  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Swerve's BIG SUMMER ADVENTURE!!!

Looking forward to the videos!

Have fun!

(I'm jealous. When my little brother was in the Navy he screwed up and forgot to invite me and Mom. Would have been fun!)

OK -- here is my FIRST installment...

Last night I went out to the clubs -- and didn't get any photo's or video's -- BUT I DID wake up REALLY EARLY this morning and shot this video and some photo's...

Oh -- and it STOPPED RAINING -- YAY!!!

Well -- got a LOT that I want to do today -- but just wanted to throw these up here real quick...

:):):)

If you don't like the weather in Hawaii where you are - just go to the other side of the island.

](*,)](*,)

SWERVE - where are some more pictures and videos - we are waiting?

have a great cruise and we look forward to your reports and videos.

Well -- today I wandered around Waikiki (after an AWESOME breakfast at a restaurant a local guy told me about) -- and THEN decided to walk over to Diamond Head and find the trail leading up the mountain...

Here is the video...

:):):)

And here of some photo's...

I was talking with Nineofclubs today -- and he told me that these trees are called Banyon trees -- they're VERY COOL!!!

This is a cool statue (near the "gay" beach) of a surfer dude...

329453.jpg

This is Waikiki beach (also from the "gay" area)...

329454.jpg

This is a picture of Diamond Head taken RIGHT AFTER I decided "out of the blue" that I was going to "walk over there and climb it"...

329455.jpg

Here are some photo's of "The Climb"...

And NOW -- I'm going to get cleaned up and HIT THE CLUBS for ANOTHER FUN NIGHT!!!

Oh -- and RUBY -- EVEN THOUGH you REQUESTED it -- I can ASSURE you that IF I find myself dancing in ONLY a Hula skirt -- there WILL BE NO VIDEO!!!

Tomorrow is going to be an EXCITING DAY!!! I met this guy today that works as either a botanist or naturalist (study's plants in the rain forest) -- and we're going to meet up tomorrow afternoon -- where he said he is going to show me the REAL HAWAII!!! The fact that he looks like a MODERN DAY Tom Selleck (minus mustache) is just a PLUS!!! I'm going to go swimming and MAYBE parasailing prior to meeting up with him...

THEN on WEDNESDAY -- I'm going to go snorkeling out on Honaunoumou (sp?) bay...

THEN I'm going to start the NAVY side of the adventure!!!

:):)

Those are AWESOME pictures, Swerve!! ..|

Hope you get some pics of some hot sailors too.

No excuses.

The people demand video of the grass skirt hula dancing.

And Google will then post it on the Trucking website.

Awesome pictures Swerve...keep on posting and have a blast

Loved the video of Diamond Head!

Looking in both directions along the coast I could spot the two neighborhoods I lived in while on Oahu. Even the building itself in Waikiki.

Swerve, keep having fun!

Oh wow....that was very interesting. When I go to my Uncle's home in Honolulu, his living room window has a really good view of diamondhead. The home was originally my Grandfather's (that died before I was born) and Popo (Grandmother's).

Nice photographs and videos, Swerve!

Seemed like you had lots of fun right now.

I hope the weather gets better and there will be more sun, no more little rain showers within these days of your visit! :)

Well YESTERDAY was ANOTHER TOTAL BLAST!!!

I started out by going swimming in the ocean off of Waikiki Beach...

329588.jpg

Then I met up with Mitch for a tour of the "Real Hawaii"...

This is a cemetery (google like cemeteries) -- the cool thing about them down here is that they bury the remains at alternating levels -- thereby utilizing the limited available space better...

329589.jpg

Oh -- and the families leave "favorite things" of the deceased on the grave markers -- here is one I found interesting...

329590.jpg

This is a BURIAL CAVE (for royalty) -- and Mitch is the center of attention while explaining the ancient drawings on the rock..

329591.jpg

This is a Cook Pine Tree -- interesting, because Captain Cook brought them to Hawaii back in 1774 so that he would have an available supply of wood for mast repairs for his boats -- the problem was that they grew MUCH FASTER here then where they came from -- and because they grew FASTER -- the wood was SOFTER -- something like that...

329592.jpg

This is the Indian Banyon tree -- it is different from the Chinese Banyon (pictured previously) in that it has white bark...

329597.jpg

These pictures are taken from Pali Point (or lookout) -- in the FIRST picture I am looking out towards Los Angeles (2400 miles away )...

And...

We then went to a heiau (a sacred place) -- these rocks are actually VERY SPECIAL -- and kind of difficult to explain -- but going back to 400 AD -- people would carry these from the North shore -- and instill in them "good thoughts" -- Like I said, its difficult to explain it in writing -- but it was a VERY SPECIAL place to visit...

After getting back to Waikiki -- Eternaldarkness made my day (and trip) even BETTER by meeting up with me for a few drinks!!! (!)

TODAY is my TRANSITION day where my family start arriving (a little later) -- and then tomorrow we board the Navy ship!!! :D

Hey, more excellent fotos. Some of it reminds me of my dad's village in rural Hong Kong, especially the Indian banyon tree pics. The broad heart shaped shiny leafed plants near the lower middle grows in kinda marshy land. Literally, we call them 'itchy edoes'. Edoes and yams are prolly quite popular over there.
