Survivor 31: Cambodia (Second Chance)

That's what we're talking about joesman. It was Monica Padilla, patron saint of clams.

Tasha is getting on my last nerve since the previous Abi Marie got on and off. Bye Abi. Miss you not.

Coming attractions - what is happening on Survivor 31 that never happened before?

lmao @ "It would be a disservice to the fans who voted if we let Abi, Keith and Kelley get to the end." All three of them are more entertaining than you have been this season, Tasha. This episode was the first time the arrogance was actually funny enough to hate on though.

I could understand why Tasha would think Abi was not a fan favorite (she's not), but why on earth would she think Kelly and Keith aren't? Keith was beloved among a lot of fans the first time around and Kelley's gameplay this season is exactly the kind of thing that makes a player a fan favorite.

Is Tasha really that bad at reading a room? She probably really does think she can beat Jeremy and Spencer.

In her defense, she was probably trying to muster any possible argument to protect herself by throwing Kelley and Keith under the bus for down the road. I don't believe that she actually believes what she said to be true, but that's probably all she has to work with since she was primarily talking to Spencer and made an attempt to appeal to his inner responsibility to the fans.

She did a poor job of it though if my analysis is correct.

EDIT:

By the way, with this being my first Survivor season ever, I'm HOOKED. This show is 10x better than Big Brother in every way possible. I find myself paying more attention to these forums again just to check up on what is being discussed and actually feeling inclined to participate unlike BB.

With that being said, I want to watch another season of Survivor on youtube but have no idea which to pick. I know of the two-time winner Sandra Diaz-Twine (love her - "He's a stooopid ass!") and I may watch both of her seasons.

Any recommendations?

I'm guessing the "thing that has never happened in 31 seasons" is Jeremy and Kelley playing their idols and nullifying all votes at tribal. And then Kimmi goes home in the revote scrambling to explain her shitastic idol victim-esque edit.

Also, why the hell are there six people and three voting cycles in this finale? This season kind of blows.

I scratched my head at that as well.

Kensei, my recommendation is always just to start with the beginning and go from there. But I'm a completionist and love seeing every step of the evolution for things I love, which extends from Survivor and other TV shows to music discographies to video game franchises, etc.

The seasons that mixed chaotic gameplay and character development the best IMO are Amazon (season 6) and Pearl Islands (season 7), so those are always my go-tos. They're even better to me after the context of the first 4-5 seasons where most people were content to ride their single alliance to the end or they get voted out (season 4 Marquesas threatens to be revolutionary in the context of the game but the season 5 Thailand goes right back to a pagonging), but that's just me.

Also if you like coherent character narratives, the original seasons are the best for those. Because the edit was a little more honest back then in terms of trying to present everyone equally. None of this modern-day nonsense where other players call Kelly Wiglesworth a social threat but the show edits her out of existence because we can't have fans outraging on social media because their favorite went home (still didn't stop the crazy cat lady exodus after Joe got booted last week though).

… Is Tasha really that bad at reading a room? She probably really does think she can beat Jeremy and Spencer.

She is that bad.

She dismissed the notion of a women’s alliance and immediately told of that so-called possibility to Jeremy and Spencer.

Tasha is delusional. In a Final Three with Jeremy and Spencer, she truly believes she can win the game because she would get Andrew’s vote.

I think Kelley deserves her place. But Keith has done nothing and is totally clueless. But he is good at staying in the background and not offending anyone.

Tasha's statement about the others was bad for two reasons. One is the arrogance of her thinking that she, Jeremy and Spencer would be the final three that the viewers "deserve." Like, I loathe Spencer, Tasha's stock has crashed after this season to me, and Jeremy is good but I'm always hoping for more female winners to even up the male/female ratio.

The other thing is that regardless of whether they're good players or not, Abi, Keith and Kelley were still voted onto the season by the fans. Sure, Keith and Abi were voted on because of their personalities (infamous in Abi's case), and Kelley probably benefited from Reddit fans voting for her en masse, and being the only young blonde girl on the ballot for eye candy. But not everybody watches this show for the strategic players to out-gamebot each other, which is another reason why a Spencer/Jeremy/Tasha F3 is a pretty grim thought for me.

All the seasons? I don't have time for that unfortunately. Maybe one day. I will heed your advice and watch the ones you recommend though.

I would absolutely love it if Spencer wins. Would totally make the season for me.

Does anyone think Jeremy will tell about his pregnant wife at final Tribal?

Or Jeremy, Kelley, or Tasha. Anyone else and I'll be mad.

this is what i do not understand why would keith, kelley just target tasha out of nowhere, it didnt make sense to me?

you would at least target jeremy first

I wonder if good ol boy keith is moree comfortable around his people.

anyways i didnt think Tasha was that evil, i think she was more trying to raise the egos of the boys to side with her, playing the game.

I still like tasha, abi and everyone else. This is season is much better than some previous season where i couldnt stand the WINNER.

i dont care at this point who wins, i feel everyone there has fought to be there and deserve it.

i hope tasha or spencer wins though.

kelley i dont much like her of her strategy. Jeremy is MEH, lucked into some spots like kelly.

the rest are just MEH but i like everyone equally.

I know superfans, gamebots and Probst were all jizzing themselves over that Tribal Council, but for me the best part was how BOTH Spencer and Keith were wrong (despite thinking they know everything happening in the game). Jeremy was wrong to insist that Kimmi wouldn't flip on them and Spencer was wrong to insist that Kelly didn't have another idol.

Wow for all the talk about how epic this season was, that final TC was SO BORING. If it wasn't for Wigglesworth hilariously reviving Greg's 1 through 10 question, there wouldn't have been a single memorable moment during the whole thing. This was my takeaway from the equally boring answers:

Spencer: "I've changed"

Jeremy: "Val."

Tasha: "3"

I'm on Eastern Time. So, I do know who won. But, while I do understand Post Nos. 135 and 136 from Sgt Pepper, I'll comment later. One thing I can say is this: The Reunion special has been interesting for no more than ten minutes.

:##:

This was definitely on my short list for worst finales ever. The way Kimmi was eliminated was absolutely bullshit (Wentworth also lost some points from me for talking Keith out of walking - now that would have been something emotional and epic in a season of cold hyper-strategic robots), everything was rushed, there was no need to have three full cycles in the finale, the final three consisted of three of the most unbearable people in the season, and final tribal was dull as fuck because Jeremy's win was spelled out over a month ago. Though I'm so glad nobody on the jury even contemplated rewarding Spencer's forced "learning to be a human" story arc with a second place pity vote.

Also, gotta love how the finale was already pressed for time but Jeff felt it necessary to spend three minutes drawing a diagram for everyone at home who was too dumb/uninterested in following the dynamics of Kimmi's boot despite them spelling it out in the show in real time.

Yeah seriously why did ANY of them want Keith to stay over Kimmi? For Kelly, that was one more good competitor she'd have to beat to win the last two immunities and for Jeremy/Spencer/Tasha, Keith was definitely more of a threat to the three of them making it to the finals than Kimmi. I don't get it, but I'm sure Spencer could borrow Jeff's diagram and explain it to me his usual charmless, gamebot way.

Kudos to Kass for "I hope he gets on a jet ski" and to Wiggles for subtly reminding them that her season was a bigger deal than Joe, this season, and ALL the other Second Chance players put together.
