Survivor 22: Redemption Island

Yeah, it kind of sucks when the premiere is the best episode of the season. I loved Kristina and "Fransesqua" (--Phillip).

The Pearl Islands premiere also had the shopkeeper who liked Trish... you know, in a sexual way. (Sandra <3)

In PI's case, though, the editing was SO much different than what we get today.

i freakign love sandra lol, and yea the first 4 episodes were good, because it required strategy with the boots of fran, matt, russell, and kristina, and then after that the krista and steph boots were obvious, then the merge episode was the only only good one, other than that the season has been just predictable, this season had so much potential, but the casting it what made this season bad in my opinion.

i mean can you really cast ashley, and expect her to make big moves? but this is why i dont like preselected tribes, because it seems like the ometepe tribe was purposely made of mostly followers, and just young dumb players while zapatera was the smart and older tribe not afriad to make moves.

if the zapateras, had decimated the ometepe i think we all would of liked this season more, because they all had thier own brains on that tribe.

Because Pearl Islands you got to know everyone. They all had screen time. Now it is either all villan or all holy man. With the advent of Ressell we got a season of Ressell and then Ressell again and would have been Ressell and Rob had Ressell not been sent away crying like a little girl.

I can see it now. Andrea will come into RI and apologize to Matt for voting him out twice, and Matt will accept her apology. If he does that, he is truly an idiot.

Mike is an idiot. The other tribe voted out Matt twice, and the 2nd time they didn't have to even vote out one of their tribe members. What makes you think that they aren't going to vote for you if you come back from RI? That was a dumb ass move I think.

I don't have any problems with the contestants being religious. It isn't any more or less annoying than the usual types they have on the show.

I have a problem with Matt's edit because there's literally nothing to his portrayal beyond his religion - he's a total caricature. And when somebody could actually win Survivor when he admits that "he'll go only as far as God wants him to," I have a problem with him as a Survivor player AND potential winner. It's almost like he believes God is playing Survivor instead of him.

Tina, Vecepia, Danni and Natalie White were all Christian winners that had their faith brought up on the show but they weren't restricted solely to the religious aspect of their personalities and, although many of the them were low-key winners, they also didn't leave their game in the hands of "God."

Good point but that's Matt's role just as being ghetto was NaOnka's and dude-ish was Fabio's. If there was no religion, there would be no Matt storyline and they'd be scrambling to come up with edits to fill in the RI portion of the ep.

Based on the first segment of the show, I predict that Ashley goes tonight and Matt re-enters after beating Mike, Andrea and Ashley at RI during the first part of the finale.

The sad thing is that even if somebody besides Ashley goes tonight, I still don't care because this season is so blah.

Well Ashley did not go and Grant did. HaHa on that. So glad Ashley won immunity and sent Rob into a tailspin but that group is as dumb as Philip's rants because no one, not a single one suggested getting rid of Rob. That is way too stupid.

Technically, Ralph was the one to go. Grant did not go. He is still in this game as much as anyone else that is not already in the jury. Only one person in the existing "final four" can make it to the final 3. Likewise, only one person from the four on RI can also make it to the final 3. Seems to me everyone is still on equal ground.

On a side note, Grant has the hottest legs.

Grant has the hottest everything this season, but unfortunately it's pretty obvious that he won't win the duel because he's been such an afterthought for this entire season.

And I swear, if Rob makes it to F3 and loses to any of these morons, I'm calling bullshit, if not on the jury then at least on the editing for making us think that the Omepetes all hate each other except Rob. From what we've been shown so far, Rob did not play like a goat who should lose this year. All of his cockiness has been restricted to confessionals, and he's self-aware of how he needs to interact with the other players to win. Plus, nobody else but Phillip (who probably has the worst chance to win out of any of the eight left, and isn't likable) has been built up as a legitimately likable non-threat who could win like Natalie White or Sandra were in Russell's seasons.

Yes we know he has a chance to come back but he has 3 very strong players on R I to compete with and so far the only gusto he has shown was in trying to win immunity, and that failed while the people on R I are all fighting hard. I hope he knows how it feels to be bonked in the ass by someone who looks you in the eye and lies like a cheap shag rug.

If Rob is looking good to you then you ned to leave the bar and go home to bed. I always did that when i was cruising, pick the worst and when it started looking good I went home. Even if Rob looked good (ewwwwww) I would still find him utterly distasteful.

Rob is the only one playing the game and no one has even TRIED to take him out. If he loses now to anyone left in the game -- especially someone as dumb, dull and dopey as Matt -- it will be one of the worst outcomes in Survivor history.

Rob's smugginess has made me root for his downfall a lot this season, but I can't fault the guy for playing the best game. It's exactly how I felt about Dr. Will on Big Brother All Stars. He played brilliantly but his dominance made me want to see someone take him down a peg. When Erika finally did it (yes, you heard right, Erika did it, Janelle was just a puppet) that's when I started rooting for her to win. She'd earned it in my book.

But since no one on this season has stepped up to do the honors, I can't root for anyone but Rob at this point. The others all deserve to lose.

And I can see what aijalon means. Rob has never been "hot" in my opinion, but he definitely looks better without the extra flab. He has an endearing impish cat-face and I confess, I'm one of those people who thinks marginally cute guys are made all the more attractive with a Boston accent.
