Tom and Steph trying to work with Cirie? (I had guests over while Survivor was going on, and I wasn't watching that closely, so maybe I missed something) Also, James has always been a condescending dick. He talks down to women all the time. The way he spat out "Shut your mouth" when she said her closing remarks to them was vile; it's the emotional equivalent of saying "cunt."

And I don't think anyone's defending Tyson or Russell. Certainly not me. I hate those two bastards. Throw Randy and Rupert in there too.

No that is true but I think Tom's deal with Cirie was completely BS and he was still out to get her. Tom has admitted she is the most brilliant competition and his top target. i dont believe he ever really intended to leave that alone. That's just my opinion and I think Cirie knew that too.

I think you're right and that's probably why Cirie did what she did (she's the best player of all time, so I have to trust her instincts) but I have a feeling she's still screwing herself over by letting the Amanda/James/Parvati contingent get one step further.

And I really hate that those three get to play together AGAIN. I mean is anyone in a better position than Parvati in terms of old-relationships? She's played with James/Amanda/Cirie, she's best buds with Amanda, AND she's played with Candice on her original season. And she's apparently met Courtney before the new season started.

I cant stand Poverty. She's so annoying and thinks she's so smart and sexy. NO! on both counts. I thought James was mad at Poverty though? Anywho, i think you might be right. I dont see anyone trying to get rid of her so soon. but we havent seen what the villains thought are in terms of elimination order. So hopefully that ho is at the top of everyone's list.

Sorry Steph sad to see you go but not overly sad really. I don't know what you guys were smoking to make you think that Cirie would turn on Amanda. I mean clearly she's so slick that you actually bought the manure she's been shovelling so very hard. But had you walked up to Cirie and Candace and said you want Rupert gone you might have stood a chance.

All and all you were screwed as you were gunning for my girl on day one and she was gunning right back at you. She knew how to keep her head down. You didn't. That being said I'm surprised as this season is actually making me like Tom, who I hated with a passion. I loved seeing Colby and Tom put James in his damn place. I just really hope I don't lose them soon. I mean can't we cut like Candace or Rupert next? Colby is too pretty to go this soon.

Russel is so damn jealous of Rob that it would be funny if I didn't know that having such a high profile will sink Rob incredibly fast post merge.

Regardless of how it turns out I understand why Cirie made the move that she did. There was no upward movement in that fivesome. At most she could get to fourth. She's got a lot of currency with Amanda. She can spin that girl all around her finger and lets be honest Candace ain't too bright. I honestly think that no matter what Cirie says she and Amanda are incredibly tight. Just the first episode you heard Amanda say in confessional 'this time me and cirie are out for blood.'

Her other option was keeping the Colby/Tom/Stephanie alliance intact. You really think she'd have a better chance of cracking that nut then the knuckleheads she's familiar with? It didn't work out for her last time but only because she planned for a final 3.

Aijalon, maybe I missed something but weren't Tom and Steph trying to work with Cirie? (I had guests over while Survivor was going on, and I wasn't watching that closely, so maybe I missed something)

I think he's referring to last week. Tom/Steph wanted Cirie/Amanda out and Cirie/Amanda wanted Tom/Steph out. As soon as I saw the opening with Rupert being wary of Stephanie I knew that Cirie would've sensed this by now and that Stph was surely on her way. They stopped targeting Cirie only because they needed her temporarily.

And I don't think anyone's defending Tyson or Russell. Certainly not me. I hate those two bastards. Throw Randy and Rupert in there too.

In related news I love Courtney. I need more Courtney commentary.
