  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

the chick from Twilight

She's a weak actress and not very interesting as in interview either. Saw her in an interview once, and she looked she just rolled out of bed. She was boring.

Classy girl. There's a recent shot of her doing the same thing but with a cigarette in her mouth. I was shocked when she got nominated for an award (Golden Globe?) for Twilight in the same category as actresses like Sandra Bullock.

She may be a terrible actress but to be fair the role is written in a way that anybody can play it and still be true to the character. Shoddy writing.

Ok, i feel it neccesary to stick up for her seen as people have got their claws out. If the only films youve seen her in are the twilight ones you need to watch her in more e.g. Into the Wild, Panic Room, Adventureland are just some of the more famous ones.
Yes she's not the best actress ever, but shes quite capable with good material.
No she wasnt nominated for a golden globe.

The twilight books are not good, for all the people who think they are, seriously you need to expand your collection. The films are shit and so is she in them. However the character itself is 2-dimensional, bland, underwritten and a very weak protagonist. So.... technically you could say she's actually doing a great job of being true to the character.

She's an indie actress, the first twilight had a low budget and no-one particularly famous in it. Some people didnt expect it to take off the way it did. So now she's thrust into the limelight and im guessing shes not competely comfortable with it. Can you blame her? Especially since she has a stalker too.

The films were made for 13 year old girls.
And some of you sound like 13 year old girls who bitch about another girl in your class who is going out with a boy you fancy because you're jealous and insecure.

Give her a chance in other films. And for all you book readers, i've got To Kill a Mockingbird, Lord of the Flies, Terry Pratchett etc in my collection if you want to borrow a real book.:p

Girl? There was a girl? I was too busy looking at Taylor Lautner, I never saw a girl. ;)

But seriously, though she is young, a good actress could have made a meal of even that writing. Think of all the times a great actress has pulled a complete turkey out of the mud by force of personality and selling the character. But the writing is the greater culprit in Ms. Stewart's poor characterization. Some of her lines absolutely made me cringe. Her reading of them didn't help, but the genesis of the cringe is squarely in the scriptwriter's lap.

But as someone has already pointed out, these movies, like the books they're based on, are made for teenage girls as their prime audience. And with that in mind, Ms. Stewart is perfect casting: awkward, a little plain, completely relatable and nonthreatening to other girls. She might be jealous that Bella got Edward, but she's not jealous of Bella's beauty and charm... instead, she's saying to herself "If a dork like her can get an Edward, and a Jakub, so can I!"

That's the whole point, in fact, behind the schlubby classless awkward disaffectation of both Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson as celebrities as well as actors: they're exactly the sort of thing that schlubby classless awkward disaffected teenagers can relate to.

As to her paleness, I think that was covered in the dialog. I don't know about the books, was she tanned in the books? But not everyone in Arizona bakes in the sun. Some folks use sunscreen.

From what I remember (and this is going back a few years to when the first book was published), I believe there's specific dialog where she mentions how pale she is and the irony of it having lived in Phoenix. I might be wrong though.

I watched both. Taylor Lautner was my main interest. I want to bed him SOOOO much. I hate this girl; she does not deserve the millions in money she gets.

Nice to see you failed to mention the worst 'horror' film of the past decade...which she was in...and acted horribly in. I contemplated burning my eyes out with Javex after watching The Messengers. Helen Keller has more range than her...and she's deaf, blind and fucking dead.

Twilight is just terrible and someone should set Meyer on fire for even creating the tripe.

Here's a question -

What will she do when there are no more Twilight books to adapt?!

Tick. Tick. Tick.

Despite my dislike of her, she actually has a few other decent movies under her belt. Because of that, the media hasn't type cast her like maybe her co-stars. She will find other stuff.

To be honest, depending on what she does in the future, she might not be remembered for Twilight.
