That is horrible. I'm so sorry. Infection is becoming a nightmare, even in hospitals, maybe especially in hospitals.

Would it be a she? Isn't drag the art form of a man dressing as a woman for effect?

I thought transexuals were not in drag.

If the deceased was a she, then it wasn't drag, was it?

If I had a co-worker who was transexual, I think I'd be written up or fired for referring to him or her as "in drag."

Drag is an art form that exaggerates gender norms. Lots of trans people do drag. There are also cis gendered people who do drag as the sex they were assigned with at birth such as Victoria Scone. Elvis impersonators are sort of drag kings because they dress up as a more flamboyant version of themselves to become Elvis. Drag is more than pretending to be a different gender than you are.

Thanks for explaining your understanding. I think parts of the LGBTQ population define drag differently from the population at large, especially the 95% or more who are heterosexual.

They don't view Elvis impersonators as drag.

They don't view women or trans wearing male clothes as drag.

RuPaul's success is a reinforcement that drag, for the majority, remains men presenting as women on stage, and when extreme for glamor, they take on the moniker "draq queen".

At any rate, I'm truly sorry for the passing of an artist. It's a terrible premature death. I'm glad there is mourning across the planet for this popular star, even if I don't enjoy drag myself. So many people are entertained by it, just like those who enjoy NASCAR, the NFL, or basketball, none of which I enjoy. But t like people having fun.
