Survivor 24: One World (Redemption Island is GONE!)

Even though I'm obviously pro-Kim I would be completely cool with a Sabrina win as well.

Which of course means that Chelsea is gonna win.

And is Christina the most lackadaisical person who has ever been on Survivor or what?

ETA: Sabrina's sobfest about being a teacher followed by Chelsea talking about how Survivor is much more than a million dollars makes me think that Sabrina could win and that Chelsea for sure isn't.
 
Yeah I like Sabrina too but man I want Kim to win SOOO bad. The editing though has me worried that Sabrina could pull off an upset, and it will be the biggest mistake Kim made (taking her to the end).

Also, why didn't Kim stress her immunity wins and tell the jury she had an idol since day 1 and never had to use it??

yea i was surprised too when kim didnt mention the idol or the immunity wins. but also im sure everyone knew of it then, or also she could have said something about it, but it didnt make the cut, we only see a 10 minute final jury session, im sure it goes on for at least an hour, so im sure alot of things are said back and forth.

kim did derserve to win, glad everyone saw it as a game, OMG can you imagine Kim and Parvati working together in an all star season? omg that would be sooooo epic, then throw Sandra, and maybe Courtney from china for some snark, best alliance ever.

looks like my spoilers were right about the returning player thing, funny thing is the promo, basically told you who was coming back.

AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Troyzan was so delusional.

It was interesting to see the contrast between Colton and Alicia's reactions to public reception of the things they said. Alicia did seem honestly remorseful while Colton sort of just came off like "Yeah, I'm just saying this because it sounds good :-/."

Also, fuck. I am so over returning players mixed with newbies. Do all one or the other. I don't care which.

I felt Jeff kinda/sorta gave Colton and Alicia a pass at the end of his questions and audience participation "heat of the game" , I can't imagine what you go through playing this game." Let's face it, there is no excuse whatsoever for Colton's words, actions, explanations as there are none for Alicia who is a special needs teacher and sat up with Colton to make slanted eyes to a night vision camera. I f Colton is coming back, I am going away. I don't need to see this over pampered idiot making gay people look like the worse kind of trash. When his mother said that some of his family doesn't accept him I was wondering if that was before or after Survivor.

Good win and a good final 3.
 
the votes were 7-2-0 sabrina got the 2 votes.

and its just rumors at this point, but it looks like the three people coming back for next season are, Mike Skupin (austrailian outback, burned hands), Russell Swan (Samoa, passed out during the challenge), and Jonathan Penner (Cook islands, and Micronesia, injured knee)

im surprised mike is coming back, but he isnt that old, he was 38 in 2001, so he would only be about 49 now. russell im interested to see again, i think if he had made mergein samoa, the game would be a lot different, cause he would have kept the galu members together. and jonathan penner, this is totally a jeff choice, jeff loves this guy to death. and it will be interesting to see him play an third time, again if he hadnt been taken out, i think things would have been different,cause eliza would have had someone to trust, and you had someone to combat parv.

also three tribes this time, should be interesting, but liek always, survivor will probably have them merge into two tribes on day 4. just like they did with cook islands and panama.

Kat was amazing. She just blew me away at tribal council. Absolutely wonderful speech.

As for the returning 'medical leave' contestants this fall, I'm fine with that since Russell Hantz isn't in that category.

The difference between Alicia and Colton's apologies for their bigoted remarks/actions is the difference between genuine remorse and full blown sociopath.

Let's read between the lines: "This season possessed too many of those people with icky vaginas coming together to vote out my desired, manly butt buddies! It would have been the best season ever if Troyzan won, but since Kim killed all of my dreams, I can't wait until next season when three of my biggest crushes return and we go back to casting chicks out of swimsuit magazines yet again!"

Also, if last night's trotting out of Blossom, Colton's mom, Tarzan's wife and some random fan in the audience was any indication, not to mention asking Matt a question about something that didn't involve him at all, I can't wait to see your talk show blow up in your face!
 
In retrospect, this season wasn't quite the improvement that everyone had hoped. This is evident from reading the last couple pages in this thread and comparing to first couple pages of hype when the season was first beginning. Instead of redemption island, we supposedly got "one world", which really meant nothing and lasted only briefly. We got a couple Jeff-less challenges, but the rest he more than made up for. The little person was little in more ways than one. The only real strategy was girls vs. guys; like we haven't seen that before.

Overall, still an enjoyable, but average season. Congrats to Kim; I always like when a truly deserving person wins, and Survivor has been on a roll in this regard in recent seasons. And Kat, woah, she grew up quickly.
 
Compared to Redemption Island and South Pacific I think this season was a HUGE improvement, personally. Other than Leif who was stunt casting at its worst, I think basically everyone played a role and I knew what they were all about in the end. I hated some, I loved some, I laughed at some for good and bad reasons. Kim's detached strategic domination, Sabrina's snappy narration, Christina's LOL pathetic underdog story, Alicia being delusional, Troyzan being entitled, Tarzan being wacky, Kat being goofy and fun... I felt more for this cast as individuals than how Zapatera and 2/3 of Ometepe were collective units waiting to be eliminated by Rob or how Dawn, Ozzy, Cochran and Jim were the only relevant people on Savaii.

And the gameplay could have been more exciting but I'm glad the opportunities were put in place to encourage shifting alliances and drama, plus Kat's boot even meant it wasn't a straight pagonging like RI/SP. People taking each other on reward challenges and having tribal swaps are totally necessary elements to set up fun clusterfuck seasons like Gabon... true, it still ended up being an all female F5 this time, but I'll still take that over people getting all anxious over somebody returning from RI or being afraid to make a move against the returning player leader because everyone else is so starstruck.
 
Oh shut it Jeff. Every season he calls boring (Pearl Islands, Fiji, One World) and every outcome he despises (Yul beating Ozzy, Natalie beating Russell) is exactly what I love. And unfortunately America seems to agree with him. This season and its winner were my favorite since the back-to-back awesomeness of Cook Islands and Fiji so...to hell with Jeff and America.

Also, I wish they'd go back to a purer version of the game: new players each season, two people in the finals with a jury of 7, and only one immunity idol or none at all.

Also also, if they insist on returning players, can we please get some Crystal fucking awesome Cox up in here?
 
I don't think he hated Pearl Islands because it was well-received and did produce Rupert. However he DOES hate Marquesas and went as far as putting it like 19th out of 20 or something. That season had a F3 that was all women and its star was a middle-aged woman. Yeah, huge coincidence...
