Chapter 829 - B
Troy soon emerged from talking to Taylor and gave me the biggest hug and a damn nice kiss on top of that. “Oh, Josh, I can’t believe how wonderful it’s going to be working with you and for this company. Plus I get to keep my fantastic partner also. You made my life fantastic. The compensation is great, but the benefits and stock ownership are even better. Wow, I can’t believe what a difference it is from public service,” Troy exclaimed. I told him now I had to go deliver the news to Conner. Troy looked at Lucky who smiled. Lucky said I was doing them a favor. Troy agreed.
We all walked out of the main dormitory office and towards the front door in the lobby. I gave them both another hug and told them I’d let them know how I made out. Before Troy could walk out the door, Jace came running towards Troy and grabbed him turning him around.
“Troy, why won’t you talk to me? You’re treating me like shit. You can’t do me this way,” Jace yelled at him. Troy told him to settle down and they’d talk later, but this was not the place. “No, I want to talk now,” Jace demanded.
“I said NO, Jace. I’m on duty and you’re at work so we’re not going to waste our employers’ time. Not going to happen. I have to go,” Troy said and turned to walk away. Jace grabbed him again. This time Lucky told him rather forcefully to let Troy be or he’d arrest him for interfering with law enforcement. Jace backed off finally.
“When can we talk? We need to talk, Troy,” Jace yelled after him but Troy didn’t respond. Then he looked at me. “What the hell is the matter with him?” Jace asked me. “You know him better than I do, obviously. Are you fucking him too?” Jace asked me. I was hoping I didn’t look guilty, but his question was a little too close to home.
“Jace, settle down. Obviously, you’re upset, but maybe you and I need to talk,” I told him as I ushered him to some boxes we could sit on to talk. “Hey, you’ve upset Troy to the point he’s not sure you guys can still be friends, but treating him like you just did is not going to repair the damage that you’ve done,” I told him. Jace looked like he wanted to get mad. “Getting mad is not going to solve anything. You should be feeling sad that you’ve upset Troy like it seems you have. He told me about last night wanting to talk to someone about the tension between the two of you. He wants to have feelings for you and to care about you, Jace, but you keep putting roadblocks up for that to happen or else, you just don’t want it to happen possibly,” I explained.
“He was hanging out with you last night saying he was talking about the future. Roger was there also. What kind of boyfriend ditches me and goes out with my friend to supposedly talk about his future? I mean that’s a slap in the face,” Jace remarked very upset.
“You’re totally off base there, Jace. Roger and Bryce are roommates now at the house. Roger is living with the SE group because of what happened to his house and family. They came over to my apartment to ask me some questions about matters that pertained to them. Troy was there to discuss something I have in the works for him. They just happened to be there at the same time, but for totally unrelated reasons,” I told him. Jace looked miffed.
“Well if they were there and got to hear Troy’s questions to you, I should have been able to be there to listen to him ask the questions also as he’s my boyfriend. It’s not right Roger got to participate and I didn’t,” Jace replied, still miffed. I told him to calm down as he was making a lot our of nothing.
“In the first place, I didn’t discuss Troy’s situation while Roger and Bryce were there. They never heard any of it. So you’re way off base there, Jace. Troy did tell Roger he didn’t want to interfere with the friendship you and Roger had and wished Roger would come over more often when you were there so the three of you could socialize together, and he didn’t feel like he was splitting the two of you apart. Troy was worried about that as you and Roger are close friends. Troy realizes what sex can do to friendships if not handled well,” I explained. “Roger did say he didn’t want to get in the mix between you and Troy, so he felt better just avoiding that situation until he was sure your relationship with Troy was on solid ground. Roger’s still your friend and still looking out for you, Jace. But, you and Troy need to have a hear-to-heart discussion about your relationship and what’s important to both of you in order for it to work. Troy is feeling this is all one-sided and that’s not making him happy right now, Jace. He thinks you only like him because he has sex with you and that shouldn’t be the case. You should have deep seated feelings for him as that’s what he needs. He thinks you only care about him for the dick he puts up your ass and that’s not doing it for him if you know what I mean. I’ve probably said too much already, and it’s not really my place, but the two of you need to talk and get some sort of mutual understanding going. If you can’t, then maybe you two need to move on,” I explained. Jace seemed like his world was somewhat falling apart hearing that Troy was not happy with their relationship.
“I don’t see why Troy doesn’t feel like I care about him because I do, Josh. We just need to get naked and make love and then everything will be fine, and he’ll know that it is then,” Jace replied. I shook my head.
“You’re not listening to me. Yes, you think sex is fantastic and makes you feel like a million dollars, but you can’t go through life every day, all day long with Troy’s cock up your ass. There has to be something stronger between you, actual love in your heart. Maybe you don’t know what that is, I’m not sure. I know Troy needs that more than sex, so that’s what’s important to him. You need to understand that and show some compassion. Either that or go find yourself a dick that could care less about you that just likes your ass, because that’s what Troy feels like now, Jace. I need to go, so think about what I said and be respectful and listen to his heart when you talk to him,” I told him. Just before I walked away, Roger and Garth walked near us and Jace yelled out to Roger.
“Roger, you fucker, trying to steal my boyfriend, you traitor,” Jace yelled at him stunning both Roger and Garth. Roger almost did a double take.
“Josh, would you just kick his ass out the door as he’s clueless as to his own stupidity,” Roger said, then he and Garth kept on walking.
“Jace, the one thing we definitely request around here is respect for every one of us and between us. If you can’t show that, then you can’t work for us anymore. I don’t want to hear of another outburst like that again or you’re out of here. Do you understand?” I asked.
“Well, he had that coming,” Jace replied. I shook my head at him and told him he seemed like a lost cause to me and maybe he should think about moving on. That stunned him.
I left then to go the station to see Conner and deliver the news about Troy and Lucky. I felt a bit nervous when the desk sergeant told me to go on back to his office. Of course I got the big hug when I entered his office, then him telling me to sit and tell me what’s on my mind. “Well, I have something to tell you that you might not like but it’s a good thing overall,” I started off saying rather sheepishly.
“Don’t tell me you slept with one of my other officers and converted them also,” Conner teased. I chuckled, but then asked who was hot enough that I should be looking at. Then he laughed. “Damn, I could get myself in trouble giving you advice in that area. So what’s so important you had to come down here to tell me that is a good thing but I might not like?” he asked anxiously.
“Uh, well, I’m just going to tell you straight off. We made job offers to Lucky and Troy to work for Stoney Enterprises and they’ve accepted,” I blurted out to a shocked face, almost winded. “Lucky is going to be head of security for SE and Troy is going to be assisting him with the technical surveillance part of our entities, first and foremost the new dormitory when it opens in a couple of weeks,” I explained before all the air came back into his body.
“Oh shit. Damn. Well, I kind of expected to hear news like this someday as close as all you guys are. I mean I can’t sleep with Lucky to get him to change his mind like you can so I guess I’ve lost any leverage I had with the boy. I certainly can’t sleep with Neal’s nephew Troy, so I kind of strike out there,” Conner replied, making me shake my head.
“Conner, it’s not like that at all. They both respect and admire you, thinking you’re the greatest thing ever for the department here in Uni. It’s just the opportunity we have with our company will probably make them extremely well off financially over the years, and it’s a chance to work with likeminded brothers. It’s not that they’re unhappy, but this is just a better opportunity for them both and kind of lessens the possibility of them getting shot also,” I replied. Conner smiled.
Troy soon emerged from talking to Taylor and gave me the biggest hug and a damn nice kiss on top of that. “Oh, Josh, I can’t believe how wonderful it’s going to be working with you and for this company.
