Re: The Dark Knight returns to theaters this Janua

They're just hoping to beat Titanic's record as No. 1 box office grossing movie.

Re: The Dark Knight returns to theaters this Janua

It's not unusual for an Oscar contender to be re released prior to the awards.

Re: The Dark Knight returns to theaters this Janua

^^I repeat: it's all about the box office gross.

Re: The Dark Knight returns to theaters this Janua

How much did Titanic earn?

Re: The Dark Knight returns to theaters this Janua

^^I don't have the figures on hand, but the difference between them is less than 100m, if I'm remembering correctly the last report I read.

And I should add, that's domestic box office.

Re: The Dark Knight returns to theaters this Janua

Oh. Well, I enjoyed the movie but I wouldn't go watch it in theathers again especially since the movie is coming out on DVD and what not pretty soon...

The Dark Knight sequel in development

The next Batman installment is alive and kicking—definitely. Certain Warners sources are leaking to us that Rachel Weisz is being considered for the Catwoman role. But Warners officially isn't saying bubkes. But other insiders working on the next installment, to follow up where The Dark Knight left off, say it's all so a go.

Despite some recent interviews in which he down-played the possibility of returning as director again, Christopher Nolan will for sure be back directing the third flick, we're assured by a production mole. Christian Bale will obviously rejoin his director pal, and we're very pleased to report that he'll be playing a "sexier" Bruce Wayne.

A sequel to "Superman Returns" entitled "Superman: Man of steel" is currently in pre-production eyeing a 2011 release.

According to Warner Bros. president Alan F. Horn , $175 million is the maximum budget the studio is aiming for "Superman: Man of Steel" after the dissapointing performance at the box office made by "Superman Returns" in 2006.

So far, only director Bryan Singer and Brandon Routh are attached to the project.

Re: The Dark Knight sequel in development

I thought Superman Returns was great. I think rebooting the character would be a dumb idea. It wasn't as if SR was as bad as Catwoman was.

As for these Batman rumors, I hope that they're legit.

Re: The Dark Knight sequel in development

As much as i'd like to see it, I am not counting on another Batman until I hear the words come out of Christopher Nolan's mouth. If he doed not join in, I hope they scrap the idea, because we'd have anothe Joel Shumacher disaster on our hands. No thanks.

As for Superman, I think Singer is off the project and they are looking at filming a "Lord of the Rings" style trilogy, where all three films are filmed at the same time and it will be an origin story of sorts. I think if they take Superman in to the "dark" if you will, it could be done if it is done right, but that is unlikely.

Re: The Dark Knight sequel in development

Considering the gap between Begins and Dark Knight, even if it is in the works it'll likely be at least another three years. And to me that's fine, because I hate hastily thrown together sequels.

These kind of blockbuster movies take no less than one year of pre-production, and then they require another full year for shooting and post-production.
My guess is that we won't be seeing any new Batman movie in theaters until 2011 or 2012.

Re: The Dark Knight sequel in development

Chris Nolan and David Goyer havent even started work on the script, so all casting "news" is just bullshit.

Re: The Dark Knight sequel in development

That's awesome! A couple months ago I suggested Rachel Weisz among a few others to play Catwoman. Im glad to see Im not the only one who thinks she could play it well.

I hope she blows it away because she is in the same boat Heath was in with the Joker. Nicholson and Pfeiffer both gave very memorable roles when they played the Joker and Catwoman.

Re: The Dark Knight sequel in development

Wow, I'm really excited to hear this! Personally, I think Rachel Weisz would make an amazing Catwoman. She's actually one of the few actresses I could see playing Catwoman. She's a great actress, and this just sounds perfect! After Batman Begins and The Dark Knight I have the utmost confidence that Christopher Nolan can craft another amazing Batman film.
