Bush was on the beginning of me paying attention, but the war divided the community and even my family. In my life, it is all trash talk from both sides. There is no middle ground that I've ever seen. It's pretty much made me conservative. If you can't say anything nice, just don''t say anything at all and run for office.

Obama was (and still is) hated because he is black. Trump is hated because he's a useless president who loves golf more than he does the United States.

And he's being mocked and ridiculed because he deserves it. He's hardly being savaged.

Simply put, Trump is extremely unpopular across the world, and America's image is suffering as a consequence, according to a new survey from Pew Research Center.

The survey also found views of the United States were decidedly better when Barack Obama was president, and he was far more popular as he left the White House (back in January 2017, which often feels like years ago at this point) than Trump is now.

Given Trump has repeatedly butted heads with foreign leaders, taken an extreme stance on immigration and consistently demonized Muslims, it's not that surprising to see he's less popular than Obama, who favored a more diplomatic approach to foreign affairs and generally had a more global mindset.

Your mistake is in beliving that it is valid to attribute that attitude to all or most of his opposition. Colin Powell was the great favorite of Republicans before he declined to run.

If Obama wanted socialized medicine, why didn't he propose that? What he actually got us was a government guarantee of customers for insurance companies and government money to help pay for insurance without requiring them to make deductibles and co-pays low enough for millions of people to be able to afford to use their insurance -- an incredibly sweet deal for the companies!

To the extent that the government subsidizes premiums, it is socialism, and that will be expanded to provide free care for at least half the country, and it is only the beginning. Price controls, comprehensive regulations etc are all socialism, especially when the total effect is considered.

Not in that post, but I have said it, and I stand by what I said. Past posts on Benvolio's part are enough evidence that what I claimed is true. He has posted no evidence anywhere that I know of to dispute it.
