Texas GOP Platform Calls For Imprisonment of Homosexuals

I'm noticing a few things about that platform. One: the GOP platform would have all LGBT rights gained over the past 40 years rolled back. Two, related to one: they wish to illegalize sodomy, again.

Texas Sodomy Statutes – We oppose the legalization of sodomy. We demand that Congress exercise its authority granted by the U.S. Constitution to withhold jurisdiction from the federal courts from cases involving sodomy.

Three: they wish to make pornography illegal.

Pornography – We urge our governmental bodies to enforce laws regarding all forms of pornography. We urge more stringent legislation to prohibit all pornography including virtual pornography and operation of sexually–oriented businesses. We oppose the sale of “Not Rated” (NR) movies and video games to minors.

Four: it expresses a lack of understanding of the difference between scientific theory and scientific law.

We believe theories of life origins and environmental theories should be taught as challengeable scientific theory subject to change as new data is produced, not scientific law.

I used to have Libertarian friends in Texas who constantly prayed the the Texas GOP would just open up and put everything the really want in their platform. They figured there are enough Goldwater Republicans there that they could take the Libertarian Party and the Goldwater Republicans and put together a Liberty Party that could kick ass.

Sounds to me like as good a place (and way) as any to start unraveling the GOP into its two components: the Liberty Republic people and the Tight-Ass Religious Bigot people.

If the Texas GOP has to use fear and hate to get into power, one has to wonder what they are hiding.

Texas Democrats have some problems of their own. Are you familar with Kesha Roberts, their candidate for the 22nd Congressional district in November? She's Texas' own Alvin Greene. Rogers is described as a full-time activist in the Lyndon LaRouche Youth Movement who's also called for the impeachment of Obama.

Republicans wail all the time against government intervention into personal lives, but they sure like to dictate what other people do in their personal lives.

They don't want anyone telling them what to do, especially the government, but then they try like the dickens to enact laws to invade the private of others who don't agree with them.

They want to get into women's wombs, criminalize men who love men, teach YOUR kids their religion, allow anyone to carry an instrument in their pocket that would kill you if they lost control their temper. Make an entire group of people second-class citizens. Break up families. Refuse to let you have medical treatments because of their superstitions.
