Tennis Anyone?

I thought her performance at Wimbledon was spectacular.

Yes, she's been out and about for quite some time now. It's a good sign that it is no longer a cause for comment. There's hope for the world yet.
(!) (!) (!)

It took me about a year of knowing who she was before I found out she was a lesbian. I respect her for not hiding it and she seems like a pretty decent person, but I still don't like her as a tennis player, lol. I don't really know why!? This year she's just beaten too many people that I just love. Although my pacients with Henin is wearing thin. She needs to STOP BEATING KIM!

In other news, I broke my foot 2 and a half weeks ago playing tennis, of course. I'm so pissed off becuase I've already missed one tournement and I'm missing a major zone this weekend, but I better not miss sectionals for my team in two weeks or I'll really be mad. Hopefully it'll be ready by then, though. Cross your fingers for me!

Hi Havoc:

Sorry to hear about your tennis injury and forced absence from play  . I really suffer from withdrawal symptoms from tennis addiction when I can't play. ](*,) :grrr:
Get well soon. Fingers crossed! In a few months it will just seem like a minor perturbation. ..|

I have to go off on a trip next week for a month and am unhappily not going to be able to play tennis until September. :help:

Thanks Captain! I know I wont even think about it in a couple of months, but for now it blows. It shouldn't be too much longer though!

Yuck! I'd take my racquet and find a court, lol. That really sucks though. I know what it's like to take time off of tennis, it blows. I'm worried about what I'll look like when I come back, lol. It's gonna be like giving a 4 year old a racquet and saying, "have at it!"

Anyone see Tomas Berdych against Nadal today? It looks like he's gotta big dick, his bulge was everywhere

Yeah, Amelie Mauresmo rules. Now all we need is Nadal to come out and we'll have top gay players on both sides.

Don't try and tell me Rafael is straight, any guy who puts his ass out in the window like that kid is definetly inviting guys to have a look.

Nadal has to be gay & i have my questions about Federer.

it would be damn cool if roger was & came out.
-the best player ever- a homo?

score!

From what i have heard Wimbledon is the only slam with a process that allows
slight favortisim, but only if the person has performed well on that surface (grass) i think that is why they get away with it beside its prestiege, its played on a surface that only exists for less than a month a year, so yeah.

the seeds are set up so that 1, 2 meet in a final and 3, 4 in semis and so on ...so if you tinker with one player you kinda have to tinker with them all to get a player a super easy draw.*shrug*

I will have to see pictures of Roger in flagantra heterosa to believe.
i just can see it... maybe he is Bi?

-either way i don't care-
it's just the whole girlfriend/publicist/manager is too easy and they seem like brother/sister.

Kim Clijsters injured her wrist in Montreal and may be out of the US Open

Any medical updates on Kim's status?

I think she's officially out of the US Open, which is disappointing. Her wrist injury, after an MRI and other tests, was deemed more severe than originally believed. I think the article I read said that she would again be out for at least 2 months.

Poor Kim, the girl cannot get a break. It's bad enough that her wrist was hurting again in the 1st place, but then she goes and falls on it making it worse... I know she is retiring next year, but with the way her luck has been i'm not so sure she will make it....

BTW off topic but did anyone see Nadal lose today? Fererro played some great tennis. It reminded me of when he was #1 a couple of years ago... Now that both Federer AND Nadal have been knocked out (you don't hear that often) I think Roddick has a great chance to win... he needs it bad. A win here could turn his year around...

Sure, without Federer who doesn't seem to be himself lately, and Nadal who's had little success durring the summer hardcourt season, Andy has a decent chance. But Fernando Gonzalez is a tough player. Nadal lost to JCF, bad loss, not a good hardcourt player. And Tommy Robredo won't do any damage. Even if winning the Cincinnati Masters will give Roddick some confidence I doubt it'll help much when it comes to the US Open.

Roddick just won in Cincinnati! I'm very happy for him. He came out against Ferrero and just stepped on the peddle. It was nice to see him playing the kind of tennis he played a few years ago. With this win, Roddick has also clenched the US Open Series. So congrats to him!

On the womens side, Hingis is in the Final in Montreal. She beat Kuznetsova pretty convincingly and she has a really good chance of taking the whole thing and winning her second title of the year. She just broke into the top ten for the first time since 2002! Rain is really slowing down play, but she'll face either Ivanovic or Safina. I think she should be the favorite against either one of them. They've just got the blowers out, so hopefully they'll get playing before too long.

Clijsters! NOOO! I'm so sad. It really sucks for her. She was finally starting to play again this summer, and the summer hard courts really suit her game. It just sucks for her.

Two hotties are Blake and Nadal they would make cut double partners in bed.

Yeah, that sucks for Lindsay. I really like her. Saw her once at a Fed Cup tie. She's a great player and seemingly a great person.
I would love to see a Roddick/Federer final at the US Open but Andy has his work cut out for him if he wants to be in the final. I'm rooting for him though. On the women's side, I'd love to see a Hingis/Davenport final. I'd like Serena to get to at least the quarters but not win the title, which is doubtful anyway considering her lack of match play. Even a Hingis/Davenport final is wishful thinking with Mauresmo and Henin playing so well. Sharapova is likely to make some noise as well. The women's side is not nearly as deep as the men's side. I think the potential for upsets is more on the men's than the women's. That being said, I'd love to see Andy and Davenport win the titles. I know they're both long shots but they are who I would pull for. But realistically speaking it's probably going to be Federer and Henin.

I honestly don't think I could of said it any better myself. Except for the whole Serena thing. I want her out in the first round. She annoys me.

Hi Havoc::wave:
I'm back in town but haven't lifted a racquet yet. Lots of excitement elsewhere. Andre staged quite a comeback last night! Even Andy R. is doing well!
I must start watching more of the ladies.

Welcome back Captain! Good to have you back! I went about a month and half without playing tennis because I broke my foot, but I'm better now. My team just won sectionals and we're going to nationals at the end of Sept!!!

I'm glad Agassi won his last match, and I REALLY hope he wins his next one, but I'm not really expecting him to. Baghdatis has been very good this year. Hopefully Agassi will pull it out though.

The girls aren't going to be having a great tournement. Henin, Davenport, and Hingis are really the only ones that I enjoy watching at this point. Hopefully it'll be Davenport and Hingis (although I think we all know that's not gonna happen.)
