Survivor 28: Brawn, Brains and Beauty

I get the Tash love, but Trish? Really? She does nada. NADA! What is wrong with the women that do this show. They band with a Tony, or a Hantz or a Rob and hang on for dear life, never looking at where they stand as an individual. Maybe they're smart enough to make an argument at tribal for the win , but do they play a game. Cass has a lot of resentment toward college age boys as she so put in a dr about Spencer being selfish and playing his idol for himself. Tris as a personality, maybe but as a player I don't see it. Jefra was doomed when she couldn't turn the tables. Was she safer not joining Tash and Spencer and Jeremiah? Well no. She's off to Ponderosa. And chest pounding Tony sits there with 2 idols and possibilities. It just bores the shit out of me, except for Tash and Spencer. They have made a it to here and that is amazing enough.

Things Trish has done as a player:
-Spear-headed the movement to get out Cliff (and as a result Lindsey), her only two enemies on New Solana
-Correctly perceived the Sarah/Kass friction and convinced Kass to flip, handing her alliance the majority
-Realized that Tony was lying about LJ wanting Woo out (admittedly, she couldn't prevent LJ's elimination)
-Realized Jefra was angry at Tony for betraying LJ and successfully got her NOT to flip last week

For somebody edited as crazy loon she sure has had her hand on the pulse of the game for most of the show and did a lot to ensure her alliance got the majority and held together for as long as it has. Out of everyone she definitely has the best game instincts but the show continues to credit Tony for everything because he's the leader of their alliance. This week with the Jefra elimination was the only time that comes to mind when she has been COMPLETELY in the dark about things.

I mostly just like her because nutty middle-aged women are my flavor, but she does have some game.

Yeah joesman, it's fine if you don't like her (I can see how she can come off as annoying) but objectively, she's done a lot (see slipintothefog's post).

Now that doesn't mean I think she can win. Unfortunately for older slightly-annoying women, it's always a tough road. If it's a F2, she absolutely cannot win against Spencer or Tash, and she could only win against Tony or Woo IF the jury really hates the former and thinks the latter was an airhead, and if she can sell her subtle moves in a convincing and confident way. And that's still a stretch. Her best move would be to go to the F2 with Kass (then Trish would probably get every vote) but the problem is, ANY of the other players are likely to win the final immunity challenge over her or Kass and in that case, they'd definitely take Kass over her. Basically she needs to get rid of Kass so she can get to the end by being the one person everyone wants to take BUT she likely can't win a jury vote against any of those people once she gets there. She's really in a tough spot as far as I can see. The real weakness in Trish's otherwise flawless game-playing is her lack of competition strength and the fact that four strong physical competitors remain in the game. If she had a realistic chance of besting Tony, Woo, Spencer or Tash in that final immunity, she could take Kass to the end and win easily.

This is ultimately why I think Trish keeps putting up with Tony. I think she really needs to just go to the end with Tony or Woo and plead her case well, in the event that the jury hates the former or thinks the latter is an idiot.

Tasharobbage </3 The winds of this season have deflated my sails hard at this point.

One day this show will have another black female winner, I hope. :(

Poor Tash. The problem with Kass' plan is I think she's way more disliked than Tony.

How DELUSIONAL are u Kass u fricken dope and Trish is just as bad for sticking with him AGAIN , really sad to see Tash go.

I liked Tash, damn!

What a fucking dope Wu is. Trish and Wu have done nothing and they don't stand a chance when they get to the F3.

They're handing the trophy to Tony.

An episode of blah - there was hope, a little hope and it turned to ashes in my mouth when not even the simpliest of plans can be carried forward. In the end all voted to oust Tash and I just withered. All that talk and blustering was nothing. Now we know that the final 5 has Tony and the final 4 will have Tony because he has the idols. Boo Wu has the balls of a fly. And trish just keeps drying up and lying there beside Tony. She better have some damn good speech lined up if she makes it to f2. Every tribal they sit there and tell the jury how much Tony has done, that all of them are there because of him and unless they are bitter bettys then Tony has a million coming his way. What a sham.

This was the worst episode for me because the boot was either going to be Tash or Trish (though I'd rather Tash had survived). The fact that Kass just got my hopes up (even though it really wasn't the right move for her or Woo to align with Tash) makes me hate her even more.

I'm firmly rooting for Trish or Woo to win now, in that order.

I would rather Wu win than Trish. Just the sight of her lying there at Tony's feet made me gag.

The only two who deserve to win now are Tony and Spencer, I dont know what Trishs gameplan is, maybe she thinks she could beat Tony at the end. Kass has to be one of the most hated players ever, I cant understand all the hatred she has for people, shes just so rude calling Tash and Trish idiots in one of the latest secret scenes.

What a weird finish. I thought Tony would use one of the idols on someone or something - not sad to see his personal asshole go. As much as I despise Kass I loved her Skeletor comment. And Tony, WTF?

Even more reason to hate this super idol. I don't despise Tony the way I did Russell Hantz or Philip Shepherd or even Coach, but it's never fun when one player gets to steamroll through the game unless it's a likable underdog winning immunities or a true puppet master earning their victory. But Tony is neither. In this case, not only did the super idol give Tony WAY too much safety, but because it's details are a secret to everyone else, he can lie about using it at F4 and be safe then too. I think that's actually unfair to the other players. It's bad enough that the super idol exists, but they should all at least be aware of its properties. How can you play when you don't know the rules? Hopefully they'll all realize that Jeff always says F5 is the last time to play an idol.

I actually think Kass did the best thing for herself (she can't win, but to get to the end at least). By getting rid of the only other goat in the game, she's guaranteed a final spot since none of those people want to be sitting in the finals against each other (even moreso if it's a F2). Best move she's made all season.

Sorry to see Trish go though. And I actually cheered when Spencer won that immunity. Who knew?

So was tonight the last time to use any idol? I thought Jeff always announces it.

Tony said that he was going to pretend to the others that the special idol was good through f4 when, in fact, it expired this episode. I agree that it is extremely unfair to the other players not knowing the true expiration of the special (ekk!) idol. But Jeff would be unlikely to reveal anything that might get Tony farther in the game.

I was bonkers when Spencer won that immunity. I wasn't sorry to see Trish go because, editing or otherwise, she was a non-entity until that flare up at (C)Kass which was a great bitch fight. And Wu, jeezus what a numbskull. Tony voting against Trish shocked the shit out of me because I was almost certain he would give her the extra idol. I hope that bites him in the ass big time.

Woo is definitely my number 1 now and it could very well happen if Spencer loses the next immunity.

Wu finally had the guts to vote against Tony but then Tony voted for Trish. Maybe that was the plan?

Why didn't he get rid of Kass? I think she can win it.

I'm happy to see Trush go. Kass is right - psycho-bitch indeed. She's a feral.

Actually, and you all know this even with your prejudices and dislikes, Spencer should win if he gets to finals because he has fought his ass off to get where he is and it has not been easy. Wu obviously voted Trish because Tony was voting Trish. Wu is a indecisive non-player. He has done nothing but hang out and hang his head and be indecisive. He might win if the jury indeed hates Kass and/or Tony as much as the rest of us but they have not been in camp since vote out and had to listen to either one of them. With Trish in the jury though she will talk smack. Why was she still so hungry after eating pizza with Tony?

Spencer has been shaping the game about as much as Fabio did because he's been in the minority for the entire show -- the only move post-merge that he had the slightest bit of involvement in was Jefra's boot -- and he has a personality that's about a hundred times more repugnant. I think he would be my least favorite Survivor winner ever if he actually won.
