The "Beard" Trend

*lemme just bring my lawn chair in here and have a seat.*

I'll just say this: the good thing is that there are enough "looks" and trends out there to go around. There's something for everyone to enjoy--no matter what you are (or aren't) attracted to.

Also: not everyone who sports a beard is doing so because of said trend.

It's their face. If they want to grow a beard, they can grow a beard without needing your approval. Some grow them just because they can.

Preach.

The caveman look is always grotesque, but I can see why the short beard trend cycles on and off.

Oh, shock...it only took 23 replies before the word "caveman" was mentioned. Not bad.

Depends on the man behind the beard for me. My lover had long hair to his butt and a long beard for a couple of years and I thought he was sexy as hell. I loved the roughness when we kissed. He now has a buzz cut and is clean shaven and I think he is sexy as hell.

I had no idea beards were a trend now. This is the first time I heard about it.

No.

A total 70's repeat. Didn't like it then. Not a fan of it now. The only thing I like about it is the next aesthetic wave will go totally the opposite way, and I can tolerate the extremes of preppyism better than the extremes of hipsterism. I hate the glasses. They would look okay on a 75 year old woman who is an art critic from new york. And I hate the haggard nonsense running amok on his face. It violates my preferred aesthetics of inconspicuousness and infiltration, where appearance belies ideology. I want a polished City of London veneer hiding the mind of a hippy. That guy couldn't infiltrate anything except an open-air concert.

I love you, Bankside, and I want to bear your children.

I definitevely prefer beards to this trend in JUB of threads pro or against them, but I'm biased because I fucking love beards :D

You're biased in your love of beards because you live in España!!!

The Castilian men you're amongst can and do grow some the best beards in Europe! They tend to have strong, manly jawlines, and thick, even, full facial-hair growth.

I'd hazard a guess you'd be hard-pressed to find hombres throughout the Iberian Peninsula with "ugly beards!"

It was one of the items on last night's 20hr news.

Coffee stain on a napkin signed by Steve Jobs 1978...worth over a million.

ppppppppp

It's a funny one for me, I have grown out my beard a number of time and people have liked it but I don't find it sexy in anyway. It looks good on quite a lot of people, but I prefer clean shaven on my partners face and make him shave most days.

I do love a beard on a footballer though John-Brayford-the-Sheffie-011.jpg

Well...

As long as you don't look like Fidel Castro's little brother.
