The 80/20

^Imagine what the country would be like if there had been one less Republican on the Court in 2000. It amazes me; all the bad rolls of the dice that ended up giving us Bush for eight years, the world could have been a different place. Now I wonder if Americans have learned anything after eight years of conservative government?

We haven't had eight years of conservative anything.
Bush has outspent Clinton.
The government has grown bigger by several degrees under his watch.

Doesn't sound like classic conservatism to this Libertarian.

I'd like to see a candidate promise to cut the budget of every federal department by 5% a year for two or three years. Make all those bureaucrats justify whatever the heck it is that they are doing with our money.

^By your definition, Clinton was a conservative and Reagan/Bush are liberals. I think there is something wrong with your definition.

The small government/minimal spending idea is nothing but a myth. It is nostalgia. We don't live in small towns or in an agrarian isolated country. It will not happen, nor should it as long as there are a multitude of problems to address. A better barometer would be efficiency, competency and effectiveness.

Efficiency, Competency, Effectiveness? In Government? Surely you jest.

Do you feel better now?

Have you got all of that off of your strong masculine chest?

Can I get all up in your shit, in a New York minute?

Can I take my Texas time doing it?

Can this Texas Boy get some HAWT Chance1 loving?

Cuz I'm thinking that what you really need is a real Man.

Someone who'll let you howl at the moon, and encourage you to do so.

These other pussies, these whiney ass bitches who call you names, and question your manhood? I suspect that they're too busy fucking their fists with spit to worry about really finding someone of substance.

Someone who matters.

I'll be whatever you want!

I'll be your man-whore.

Just so long as you allow me to have my way with that hawt jock ass of yours! *|*

I'll be the President of the Chance1 fan club.

Provided that we get down to business, and leave the 80|20 to the whiney ass, pussy bitches.

I feel the same actually - there's nothing I listed that I haven't written before

I do have a strong masculine chest - who told u ?? ;)

I have a real Man thank you - it's been a pretty good run

Howling at the moon is a lot of fun

my hawt jock ass is taken - for now that is - things have a way of changing however so .................:sex:

Applications are now being accepted for the fan club

However, to date, you are the sole applicant - I think we need to fund raise

but strange good

(!)

Quick review of the above finds:

IC07 - never thought u were in the 80 - never

Spring - didn't know a mod could be so nasty in such an open way - but ur living proof - and for someone who suggests "no one cares", you may have made the longest response - hypocrisy in action? perhaps ur a closet 20?

Random - love how u focus on "you need to prove the media shows liberal bias" - love it

Stryfe - never heard from u before - thanks for coming - I do love the underdog - I must take issue with your connection between dissent and personal attacks - I only have a problem with the latter which is the defense mechanism of the 80 - when u have the "majority", u can (try) to get away with that

Smelter - dear Smelter - can u please send me ur post in a darker color - I always enjoy ur shit - always - ur an 80 with heart

Roland00 - everyone needs to get drunk now and then - perhaps ur right about this - but I wrote this only because I get so many questions about the 80 thing - I dig u and remember the great advice u gave me a while back (I hope u remember cause I do)

Alfie - almost forgot (this is an edit job) - the ringleader of the 80 - who gives all of u a terribly bad association - it's like my mom told me - who u hang with says a lot about u

To those of u who ask about the 20 - basically the 20 agree with some of the things the 80 does - just not to the extent - the 20 don't think the war is going wel - the 20 don't think GWB is doing a good much less great job - the 20 default to America is great cause it is - we are the greatest nation in the world - right now we're in a slump - gotta get out of it - and we're optimistic that we will - we comment about Fox after watching it - and don't think it isn't biased - it is - but given the other nets, well, why focus on Fox? - Joe Lieberman is a mature bipartisan senator to be proud of - not to be agreed with all the time - worrying about treatment of terrorists is terribly misguided - we acknowledge good things by all regardless of their party affiliation

I could go on, but according to springsbok I shouldn't - and he's a mod

There was nothing nasty in my comments at all. I was explaining my stances and my disappointment in your choices of words. I am a participating member here, too, ya know. I'm allowed to do that.

See, there are only about 3 things in here which I vehemently disagree with:

1. "the 20 default to America is great cause it is - we are the greatest nation in the world" -- Every nation inculcates its citizens to believe they are the greatest in the world, which is what makes nationalism so dangerous. And "cause it is" is not a good enough reason to believe something. That's like your parent saying "Don't do as I do, do as I say because I said so." It doesn't wash. If you choose to believe this is the greatest nation on the planet, then bully for you, so long as you don't close your eyes to the bad things this country does in its own "self-interests." Blind patriotism is as foolhardy as blind (religious) faith.

2. "Lieberman is [...] to be proud of" -- IMHO, he's a joke, plain and simple.

3. "worrying about treatment of terrorists is terribly misguided" -- I'm with ICO here. What is it going to take to get people to realize the whole "innocent until proven guilty" thing extends to those people this nation has kidnapped and imprisoned without charges, evidence or proof? If we don't worry about their treatment and make sure it's done in a " Truth, Justice & The American Way" fashion--the pre-Bush American Way, I mean, when it meant something good--we're slitting our own throats. Mark my words. And if we don't worry about their treatment, who the hell are we to scream and holler when our soldiers and civilian contractors are subjected to the same treatment? Just as guilty, with no solid ground on which to pitch that self-righteous fit.

See? I'm not so bad. And we're not so dissimilar, you and I.

I could go on, but according to springsbok I shouldn't - and he's a mod
Yeah, okay. Stop pretending you're so persecuted. You're treated no differently than any other JUBer here. I mean, I'm not pissing on your Bible or anything. :D

And it's spring-boks-fan. The Springboks are a rugby team in South Africa. I have no idea what a springsbok is. :p

I reread ur post - perhaps u r right and I am too sensitive about ur post

I take back the "nasty"

I am not blind to our faults as a nation - I just see the totality which is so innately good

Love Lieberman - love how the extreme wing of the party invested time and effort just to get him - to make a point - and put up a stooge as if - and Joe played it perfect - they (the dems) fucked him - so if he gives it back they deserve it

The terrorists rights thing we could go back and forth on - too long - I am not suggesting torture, although I am for very tough questioning - more to come later

No I guess we are not so dissimilar - but let's not have sex just yet - let's see how this goes

:p

Well pretty good for a rugby fan. He still has you a spot or two behind Tex for next thorough tongue lashing. But hey your on the list.
