I still can't believe the airfare from Cleveland to FLL and FLL to Philadelphia was $45. Granted, no baggage. But I can get by with a midsize backpack.
The lowest bus fare is around $85. Amtrak charges $92.

BTW, how did the trip back to Ft. Lauderdale on Brightline go? I have never ridden on that train.
 
Confession time! I didn't take Brightlne. They wanted $26 for the next train. If I waited until 7pm it would be $16. Even so...I walked back to Tri-Rail. And their train had issues and couldn't go at full speed! Ah, me.
 
Hey Thad, I'm glad you had a good flight back to Philly, though it's really cold for you back home.

I'm sorry you had those issues with Brightline, and you had those delays with TriRail. I remember riding TriRail on a regular basis in the early 90s when they were just getting started, when they had all kinds of delays. I was hoping that they could get all the bugs straightened out, but apparently not.

So I see that you're in Cleveland again. I think you spend as much time there as you do at home. Maybe you should get a second residence there.

And I see that you're planning to go to Just Us Boys meetup in Washington. Someone asked about a possible meetup in Florida a couple of months ago, and I made a couple of suggestions. I wasn't going to take on the project myself if nobody was interested. Alas, there was no response. I know there have been meetups in Florida in the past, but nobody seems to want to do it these days.

What is/was this about a JUB meetup in Washington? And, WHICH Washington? It's now a couple months later, so I'm probably late, but "inquiring minds want to know" (and possibly attend).
 
Oh, I met Jason (NotHardUp1) in Washington DC in the fall. It was a day trip for me, and just the two of us. He came up from Alabama for that underwhelming protest; I came the day before.

I plan to do Northalsted Market Days again in August. I'll browse the details but I'm sure the entertainment roster won"t be set. Last year David Archuleta was amazing and I saw most of my favorite Chicago bands.

I fly to Florida Sunday and plan Monday with John (Araucaria). Then Thursday it's on to Cleveland and a weekend with Rickrock. We'll be seeing the Martha Graham Dance Company downtown Saturday night

I’m sorry about your flight being canceled. I checked the Philadelphia forecast for Sunday, and it is terrible, I looked at that and said “You’re not getting out of there.” I look forward to having lunch with you when you can get down here. In the meantime make sure you’re warm and safe and well-stocked with food and supplies.
