Re: Should LGBT/queer teachers be open to their students?

I said no detail, not "Oh please, I'm dying to be part of a comment section where the audience participation is likely being considered emotional wank fodder." And unpaid at that, ya cheapo.

Look, no one here is qualified and available to help you. And you posting topics like this doesn't help yourself, you're doing it for all the wrong reasons.

Hey hey, you brought it up. You said that I had past particular anecdotes in mind, and I did. Just because you're not interested, doesn't mean someone else wouldn't be.

Re: Should LGBT/queer teachers be open to their students?

Your elementary school principle let you bearhug him and took you to Wendy's? I'm thoroughly convinced at least 10% of what you write is made up. Even the way you descibed that post sounded like a script, the vivid details and explanations, that's not even how people tell stories.

Rarely will I take it upon myself to speak for the JUB populus but I can state unequivocally that none of us want to read your weird fantasy teacher-minor fetish stories. The only thing you were missing was the star athlete hot jock having to stay after class the same day you were stranded waiting for a ride.

No, I said I suspected you wrote the post with something particular in mind. That is, a different motive for a seemingly innocuous question, not a question posed for the 'mere' gathering of opinion or curiosity. When I ask a question I ask the damned question. I don't wander around posting badly-veiled 'all about me now pls shore up my mental/social deficiency" threads. It shows exactly how you care about other people.

You are obvious. But we can't help you. Go help yourself.

- And I didn't read your teacher/minor tale. I scrolled right on by, and what a lovely glow that gave me. Also the last time I wonder aloud why you had regular moderation. That needs to go back on toot-sweet.

Re: Is having a racial/body/personality preference preference okay?

See now you're fucking things up even further.

Why is it self hate, If I'm not attracted/am attracted to something?

I'm not attracted to 50 Cent. I'm just not. We have the same complexion yes, but I'm just not attracted to him.

I'm attracted to Action Bronson though. The fact he's still more urban but fair is dismissive. It really is. I'm just attracted to him.

That's just how my brain is. It doesn't mean I hate 50 Cent or want some type of validation. I don't.

I just like what i like.

You aren't self-aware enough to give a detailed... anything about any of the intricacies of your brain. It'd like grading your own paper. I know a therapist is beyond your financial resources but that doesn't mean you can't find a pastor or an LGBT advocacy group that might offer some form of counseling or at least group therapy. At least consider the fact that everyone here on JUB, who can't really agree on anything, unanimously think you need professional help.

Re: Should LGBT/queer teachers be open to their students?

I have friends who are and were teachers.
One is a couple, both teachers, but are now retired.
The husband taught early grades while his wife taught in middle school.
The husband is a very caring man and would do anything to help his students but when supposed improprieties began to emerge she implored her husband to NEVER EVER enter a restroom alone to help a young boy who may have peed in his pants or worse.
Given the above example can you imagine how this would play out with an openly gay male teacher?
Yeah......not good.
Sadly stereotypes persist and it seems they always will.
Even at the university level I don't think knowing your instructor's sexuality would be helpful.
And even if it did serve a purpose there will always be that line between student/teacher relationships.

Re: Should LGBT/queer teachers be open to their students?

No. It could lay them open to false allegations or blackmail, simple as.

Re: Is having a racial/body/personality preference preference okay?

It doesn't matter whether or not anyone thinks it's OK. Preferences exist.

Re: Should queer people be open at their workplace?

The other staff in the practice know that i am married to a man, the patients do not.

No-one at work knows about our "sexual adventures", there are just some things that you do not share with the workforce, who shagged who last night, being one of them.

Re: Is gay for pay porn damaging to the gay/queer male community?

Once you are able to differentiate fantasy from reality, i don't think so.

Re: Should queer people be open at their workplace?

Very much so.

Tho I do think there should be some level of decorum involved in most circumstances, keep the flirting and ribald adventures specifically to a minimum at work, or at least muttered quietly with the understanding that others shouldn't overhear. Which i thought was usually done in any case, minus o'course some of the immature early twenty something crowd and all the thinly veiled "it was only a compliment's". There needs to be some sort of social etiquette line that indicates separation from work and other duties, protects the sanity of all involved. Personal boundaries and suchlike, rather important. It's just, I personally don't care what the info contains in a negative or positive light, I just want to go about my business with as little misunderstanding as possible. And there's no sexual question or commentary where it's unlikely that I'd be screwed 'bout the response in some fashion.

Well if you don't believe it you don't believe it. Take everything on the internet as a grain of salt yes. But these are my experiences.

Hey yo, you're taking this way too damn far.

I don't give a fuck if gay men don't find me attractive as black man. I do give a fuck if they respect me though.

I would never disrespect anyone like that.

People have preferences and it's okay.

That doesn't mean I'm crazy, self hating, any of that, for what turns me on or off. It's just the way it is.

Why waste my time with something I'm not attracted to?

You see it as self hate, or as an internal problem. I see it as attraction and what I like. That's it.

You need to understand that.

Re: Is having a racial/body/personality preference preference okay?

Also I have a hard time understanding guys who never find anyone short hot even if they usually like tall guys. Have a hard time understanding guys who never find anyone with a beard hot when they usually like smooth guys. Etc. Really? Never??

Very true indeed. I generally like Thai more than Chinese, but have met some very very hot Chinese guys. So I don't understand people with a blanket statement as "NO FATS. NO FEMS. NO ASIANS."

There are always exceptions to your own rules and I for one would hate to miss them.

Re: Should LGBT/queer teachers be open to their students?

Yes, because all kids need role models. Gay teachers are a role model for gay children. And for the straight ones.

The other day I was at a restaurant and there was only one child, a boy with his father and a French woman who must have been his father's new girlfriend. They were sitting nearby and I could hear them talk. The boy had a bunch of miniature action figures and was explaining to his dad that there was one thing he didn't approve about his superheroes: "They are all boys! This one is the only girl. Well, and this one is boy who looks like a girl. Maybe he feels more like a girl and will become one, I don't know." The woman asked "but do you like him?" To which the boy looked up surprised and said "of course. But we still need more girl superheroes."

The kid got these liberal values from being exposed to them. More kids need that experience.

Re: Should LGBT/queer teachers be open to their students?

Personally I don't think any teacher should discuss their private life with pupils.
There should be very clear boundaries between personal and work life
