Pål Enger,
a talented Norwegian soccer player turned celebrity art thief
who pulled off the sensational 1994 heist of Edvard Munch’s famed “The Scream” painting from the National Gallery in Oslo,
has died. He was 57.
Another great achiever, 7.5'-glory included.

Mike Heslin, an actor who appeared in the series “Lioness” and in the TV movie “The Holiday Proposal Plan,” died July 2. His husband announced his death on Instagram, writing that the cause was a “sudden cardiac event.”

Dr. Mildred Stahlman, age 101, physician, educator and developer of the medical specialty of neonatalogy.

A 1946 graduate of Vanderbilt School of Medicine at a time when few women attended medical schools, Stahlman opened the first neonatal intensive care, developed the first neonatal ventilators and developed the first neonatal transport service.

Mildred T. Stahlman, MD, who pioneered the treatment of lung disease in premature infants and who was a tireless advocate of children of all ages, died June 29. She was 101.

Dr. Stahlman, professor of Pediatrics and Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology, is credited with establishing at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) the nation’s first newborn intensive care unit to use monitored respiratory therapy in babies born with damaged lungs.

Dr. Stahlman established Vanderbilt’s Division of Neonatology, the subspecialty of Pediatrics that deals with the care of infants immediately after birth. In the mid-1970s, she helped regionalize newborn intensive care services in Tennessee, and she trained generations of physician-scientists from around the world.

Former US Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK), age 89, of a stroke. Inhofe was known alternately as "The Senator from Hobby Lobby" and "The Senator from Valero Energy" due to his climate change denier status and his fealty to the Religious Right.

Former US Sen. Jim Inhofe, a former chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee who was one of the most vocal climate change deniers in the US Senate, has died, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell announced on Tuesday.

Inhofe, 89, served in the US Senate from 1994 until he retired in 2023.

Sen Inhofe famously brought a snowball into the Senate chamber, claimed that because it was snowing in Washington DC, it was evidence that the planet wasn't warming.

Hopefully, Sen Inhofe is testing the theory about a snowball's chances in hell.

No loss to the world.

He was just another self-serving, cynical fuck puppet for the religious right and corporate America.

One less vote for Donald, one step closer to sanity. Keep the progress going.

Maybe he'll send word back through one of the fracking wells.

That's not saying anything about how she played that good character... and how some other could have played it.
The wikibiography quotes references on her extreme commitment to the role and the filming.

Tonke Dragt, children's author and illustrator, aged 93.

I only finished reading The Letter for the King last week. It was so good I ordered another one and it came yesterday, the day she died. If the lousy reviews are anything to go by, the Netflix series is a mockery, completely unrelated to the plot or the characters of the book.

Dr Ruth Westheimer, sex therapist, aged 96.

Dr. Ruth used to be on television in The Netherlands in the 80s early 90s.

It must have been almost 30 years since I heard a recording of her voice.

She had also trained as a sniper.

What an awesome person she must have been!
