Her target audience is girls who just started getting their period (and apparently have parents who give them too much allowance). Same with Jo Bros, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, et al. Anyone who pays attention to mainstream music is where they are.

sort of does feel like if she should be thanking anyone for all these last several awards it ought to be Kanye for giving her victim status.

Which was waaay over played to begin with. He was drunk & rude, and people reacted as if he punched her in the face. It was the MTV VMAs of all things and she was 19. Grow some balls and get over it.

LOL, i can't argue with that point jizz, regardless of how irrelavent her music still is to me(i still haven't cared enough to hear her perform, as most country doesn't do it for me, and country/pop has to be even worse). You got me there.

Um, Beyonce is nearly 30, as far as we know. Allegedly, she should be about 37.

Hate her because you feel she wasn't deserving of the nomination? Most of the people weren't - DMB were, bar none, the most talented of the bunch. Brilliant longevity. Always humble, never sold out - i may not get completely into their sound, but people raving about Gaga and forgetting them shows a bias, and a bias only.

I like DMB, but the moment they started exploiting their music for money, they sold out. In addition, they're on RCA, a subdivision of a major label. I'm sorry, but that's selling out.

a TV audience of 25.8 million Americans to the Grammy Awards -- the biggest TV audience for the telecast in six years, according to preliminary television ratings on Monday.

The 3-1/2 hour music awards show on CBS on Sunday enjoyed a 35 percent increase on last year and was the most-watched Grammy telecast since 2004, according to early date from Nielsen.

I miss the days of good music rather than manufactured music.
I feel that it all started in the late 90's with the advent of N*Sync, Backstreet Boys, Spice Girls, Britney Spears and all the others.
Now not saying none of the people are talented, with the exception of Britney. But they were all manufactured by the record company. They knew exactly who they were targeting.

A Twitler Swift is exactly the same its a shame that her real talent is going to get lost in the shuffle

Yea I can't stand her. Not only her country music but also her goody goody image. Its great to be humble but damn she just makes you hate her. It so boring, I'm like yawnnn. Her songs are also so negative, its like every song is about a boy that likes her and she can't believe it! I agree with the OP.

I like her, but I don't love her. I thought she was cute when she 1st came out with Teardrops on my guitar but now she's waaaaay to overexposed.

Her music really isn't any more deep than a Miley Cyrus/Jonas "tween" song, yet she gets treated as the next big miracle worker in music.
