I really enjoy Hot Topics--- but I don't think I could classify one as "the worst": there are just some that hold no interest for me.

Watch your tone, if you please. That forum is still my baby and those boys who take the time and energy to participate in topics with much more weight than yet another thread about farts deserve more respect than you've just shown them.

i suppose they should earn the respect then by behaving as gentlemen, not animals.

don't shoot the messengers and observers, my friend. yelling down criticism is what got them in the place of disrespect that they are in.

its not a new assessment

people can work hard all they want, and if it is an unwelcoming place, all they are doing is serving their own needs, not the community as a whole.

Most of the political forums I have visited are all the same. No real discussions just spewed rhetoric coming from people who have no ability to sympathize with other people's positions

troll is a valid term used on the internet for 20 years to define a certain type of posting...

in any case, this isn't ce&p, the standard is a bit higher here in Hot Topics as far as this mindless bickering thing goes.

we could always discuss what areas of jub you like, and why you like them, but mindless agruing really just flops on the floor dead here most of the time.

Why dont you describe CE&P in positive terms for us, unclaimedblessings. Tell us about its positive atributes and what it has contributed to your level of enjoyment at JUB. Tell us why you enjoy posting there without attacking anyone...

Probably 90% Hot Topics, 9% Hot Men & Gay Porn, and 1% others: Health, Tech, Current Affairs. I think there are Forums here I've never been on. I avoid those sort of threads which degenerate into name-calling; there's still enough discussion here to be fun.

When I first joined, lo those many years ago, I spent most of my time in the Coming Out and the Religion forums (60%), the HT forum with a little time scattered everywhere else. I probably was a "troll" of the CE&P forum as I'd enjoy posting a cutting cartoon in that thread or a piece of bias I found as a stand-alone thread.

A good change there was that I can no longer post and run, but if posting some nonsense pulled from elsewhere, must provide a link and actually comment on the merit or lack-there-of in the post. That, I think, was added since this and Vannie's post.

It's good to know that 6 years on, CE&P is probably still derided as much as it was back then. In fact most of the comments about it still apply today!

It's also nice to go through an entire page where the discussion isn't de-railed by an animated gif orgy!
