The Amazing Race 16

Quote of the night...

From Brent: "They don't even understand their own language !"

Yes, hun. It couldn't possibly be that you are mangling it... It's far more likely no one in the country understands their language.

What a self-absorbed idiot....

 Dude is a fucking moron. I hope the cowboys win. I cannot stand the models and Jordan is such a whiner.

What a terrible finale not one single competitive challenge. It all came down the first ten minutes getting into first class, even though I thought the rules were you're not allowed to ride in first class (maybe it's you're not allowed to buy first class tickets, if so they should change it). I'm just pissed cowboys didn't win.

I'm not too excited about the winners, the challenges sucked. The memory challenge is usually the best challenge and makes or breaks a teams chances at winning, but this memory challenge was so easy.

Hmm....I really happy with the winners. It was an ok final episode. Not the most exciting, but I like the winners and I'm glad they won.

The only thing I didn't get....why did Jordan think it was going to help them to be 2nd in line to buy tickets on the same flight as everyone else.

I was going to wait until it aired on the west coast, but others had already posted.

Happy the brothers won. Good for them!! And kudos to Caite for pwning the sore lesbian losers (especially Brandy) in that little speech at the end.

yeah, this finale wasn't exciting, actually pretty boring, seemed the challenges on the final leg were pretty easy and simple. I too was disappointed with the final memory challenge...those are usually the best to watch, but I really didn't care who won.

At first I was laughing at the lesbians, but then when it seemed Caite was going to apologize, they totally were being poor sports and as much as I didn't like Caite, I'm glad she got that final word in of "well I'm standing up here and you're not"...funny how Carol and Brandy had nothing to say at that point...they proved to be sore losers after all.....

Boring season...hope next seasons is better...and the challenges get better!

As much as I disliked Carol and Brandy, Brandy was right. Caite and Brent should've U-Turned a stronger team. IE: Cowboys, Brothers, or Dectectives. If Carol and Brandy had made it to the final 3, they would've lost to the models, and anyony else, but they would've had a better chance. But in the end, karma is a bitch named Brandy. Sour Grapes anyone? I equally dislike Caite and Brent, but it is a game. You can't let other teams get in your head. I was all about the Cowboys, and I'm sad that they came in 2nd. Isn't there a rule that teams are forbidden from flying 1st Class? Or is it a rule you can't book 1st class tickets? That seemed to be the game changer. I think that the only ones to gain anything out of this season, are the Cowboys. They were so fun to watch! Good Gravy!

HAHA I'm glad the cowboys didn't win. I also thought it was amusing to see how whiny they were when things weren't going their way. Especially the part where they were clearly trying to intimidate Jordan by threatening to beat him up but not actually saying it.

Here's a crazy thought if you want to be second in line don't let someone stand infront of you until the very second before its time to buy tickets. I thought that whole thing was odd from an editing stand point though. The brother's had gotten a decent edit and they clearly went out of their way to include what was a minor spat that had no really effect other than to smear the eventual winner's image. Just odd from an editing standpoint.

I thought the memory challenge was remarkably easy but then I remember last leg it was some sort of stupid chip counting challenge. It's best when they don't know what's coming so they can't prepare for it. The challenge creators better think up something new for the next one.

Regarding airline tickets - the rule is that you must purchase economy class seats, but there is nothing to prevent the airline from upgrading you to 1st Class, it has happened before, Reichen and Chip in Season 4 for example.

Really dull finale. The advantage gained in departing the plane first and not making any mistakes was all they needed to win. The final challenge was too easy for words.

But a mediocre hour of TAR is still better than most hours in network prime time.

I disagree that it was a boring season, and I thought throughout this season the challenges were terrific. The first show had that tight wire walking that led to a teams downfall, literally. The war challenge, the bungee jumps all of it exciting to watch. and the final show wasn't what I wanted but it was exciting, even at times when the cowboys seemed to be catching up, or when the models seemed to catch up. I liked Dan and Jordan all right until they started showing their ugliness.

And that the cowboys didn't clock one of them showed their restraint over the classless brothers.

I did love the confrontation at the final line with the models and the lesbians. While it showed their harboring ill will it also showed that team model were idiots.

Not happy that the brothers won. I really liked them in the first few episodes, but in the past 2 or 3 weeks, they both have just been bitchy and nasty. I really wanted the cowboys to win.

The models - I kinda wished we could have seen them finish the show. Last time we saw them, they were climbing the tower. They didn't show them carrying the trunk or trying to solve the final puzzle, which I thought was weak. Everyone pretty much breezed through that. I liked how it was an equalizer in the past.

I REALLY confused about all the negative comments about the brothers. This season was without a doubt the most civil season the show has ever aired.

Compare it with the two seasons with Boston Rob from Survivor.

All this season's group have been less bitchy and nasty than any season I can remember.

There's a secret scene over at cbs.com with Jordan from Big Brother puts it all in perspective. Who would have thought he'd be the voice of reason.

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/amazing_race/video/?vs=Elimination+Station

Were you guys this hard on Sam and Dan from last season?

I would have preferred the cowboys winning, but the brothers is good enough....

"As long as it's not the models" is what I told myself all season long.

All in all, a good season I think. But WHEN is CBS going to get with the program and shoot this show in true HD widescreen ?

With all the gorgeous scenery, I can't believe they're still filming it in a 4:3 aspect ratio...

Oh well....

Hmm do you still love the cowboys knowing this?

Reality TV World: That's a couple of different times now in this interview that you guys have mentioned Jet apparently having some problem with Jordan. We really didn't see much of that on the show, can you elaborate on that a little bit.

.

CBS publicist: Let's talk about their strategic play on the show.

.

Dan Pious: Jet hates gays, yeah.

.

Jordan Pious: I mean, but he made comments about Carol and Brandy on the show.

.

Dan Pious: Yeah, Jet called Jordan a "****" Saturday night for absolutely no reason and Jordan just said hello to him, so there was something on the Race and I guess, in all fairness, there's some stuff that isn't shown and I think it's an important thing to get out.

sorry I can't post url yet..just add in the dot

Maybe there's more than what CBS wants us to see? and funny that the publicist was trying to change the topic. They obviously wanted to keep the family/heroine image of the cowboys after all.

I just read that article and it made my stomach turn.

I no longer feel the same about the cowboys as before, especially of Jet.

I felt that there was something off on Jet when in some of the CBS website clips, Carol and Brandy commented on Jet's behavior towards them without referring directly on his homophobic attitude. I now realize what they were inferring.

Even though I found Dan and Jordan annoying, I'm really proud of them. Both of them, Jordan for being a MAN (more so than Jet) and Dan for being a great loving older brother.

I read the article also and I have doubts. The reaction Jet and Cord had to the lesbians was a silly little thing. After Jet and Cord got a bus earlier than every one else Carol and Brandy approached them the next morning in a huff and wanted to know how they got a bus that no one else got. Cord and Jet said in a dr that all they did was ask questions and were not showing any love (Carol and Brandy). Carol and Brandy were not the warmest, most loving people ever. If CBS was so willing to show the animosity between the models and the lesbians I don't think they'd hide homophobia from the cowboys. As a matter of course, there was never any indication that Jet and Cord were homophobic. I just think Dan and Jordan were pissed because the cowboys tried to interrupt the Star Wars thingie. Dan and Jordan were the whiniest twosome. The pasta making Jordan was crying like a baby because his hands were cold. The tantrum in the taxi was one of the ugliest things I have seen on AR. And the putting the bag in front of J & C's was just entitlement. And when have you ever seen 2 brothers anywhere that hugged and 'i love you' as much as Dan had to do to Jordan. There is something way off about that. If someone else from the race had said that the cb's were homophobic I might take it seriously, but to my knowledge no one did. What I read it was all the bros putting down the cbs.

I'm still confused...the cab thing? Every season people yell at their cab drivers. Models did it in almost every cab they got into.

I really don't understand (especially on this website) all the negative feelings about the brothers.

I just don't get it...they played a very clean game until the last 2 legs.

Dan and Jordan were the whiniest twosome?
Not compared to Sam and Dan the gay brothers from season 15. Football coach Joe was a bigger whiner Dan and Jordan. Every 2 seconds he told us how much his knee hurt.

I liked the cowboys and would have been ok with them winning. But, my god everyone (not just on this website) treats them like they're gods. Why?

Do not let the editors fool you. The Cowboys played just as dirty (if not, dirtier than others) as everyone else. Cord intentionally hid Caite's money bag with his VR outfit. Comm'n B/C were dead last and there was no need for that. It was edited out along with Jet's f@g comment.

Reality TV World: Exactly what happened at Lucasfilm with your money and personal stuff? Last night's show really never showed you guys after that so it was a little unclear. Caite: What happened was Brent and I got there and I had my money bag and in the lobby there are two separate changing rooms -- one for me and one for Jet -- and when Jet came out to bring out his clothes that he had changed out of, he laid it over my money bag knowing that's my money bag. He was playing the game, he knew it was my money bag, he knew I would probably miss it -- so I ran out without it. Reality TV World: So you know it was deliberate? Did he acknowledge it, or are you [assuming that]? Caite: I know it was deliberate. It was the only thing sitting on the entire couch. He knew that wasn't his and he knew it was mine -- or somebody's -- and he deliberately put the clothes over the top of it. He could have laid his clothes somewhere else on the couch. But no, he put it over the top of the money bag. So, yeah. Reality TV World: So you mean the clothes you guys took off and were leaving behind when you were leaving? Caite: The crazy outfits.

Funny how CBS amazing editing can really make you believe what they want you to believe. The cowboys were their token good/role models. I guess many people bought into it. There's more to Jet/Cord than just what we were given on the tv screen.

Well if there was more to Jet and Cord than they showed then there must have been a lot more of everyone else they didn't show. The detectives, Models, Brothers, etc. Phil seemed to really like the detectives but I had a feeling these two had more ugliness in their lives and in the game than we ever saw. There is no way everything can be shown and I have never found AR to be overtly kind to any teams in their editing.
