With all due respect...Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Krystal Skull should be the biggest box office winner this summer...Batman will definitely do good though..Im excited to see it.

And in NO WAY will Batman be the biggest movie of the year. No way at all. It will ride high on the first movie being pretty good and interest to see Heath Ledger's final on screen appearance. I predict it should make around $250 million.

Watch out for "Iron Man". That movie is kicking out the summer competition and has no immediate contender until May 9 when "Speed Racer" comes out.

Re: The Dark Knight: Three new teaser posters

Yeah I agree with you. Batman will do very well, but I highly doubt it will be the year's biggest movie. In fact, I know it won't. Not only do we have a new Indiana Jones movie coming out which is drumming up more interest than I ever expected, by the year's end we'll also have another Harry Potter movie. Both of these are movies the whole family can go see while Batman is the opposite.

In any case, I just hope The Dark Knight is better than Batman Begins which I found to be the most overrated film of 2005.

I think people were talking about Begins so much, just because they were so happy that it steered completely away from the direction Schumacher took the series in, and returned to its dark roots. I suppose one could argue that it was more true to the comic, as it was in many aspects. I was most satisfied with them making Joe Chill the killer of Bruce's parents, as opposed to what Tim Burton did in the '89 Batman. What a crock that was and I still haven't gotten over Burton's decision to do that to this day.

I do think Liam Neeson was a bit disappointing as Ra's al Ghul. Neeson is Neeson. He's one of those actors like Nicholson that only plays one character. And he just wasn't a good fit, imo.

Re: The Dark Knight: Three new teaser posters

Begins was OK, not a bad movie, but not that good. I honestly wouldn't be able to watch it more then 2-3 times, I'd probably fall asleep the 3-4 time.

Unless Lady Luck is on the side of the Dark Knight, then it will probably be Harry Potter which has the best box office of the year. I mean, Order of the Pheonix was a great one, and from the looks of things, this one will have more action.

Re: The Dark Knight: Three new teaser posters

They say Grand Theft Auto 4 coming out today will affect Ironman's opening.

To put it in perspective, the game will probably sell 11 million units, at $60 each, = $610 million . . more money than any movie has ever made.

I think Indiana will be the big seller. I never liked the series but thats just me.

Looking forward to Dark Knight

Re: The Dark Knight: Three new teaser posters

I like what the Harvey Dent one is alluding to.

Half of his face is covered. He's holding the button liek a coin.

How clever.

I agree. That was a slick picture, fore-shadowing things to come.

Off-topic, rumors were running several months before Ledger's death that the Joker was going to survive this one and head into the 3rd one. Do we know if this was a false rumor, of if Warner changed the ending if it was true?

Re: The Dark Knight: Three new teaser posters

i caught the third trailer bootlegged on youtube but it was taken down, looks awesome though, anyone else get a chance to see it?

Re: The Dark Knight: Three new teaser posters

One thing they could do, change the universe a little bit and kill off Joker in this one, only to bring back the character with a new face, and a even darker personality. They also have to do something with Scarecrow in this one, b/c it looks sort of like it taken place maybe a few months after Begins.

But thats just what I think.

Re: The Dark Knight: Three new teaser posters

It looks like the 12 people that got the Dark Knight trailer reel on Monday during the viral marketing event were handed a "Jokerized" version of the clip!

Re: The Dark Knight: Three new teaser posters

Even the director said the biggest mistake the previous batman movies made were that they killed MAJOR villains... and that they didn't want to do that. Which is why we didn't 'See' Ra's die.

I think it was quite clear that Ra's is dead at the end of Begins.

Of course, Scarecrow did escape, and I understand he'll be dealt with in this one.

I know the franchise is going for realism, but in the animated series Ra's was immortal, and the ambiguity of Ra's supposed death could make him turn up in the future. I mean yeah he was in the train crash but he's a resourceful guy right? They could play off his 'immortality' as just finding a way to survive the crash or something.

and I REALLY hope Scarecrow gets some good scenes in The Dark Knight, he was so damn creepy in Batman Begins but I wanted him to get more screen time. When he goes "he would say... we should kill you." so awesome
