I'm curious to see how this turns out. While I find it quite easy to imagine disliking a diminutive oil tycoon from Texas most the time "villain" is code for good player and considering the guys already a multi-millionaire I think he's clearly there for no reason other than to play the game and win for the sake of winning, which is something I can respect.

Here in west, the show is just starting, but already I'm reminded of how I dislike Probst. Last year I said something like he was a moderator of a focus group from Fox News with his leading questions; I'll stand by that, and add that he's also like an ill-informed park ranger, throwing out dumbed down trivia about these "exotic" locations. Bleh.

I do not like Russell, he's a tool. I especially cant stand Ben, what was his beef with Marissa? Whom I loved BTW! Ashley should have left before her.

I gotta say the elderly ladies are the ones that are impressing me. Shambo and Betsy are freaking smart!

Indeed. Russell acting all offended when what's-her-name had him pegged was hilarious. But the fact that one of the "dumb girls" was, in fact, not dumb at all seems lost on him -- or maybe that made him all the more pissed off. Ben too seems offended by the mere fact that a woman spoke her mind.

I'm not sold on Shambo yet. Is Betsy Cop Lady? Cuz she's on to Russell and I like her for that. I hope she can find a way to take him out.

I found Shambo's critique of Russell's leadership a little off-putting. Maybe it's just me -- I've known too many former military folk who subscribed to the "my way's the only way" philosophy. But it's early yet -- we'll see.

I agree, and would also add that Ben's photograph does him all sorts of favors that television does not.

On a side note, apparently our local CBS affiliate is doing a profile on the late local news on Laura. They call her a "self-described conservative Christian" in a tone which suggests that anyone would have to be crazy to describe themselves as such. Heh. I might just have to watch.

Alright, just watched the premiere tonight and I just wanted to mention that I already hate Russell. I'm completely annoyed by his arrogant attitude, like most of you. However, I don't think anyone on his tribe is smart enough to take him down before he takes them out. The cop lady seems like she may end being his next victim.

Honestly, that old man (Mike) should've been the one to go tonight. Not because he's old, but because HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING during the immunity challenge. He just stood there like a dumbass watching the other team complete the puzzle.

Erik is kinda hot but I have a feeling he's a useless douche... This season doesn't feel so exciting. Last Survivor season I watched in full was Marcus and Charlie's season.

Well I just saw the first episode... Russell is a moron who gives himself far more credit than he's deserves. Granted he eliminated someone who he'd begun to rub the wrong way but that means nothing other than in a matter of three days he's managed to get 2 people pissed at him. And you know what getting the 100 lb awkward girl with flowers in her hair is no epic feat. Creating chaos could be a good technique but only if you're smooth enough to play it off and this dude clearly isn't. I'd like to say he's going to go soon because he's gettign SO much screentime but they commercials are all fucking about him so he has to last for a decent while.

Also annoying flabby old racist guy. And wanna be JT.

I like detective lady but I suspect she's going to go. God Complex isn't gonna be too happy with her having and stating an opinion, that Ashley was the weakest. I mean this dude is fucking BB Cappy material anything short of complete subservience and he apparently flips a shit.

Mick it hotter on TV than in the photos so that was nice. Some of the others are pretty cute two though no one really popped for me. All and all a decent premier but if this season is dominated by the jackass it's going to be as annoying as teh ramblings of Coach.

I actually watched the first episode. I haven't watched Survivor since the season with Colby and Jerri. I always liked the show, so I don't know why I stopped tuning in. I guess I just don't get as attached because there aren't any live feeds and I question the editing too much.

Anyway, the first episode went by too damn quickly, LoL. Russell made a bad first impression though. The lie about almost dying in Hurricane Katrina and watching his dog die in the flood waters was disgusting, considering all the people who actually died that way. But whatever. I'm sure he'll go home eventually.

Take a few minutes to swim for God's sake. If you don't want to swim fine but don't be all up on other people for not being super militant.
