Survivor Samoa

He's obviously comparing it to other more successful Survivor seasons. Second most viewed episode within a crappy season doesn't say much.

 And of course you had to refute what I say...

Sometimes, I don't even know why I bother posting here

Samoa is doing about as well as Tocantins did in terms of millions of viewers. The ratings have been slightly growing since the premiere (which barely even drew more viewers than Tocantin's reunion show... sad), but they're still not really setting the world on fire even compared to Gabon a year ago. But, like I said in a previous post, the ratings have been eroding naturally since roughly Palau.

I think the main problem with this season for me is that there's a villain but no heroes. The editors clearly want Russell to fill the "villain" role, which is bad enough because he's full of hot air, but how can I get into this season when there's no featured competition for him? And by heroes, I mean somebody... anybody who is likable. I mean, by default, I'd have to say that our hero is Natalie because she had a single confessional in which she hinted that she wasn't as dumb as Russell thought she was, and that isn't much of a heroine to me. Imagine Pearl Islands with Johnny Fairplay but no Sandra nor Rupert.

Galu finally has been receiving airtime, but the most of their time goes to Shambo. Are we supposed to like her, even though she's an incompetent outcast who has no social or strategic game and even loses chickens and fishing gear? Is Erik the fan favorite because he found an immunity idol and... well, that's about it? Am I meant to like Liz because she lasted a TC or two longer than she should have, even though she was basically invisible and rolled over and died when she realized that she and Natalie were the targets last week? Who are John and Brett? Have they said more than a sentence yet?

Seriously, a bunch of invisible, boring and/or stupid people are our biggest "hero" characters this season? Laura got one snarky confessional a million weeks ago and then they featured her last night and she's actually kind of annoying. Jaison would be likable, but the last month or so has been him saying, "I'm cold. I'm tired. I'm wet. Whine whine whine. Captain Planet reference LOL!" I so miss the days when casting and/or editing knew what they were doing. I'm sure these twenty people aren't this boring in real life.

I don't know why you frequently get so pissy about these things. My post to you was a clarification because you clearly misunderstood his point. I was not snide in it, I didn't attack you, and I didn't say anything mean. I merely pointed out that you misunderstood another post because -- listen closely now -- you misunderstood another post.

Honestly, your last post was the intellectual equivalent of this:

Wrong Person: "The sky is green."

Right Person: "Actually, it's blue."

Wrong Person: "Waaa!!! Why did you have to refute what I said??:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: :roll::##:

Because you always have to say something even when it's not for you. And I never said the season was crap or good, I just gave an information about the season, nothing more.

And how is one to determine if a message is "for them." It's a public forum, dude. Everything is for everyone and everyone can reply to anything. That's the point of forums in general. IT doesn't make much sense to get angry at someone over that.

I think everyone knows here that you both always defend yourselves when someone attacks you or him. Except that this time, I didn't attack anyone, I just pointed out a fact and he even had to comment on that

Go ahead, keep insulting :) That's what you like to do here (and a lot it seems)

I saw your post before you edited it

^^ Still waiting for you to show me where I said -- in my original post -- that you attacked falconfan. But of course you can't (because this was never about that, except in your own head), so you're going to ignore that point. Just like you always do when you present a nonsense argument that you can't later defend.

And I hope everyone noticed that Aratron didn't reply to ANY of the points I raised, precisely because he knows he's wrong and made much ado about nothing.

Do you know how to read? I clearly said ''Except, this time, I didn't attack anyone''...

Also, since you've made this an issue about me and falconfan (which it isn't), I expect one of the board Lydias to jump in and cheer you on in exactly 5...4...3...2...1...

Says the pot to the kettle

Wow, you really do lack self awareness. I know the idiom. I just don't think it applies in your silly "analogy."

Anyway, can the rest of us who don't frequently post insensible, un-insightful and witless messages PLEASE talk about the fact that Jaison was obviously begging them to send him home and they still didn't? LOL. Also, I think I'm on Team Galu Guys now. The four of them played Shambo like a fiddle!

Silly analogy? And then I'm the one who lacks self-awareness? LOL Good one, Mr. I'm-better-than-everyone-else

and anotherRussel episode... thats it... he's going to make it to the end...

I'll keep on watching this season because I m still waiting for something to change...

It smells "show cancel"

Precisely. Remember that this was a show that once followed up the Superbowl, the biggest even in network television and which arguably took down NBCs unflappable Must See TV comedy block. Now it can't even carry it's night bleeding more adn more viewers each season and this one is no exception.

Finally, an interesting boot.

For, like, the first time this entire season, the editing didn't completely telegraph the person who left. I was hoping for another Borneo Gretchen clusterfuck with everybody voting for different people, but an unexpected outcome was nice too. I think it's kind of funny that Russell played his idol when he wasn't even danger, but Erik became just another one of many people who had the hidden idol but didn't play it and then got booted.

Hmm, I'm actually interested in seeing the fall-out of tonight's boot in next week's episode. Is that a first for this season? Hopefully the show is going to start picking up now that they've merged.

ETA: Once again, Shambo is such a dumbass. The only outsider vote except for the person who got eliminated for the second vote in a row.

So we learned two main things in this episode. Russell is much more insecure than he ever let on. And Eric has a big mouth.

Wow. Two idols gone in one shot. That was either sheer brilliance on someone's part, or just sheer luck.
