Sy Rogers … no longer gay

As a friend's new gf puts it, making love is a lot more fun and exciting when you don't have to stop because a knee just went out or a hip froze up -- and when you can go all night instead of stopping for two-hour naps every twenty minutes.

From my (limited) experience - tongue and hands are the key things that need to keep working - hips and knees are less essential.

Also no one can really keep going "all night" except on a "first date"

Just another Professional Ex-Gay.

The vast majority of these people either work directly for the "ex-gay" organization/ministry, or they have written books of their own, or they are the poster-boys who make their living touring with the organization/ministry. (etc.)

In short, they are where the money is... until they slip-up and prove that they aren't really straight after all, such as in the cases of former "ex-gay super-stars" Christopher Austin, Colin Cook, Michael Johnston, Terrance Lewis, and John Paulk to name a few.

His day will come.

The Kinsey Institute has had an open offer for nearly 40 years to report on a single case of a true change in sexual orientation, not just behaviour. In 40 years there has not been a single scientifically documented case of changed sexual orientation.

You'd think that these ex-gay groups would be clamouring for that type of publicity and approval, right? Heck, if even one of them had a program that 'really' worked, why don't they all use it?

This is just a money racket. Nothing different than any other scam, except it is (in many ways) more despicable.

Interesting -- I didn't know about that offer!

The Human genetic code was thrown out of whack, and that this is the reason for some of us being Gay. Remember this is just a theory, just as evolution is a theory. Yes, I can be wrong.

A theory is backed up with facts and evidence to prove conclusions or disprove them. Science never declares a certainty, only fools are sure.

Your idea is mostly what you made up to feel better and relate a very old book to a world beyond imagination 2 millennium ago. There are some good points and you have made a framework and relationship with your deity which is brilliant!

Evolution has proven itself many times when dealing with bacteria that adapt to drugs or insects that develop an immunity to a pesticide; don't lump the two together.

On topic however hating oneself, a creation of god, seems sinful. Its like saying remake the mountains they displease me. Remake the world I despise the color of the sky. Change for a valid reason is one thing, change because some blood sucking money whore says so is another. Its his life but I wouldn't defend and I can condemn it because he would be used as a weapon against me and mine.

I also take into consideration that since the fall of Adam and Eve, the Human make-up was most certainly twisted, and therefore, this is just a theory of mine; The Human genetic code was thrown out of whack, and that this is the reason for some of us being Gay.

Good point on evolution. Mikey, what you have is a hypothesis (if you can think of a way to test it) or conjecture (if you can't -- which doesn't mean there is no way to test it, just that you haven't thought of one).

But, Todd, I have to disagree with your second paragraph. Mikey's conjecture (because I haven't thought of a way to test it) starts with the Catholic faith as truth, consults science, and asks what could have happened that we have gay people. I don't see where it has anything to do with him "feel[ing] better".

It does, however, have a serious problem taken on the foundation where he sits: if human DNA has drifted such that a small portion of the race now has same-sex attraction, what's with the rest of the animal kingdom? How is it that wolves, hyenas, chimpanzees, and an awful lot of other vertebrates have the same sort of drift? If it's in the DNA, that means a mutation, or (more likely) a set of mutations, and the odds of a whole array of species having mutations that have the same result are... preposterous.

It's not unreasonable to presume that if God created everything and called it "very good" that the DNA was perfect (with the implications of the meaning of that word in the original). But given that, and given what we know about genetic divergence, the best conclusion is that the DNA behind all these species having the same divergent behavior is that it emerges from a common ancestor. And in that case, it isn't just the "Human genetic code... thrown out of whack", but that of a very early mammal or vertebrate.

If any sort of god were to exist, he would be perfectly compatible with homosexuality and the expression of homosexuality in the flesh.

Enduring unavoidable suffering with grace, intelligence, and humility might have merit.
But slamming your fingers with a hammer so you can cause the suffering which one then professes to endure would surely be detestable in the eyes of any worthy god.

Condemning oneself for an inherent, natural, healthful, physical appreciation of the beauty of another man is like hitting oneself with the hammer.

Pretending and preaching that suppressing in oneself this inherent, natural, healthful physical appreciation amounts to some kind of accomplishment is a mistaken and hateful idea that should be ignored.

amen, bro. Gay is good and sacred. Now what one does with hishomo/bi sexuality is another story! Do good and harm no one and you'll be fine!! Enjoy your sexuality responsibly.
