I come back to this site after a long long time and here's Andreus again. I remember him. We've had some quarrels. Btw, he claimed he could speak Arabic, but the sample he provided was jibberish.

Isn't Jibberish a sub-saharan dialect of Arabic? From the Jibbera tribe?

Yes, if Andreus was using google translate it may have caused all sorts of problems trying to convince someone fluent in the languages he claimed to know. I tried a little experiment. I took your sentence :

translated it into Azerbaijani, and then that result into Albanian and then back into English and this is the result :

I just spent (wasted) a whole Monday afternoon plowing through this thread from beginning to end. The one thing that surprises me is that, around the middle mark of the 1300+ postings here, Sex Kitten (who we all now know is merely another incarnation of the OP Enchanted) asked for people to PM him to share some information he had about Andreus. What that information was or why Sex Kitten made the request was never explained.

Why the interest of Enhanted/Sex Kitten/Waffles in this long-dead character Andreus baffles me, especially given E/SK's very self-absorbed personality.

I remember talking to Croynan many years ago and he mentioned this thread. There are times that I still think of Dreu. I have no idea what his real name was. It does not matter to me. I have always tried to keep my real name off the internet because the internet has always been known for people scamming people. My real name is not metta. I have friends that have called me that but it is not my real name. I don't know how honest Dreu was, but he was well-spoken. I do believe that he was Muslim. I don't know if the photos he posted were of him or not. But I still think he was real. I don't know how much of what he said was true or not but I don't think it was all fake either. The strangest thing was the login. I wonder if it is possible that someone was on his old computer, and went through his browser history, and logged in from there. Maybe that is a stretch. I don't know, but that was my first thought as a possibility.

A couple of comments.

The internet, by its very nature, is a very verbal place. It evolved at the same time desktop publishing became a thing. We have had numerous members on JUB spin elaborate fantasies of gay lives not actually lived in the real world, and not with malice, per se. They seem to be OCD about both deception and detailed deception.

I can easily imagine why a crusader would create a gay Muslim character on an American/Canadian website to battle with the reactionary forces they themselves created. Just one example was a violently anti-Muslim post that Stryker made against Andreus at the time, and he got banned for it. I saw the post with my own eyes.

Andreus was lithe with lyrics and with poetry of his own. Whoever he was/is, he had a muse by the tail. He and Kahil romped the board, spammed threads with GIFs, and were both a joy and a pest, depending on whom they targeted. The very fact that Khalil is a name that would be an all-too-obvious code that the 2nd person was created as a sidekick, as the name means friend.

I remember him lingering on the forum, a bit lost after Andreus' departure, and he eventually joined up with American Eagle, and I spoke with him by phone once or twice. If he was indeed a created persona, then that means I was speaking with Andreus when I did.

Since that long ago time, we have seen that same pattern recur on the forum, not once, but at least thrice.

One other point stands out in my memory. Andreus used to taunt Corny with a description of how he was using VPNs or whatever to log in and route through servers wherever and be untraceable. I wasn't then, nor am I now, knowledgeable in the ways of stealth internetting, but I am fairly certain it is possible, else all the scams would not be possible.

As I posted before, and probably in this thread if I were to comb through it, I enjoyed his posts, and miss him regardless of his purpose or identity.

How very unfortunate that over 300 posts are missing from the thread. One presumes that this is from members asking to delete their accounts back when the site policy deleted all their posts.

Not only had I forgotten he had a blog, I forgot I had posted multiple comments to him, and gotten replies to some.

2006 was soooo long ago. I was a different Jason then in large degree.
