Survivor 24: One World (Redemption Island is GONE!)

TAR really isn't that great other than people occasionally sucking hard at the challenges. I would watch an episode here and there because my mom watches it, but it never really interested me because travel doesn't really interest me and the teams don't constantly interact.

I did get into this current season, but pretty much ONLY because it had Rachel and her neandertral on it. I get the feeling if I try to watch the next season I won't be interested because Rachel won't be there to provide an episodic dose of histrionics.

Phil is a good host though and his accent helps.

Every week I think its not possible for me to love Kim even more than I already do, and every week she proves me wrong. What a phenomenal player! And in all the right, non-showy ways. With her idol in tow, she's guaranteed a spot in the F4 and she just needs to win that last immunity challenge, and the game is hers.

Make it happen Kim. And join Richard, Yul, Parvati, Boston Rob and Sandra (x2) as the smartest people to ever win this game.

Tarzan's elimination means that we'll be getting our tenth woman to win Survivor at the end of this season (only counting Sandra once). Since they now have enough winners of each gender for a twenty person season, I'd kind of like to see an all-winners edition sometime before the show ends for good.

Then again, it'd probably be like the first All-Stars as an idea that sounds much better on paper than it would be in execution, and there's absolutely NO way Sandra could ever win that. But could Natalie or Vecepia sneak to the end again? Would there be a power couple showdown between Romber and Jethan? Would Parvati round up all the women to take out the guys again and would there be a rivalry between her and Kim (if she wins)? Who would go the furthest out of the dominant winners JT, Tom and Earl? Would Hatch bitchslap Todd for disgracing gays everywhere? Why has nobody written this fanfic yet? >:O

I don't mind the recap so much. Especially now that the main show is wall-to-wall strategizing, the recap does provide the character moments that I used to love getting from the earlier seasons.

I wanted the recap epsiode because it's the only chance they show them full cast intro
oh maybe on finale but if they aint showing on finale, I would cut a hoe!

I used to a die hard of TAR too
but the last time I was rooting for Ethan n Jenna last season and they got eliminated so early
I wanted them to slay the race like Rob n Amber did season 7 and pretty much already on TAR all stars
so it lost my appeal hahaha

I like TAR a hellava lot more than Survivor. The challenges are better, the casting is better and I don't get as sick of the competitors as I do on Survivor. I am just glad Chelsea didn't get the boot last night.

I hope to never see an all star season on Survivor again. I am so sick of them I would shut it dowm completely.

One note of warning though: that last immunity challenge will likely decide Kim's fate. Since she has to play her idol at F5, she's guaranteed a F4 spot and that puts her one immunity challenge away from pleading her case to the jury. But you have to figure if Kim loses that challenge, no combination of the remaining 3 women could possibly be stupid enough to give her a spot in the finals. Chelsea might do it because she plays the friendship game rather than the smart game, but I think any two out of Sabrina/Alicia/Christina would know that Kim is the biggest threat to win. This of course is the inherent problem -- the Cirie problem, if you will -- in playing so well and being a nice person i.e. no one wants to take you to the end.

Now, unlike Cirie, Kim is more than capable of winning that final immunity (she came very close this week even when losing challenges to Chelsea and Alicia) but I'm just saying, that challenge is do or die for her.

Based on the editing I don't see how Kim isn't at FTC. Her story is SO fleshed out and takes such center stage over the other women that she is either going to win it or lose it based on how she handles the jury in the end. Chelsea is kind of in the same boat - she plays the emotional game to Kim's strategic one. I feel they are both in the top two because of this, and it could be a close call, but I don't think any of the remaining four, including Chelsea, have been set up like a Natalie White or Amber to Kim's Russell or Boston Rob.

Sabrina on the other hand has very few connections to the rest of the people who made the merge; I've been predicting that she goes out fourth as sort of the robbed person who gets taken out before the finals. Alicia and Christina are kind of interchangeable - either one could be dumped in fifth place or get zero-votes at FTC, but since Christina's story has been such an afterthought for the entire season, and since Alicia is usually portrayed in a strategic but vile light, Alicia is probably in the finals.

So yeah, I'm going with this prediction going into the finale on Sunday:
5th - Christina
4th - Sabrina
3rd - Alicia (0 votes)
2nd - Chelsea
1st - Kim

3rd -- Christina (0 votes, natch)
2nd -- Chelsea (1 vote, bitter Kat)
1st -- Kim (8 votes).

Even though I think Alicia will be there instead of Christina, I hope Christina makes the F3 instead because it'd be FUNNIER! Especially if she somehow pulled a Phillip and got a pity vote to get second place out of nowhere. Work that unkillable cockroach mojo, Cha-Cha.

It would also be the ultimate FUCK YOU to the bully treatment she got from Colton and Alicia, and I'm all for that. To me, Survivor is most satisfying when it's about bullies getting their comeuppance, which is why I love people like Crystal & Sugar on Gabon for eliminating jerks like Randy (or my all time favorite TC when Earl/Yul and their more appealing gang blindsided Eduardo and the doucheboys).

My thinking is, Alicia tries to make a big move to take out Kim (or if Kim wins immunity, then Chelsea) and it backfires (or Kim/Chelsea plays the idol or whatever) and Alicia goes. Plus she's not the best competitor out there, but with 1 win under her belt, she's definitely a bigger challenge threat than Christina who may as well be napping in challenges. So it makes more sense for Kim to target her first. Yeah Chelsea is a challenge threat too, but she's not voting out Kim...like ever, so that's at least a guaranteed 2-vote deadlock at F4 and since Kim is 5 bazillion times a better Survivor player than I would be, I'm sure she's already thought of all that.

The recap show, the second half of the reunion show, the Sprint Player of the Week segments, Jeff Probst hanging out of a helicopter, and the March of the Fallen Survivors are all tied for my LEAST favorite parts of any Survivor season.

I totally agree. I dislike all of those. I don't particularly care for the 'family reunion' segment either. All the crying and stuff is over the top for people who are away for what, a month? Geez.
