Was there a new episode?

It was a recap episode of the first 30 days. A few new scenes and they showed a little bit of the audition tapes of the final 8 :)

I can't wait for the Corinne/Sugar argument next week

Scrolling through this thread I see fighting. I'm voting for my big brother boys. It's like a reunion for me!

And is it bidude behind there? I hate sockpuppets.

The thing that never made sense to me is had this be true (the Ken/Charlie) situation then why didn't Charlie bring it up during tribal when asked about Ken instead of saying whatever he said about him, which I believe was positive...si?

I hope he didn't just make it up cause that'd just show what bad sportsmanship he has which is no bueño.

Touchè.

Allow me to correct myself, I hope he didn't make it up cause that would just show what more bad sportsmanship he has...

Well, I just hope when it comes down to it.. These people are able to give credit where credit is due and choose the player who played the better game as the winner and don't make it personal.

I see your point. I'll give Marcus the benefit of the doubt and possibly making a fair choice and the others following his vote.

Do they announce their vote publicly or is it done privately?

LOL. With Marcus, Charlie, Randy and possibly Corrine on the jury? Fat chance. It will be personal all the way.

NO ONE should wanna take Matty to the end. I like him, but for the others he's an easy winner and therefore a huge threat. He's not hated by anyone on the jury and if Randy (and possibly Corrine) are gonna be mad at Bob for his part in their humiliation, they'll easily vote for Matty. He has the best odds to win of anyone. He has no game which (with petty jury members) translates to "good game" because they can point to his skill in competitions and "justify" not voting for the people who outplayed them. I'd say Matty needs to go even before Bob quite frankly.

If Ken, Matty, Sugar or Susie wanna win this, they have one bitterness proof-absolutely-guaranteed-to-win option in dealing with petty jury members like these: every single one of them must take Crystal to the finals. She has not endeared herself with anyone on the jury -- in fact she's outright hated by some -- and is the one most of the jury will be voting against. In fact, unless Crystal is sitting in a F2 against Susie and can make a compelling and charismatic jury speech that she orchestrated more moves than Susie (and even then Susie can counter that she has performed better in competitions than Crystal and is far more likable), I honestly can't see any combination that would benefit Crystal, and any situation that would lead to her winning. She'll be hard pressed to get one vote other than Kenny's (if he's on the jury) and even his isn't guaranteed.

I'm operating under the assumption that this season they are reverting back to F2 as they did for Micronesia.

Agreed mostly except I don't like Matty. I still don't understand people's hatred for Crystal. Matty seems to hate her most, and she's mostly been on his side. IMO there have been people in this game 100x more awful who were not hated as much.

I also dont think she is that terrible of a competitor. There has really been no female who has stood out as a great competitor this season. Crystal has sucked at some but not much more than anyone else. And Matty hasnt been that outstanding a competitor. He hasnt been awful but he hasnt been a standout like Ozzie or James.

However, perception is all that matters in this game and the perception is that she is a bad competitor. Also, for whatever reason, she has not endeared herself to many of these people. I personally like her but her personality is abrasive in a way that I can see how it would turn some people off who aren't used to that (I'm not one of them. I like her just fine). And unfortunately (as we've discussed many times in the BB thread) getting people to like you and wanna vote for you to win is part of the game.

I would totally rank Crystal way above Matty in terms of gameplay. Hell I'd rank her second only to Kenny this season! My point was only that she probably cannot win this game based on her inability to woo people successfully to wanna vote for her in the end, and based on the perception that she is not a great competitor. My point is only that anyone who wants an easy win should probably take her to the end.

It would be awesome though if Crystal got to the end and was like, "Yeah so I'm an Olympic athlete and I was totally downplaying my skills in competitions so you guys wouldn't think I was someone you should target. Great strategy huh?" LOL. Whether it's true or not, it would be her best defense.

I'll give you Ozzy but I totally take issue with the idea that James was a great competitor. LOL. Talk about perception overriding reality. That's a myth that Probst perpetuated because he fits the big manly man role that Probst salivates (disgustingly) over every season but James sucked at challenges and won a total of ZERO Immunity challenges during two seasons. ;)

Yea you are right about perception being key. And likability is part of the game. But I'm not sure being nice and likeable is even possible sometimes. Look at Susie. what the hell as she done to be so hated and disrespected by many of the tribe members? She is prolly the most pleasant person there and many of them treat her like shit. I doubt there is little Crystal could have done to endear herself to these fools. Most of these people are snobs who looked down on anyone who wasnt like them. The only person who seems not to be petty and crazy is Marcus.

And I think I was James is a beneficiery of a different kind of perception. Thanks large to Probst he was perceived as a great player but he was overrated now that I think about it. That bastard Probst tricked me again.

Why Susie had the audacity not to roll over to die. She played the game for herself rather than Marcus. That's like the biggest crime there is with these morons.

If it's any consolation he also fooled himself. He tends to try and convince himself the biggest man is always the best player... even if that man does loose to Courtney in immunity challenges.

^^ Actually, I believe Corinne said she liked Suzie up into the point when she told her that she was thinking of voting for her at tribal and then all of a sudden she does a 180 and hated her. I honestly don't think Marcus or Charlie had a problem with Suzie prior to her flipping. That is, if that's who you are referring to with the etc.

As for Randy, I'll buy the race card.

As for the strong bond with between the three... I think you're reading too much into it... I mean it's not like the oringinal Kota had many people of color to form bonds with... just saying.

BTW, pretty random but you seem/are very educated. :]

Was it really before? I honestly thought it was after... Guess not.

Oh and I know there are race implications to the way certain people bond, trust me. I just didn't and still don't (with the exception of Randy) think there were/are race implications in these bondings... I just think they did what they thought was the best strategy (which clearly wasn't) and brought Randy in over Suzie cause he clearly showed his hate for the Fang tribe.

Oh and you're welcome.

I edited my post Laststraw21 to include more points and to clarify my position. I think I was editing it while you replied to me. Not that it will necessarily change your mind, but...just a heads up.

You are quite the convincer with your arguments and points.

I have a few parts I want to quote and respond to but I'm mobile right now and it'll take forever so I'll just do it later.

Nikki, as much as I appreciate our analysis you're overlooking a huge factor in the "entitlement" issue. Fang lost.... repeatedly. Kota clearly thought that because they were unbeatable in the early part of the game the people who run Kota should've just been handed the game. While I'm not saying that race couldn't possibly be a factor in certain feelings of entitlement this idea that Kota is amazing and Fang is subpar undoubtedly played a direct and vital role in establishing such expectations and as such we can't simply claim that it's latent racism.

After watching the re-cap of the season thus far, I conclude that Corinne is just about as vile and digusting as a person as Randy is... just re-watching (or watching for the first time) some of the scenes, it made me lose any chance of me thinking she's an okay person (not that it'd mean anything to her but just saying).

I really hope Sugar ends up winning the whole thing because she's a sweet girl and I respect the way she has played the game so far. Also, she's kind of an underdog and it's always nice to see an underdog come out on top.

I also would be okay with Suzie or Matty winning.

Bob, Crystal or Ken winning would be whatever for me

Corinne winning would disgust me but I can see it happening if she makes the final three.

Okay, I'm done.

I have a question.

How does this show actually work? What are the rules of the game?

Poorly

Maybe I Should Rephrase - What It Added Was Bullshit. How Can Any Of This Be Fair When - Instead Of Letting A Tribe Kill Itself Off - The Producers & Probst Had To Screw Around With The Game Because They Didn't Like The Direction It Was Taking?

I Still Think They Should Dump The Tribe Stuff And Start Out With Everyone Merged. They Can Pick Teams Each Time There Is A Competition And That Would Keep The Producers Out Of It And Force The Players To Expand Their Strategy.

I'm not going to say anything because Nik already said it

It realized today where I've seen Charlie before...
