Survivor Gabon Cast Is Up!

Wow I guess I must be really naive!! I can understand CBS wanting a cast that will draw ratings, but to disregard the thousands of audition tapes & hand pick the cast? Unbelievable.

Anyways, this is the first Survivor I've seen and I'm enjoying it for the most part. They've all annoyed me at some point so I'm not a super fan of any of them but I'd like to see Sugar win because a lot of people have been doubting her abilities and it'd be nice for her to prove them wrong and win. I also wouldn't mind seeing Charlie, Corinne or Marcus win.

I also am worried for Charlie. Will he even want to go on ? But I was sorrier seeing Dan go. I thought he was very attractive, completely vulnerable, and trying so hard to be liked, and understood, that he kind of grabbed my heart for a while.

If you haven't seen Survivor Micronesia yet (it's all over the place, and I think all the episodes are at surfthechannel.com), start with that season. It's pretty much the best season in my opinion. One awesome blindside after another! The only disappointing part was that the best player of the season (and probably of all time) was screwed over by a lame last minute producer's twist, and was voted out at F3, just shy of the finale.

But even then the jury chose the better social strategist of the F2 finalists so it wasn't a bad ending.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll make sure to check it out when I have a chance.

Anyways, I kind of felt bad for Marcus. He has done really well in these competitions but got the short end of the stick with these new teams. He really seemed like a nice guy, too. With the way he handle the Ken situation and all; however, he was strategizing way too much which ultimitely led to his elimination. Oh well, Sugar for the win!

You can put in the "I'm not happy" category.

I think this would have been brilliant move, if it didn't rely on so many "ifs." If the merge happens, and if Susie stays with Crystal and Kenny, and if they can get Matty and Sugar back, things will work out fine for them.

I honestly think Crystal would have ended up doing much better going with Marcus's idea and voting Kenny out. Doing that would show that she's willing to show some loyalty to the Onion alliance, replacing Susie (flaky as hell, but I'll get to that later) with herself. At least then should could hope for final 6 at the very least.

As it currently stands he's now in a tribe with 4 people, only one of which is what I would consider decent at physical challenges. They're relying too much on a merge, that needs to happen soon, when it may not happen at all. If they don't merge, they'll most likely get rid of Bob, and then Susie's the next to go, and then what?


I'm not saying that it wasn't a great move on Susies part, she's a bit of a loose cannon and didn't have much else of a choice, but for Crystal, I really thing she should have spent a little more time considering her options. Loyalty is an admirable trait, but not when competing for a million dollar prize, then it's just idiotic.

I really don't think Suzy voting off Marcus helped her or hurt her.

I don't see her making it much further because she isn't really in a clique. Then again maybe that helps you in this game, I dunno.

And often when Survivor does this type of shake up it seems unfair to the people who have been playing the game the best up to that point. After the shake up, it becomes just a numbers game, which is the only reason Marcus got hit. Another reason why winning Survivor is 10% skill and 90% luck.

Truthfully, this show is going to end up with the people who can't do shit but whine and complain. OK so you have Crystal who can't row, can't climb a hill, can't hold a her arms up for 10 seconds. Skinny Kenny who sits by the water all the time looking like Golum. Susie who can't do shit - and these 3 people deserve what? Nothing in my opinion. And if I hear this social game junk again, what social game are they playing - don't bother Nik and Falcon, I'm not going to read your continuous explanations because they don't make sense either.

To have good tv you have to have a good show that people want to watch and this one is quickly falling into the shitter.

So this show ends up with Crystal, Randy, Kenny, Susie and who in hell is going to watch. None of them have anyone who cares but Nik and Falconfan.

Oh yeah, since Marcus is now in the jury, will he attend tribal counsel next week when the losing team votes? Usually, they just have one big tribe by this point. This is completely different from past Survivor seasons.

You've put the 'anal' in 'analogy' quite well. There ought to be a social component to the game, but to constantly change the teams/tribes without rhyme or reason works against those who are attempting to play a social game. It's difficult to admire someone who doesn't DO anything, but avoids becoming a target. "Here's a million dollars. You were completely useless, and we are rewarding you for it."

I love how Randy/Corrine/Charlie threw the challenge to save Marcus and boot Matty, but Matty (unwittingly) stayed in the game to save his tribe (and ended up saving himself most of all), which allowed the situation for Ken/Crystal/Susie to boot Marcus. FUCKING A!

I loved it! It would be a dull season if the former strong alliance picked everyone else off one by one.

Arghhh, the show isn't even worth watching anymore.

I've felt like that in past seasons (when Ozzie got blindsided) but I continued to watch. I was also pissed that hunky ex Marine didn't Terry didn't win.

For some reason, I'm not sure who I'm roooting for. I like Sugar and it would be fun to see her work up to the final 3. She's a trip.

Crystal is extremely pathetic at physical challenges, considering that she is an Olympic athlete. I can't decide if she is purposely being that way for some odd strategic reason, or if she really is that pathetic. She has been the most consistently bad physical competitor in all Survivor history I think.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE seasons when people aren't content to take a subservient position and that's EXACTLY what this is!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I liked Marcus but he got too confident made some dumb moves and got sent packing and how appropriate was it that the man who tossed the idol into the sea was the one who was sent packing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh poetic justice All of those people shocked and awed me though.... I'm sorry why is no one taking the fucking idol?!? Ummmmm wtf!?!? The worst thing that can happen is people vote for you so take it, fucking play it and YOU get to decide who goes home.... or use it and things will go down as if you never had it so... big dif you know?

Kenny is becoming a hell of an amazing player. He still lacks the presence to be super convincing but his perception and ability to alter situations in his favor are quite impressive.

I am SO happy that Susie wasn't content to be some Lydia who just gets drug along with an alliance she wouldn't have wound up in the finals with those 6 and even if she did there's no chance in hell she would've won.

Kota took her for granted and it bit her in the ass. They clearly didn't know how to handle her AT ALL. I mean yelling at her after tribal was TOTALLY uncalled for. Ganging up on the woman over nothing other than Corrine's insecurities is only going to make her feel alienated and stop trusting her. I mean how fucking irrational was that!??! Three of us are going to write your name down because we don't care about loosing you but not only do we expect you to stay loyal to us you have to like us and never say anything negative about us even when asked leading questions that force you to either name someone else or belittle your own self worth... like WTF?!?!? What kind of logic was that!? And then at TC this episode BOB WHY would you say you regretted your vote?!?!?! Why would you basically say you wished you'd vote Susie out?!? Marcus why the fuck do you say it's important to keep a tribe strong?! Idiot if you want Susie to think you want to keep her you say that it's important to stay loyal to your group. I mean REALLY these things don't ride on one conversation or fleeting promises but your entire attitude towards a person.

Corrine and Charlie were so pathetic! Why would you throw a challenge to save Marcus with such a strong possiblity of A) Sugar having the idol B) Sugar giving it to Matty and eliminating one of you two. Like really?! If they were doing it to keep the majority it would be one thing but they were just so blatantly doing it because they wanted to do what was best for Marcus...
