You and some others here keep trying to make it personal because you guys love or hate Obama, Clinton, Bush, et al. I don't love or hate them. For me it's not about Obama, it's about the legislation

Nick if you want people here to believe your arguments are based on the merits instead of personalities then perhaps you should consider refraining from saying such things as 'its just as I predicted' or 'I wasn't fooled' or 'He's unprincipled' ' or 'I knew he couldn't be trusted' or even 'I didn't drink the Kool-Aid'.

Its hard to read your posts concerning President Obama and not conclude that its personal and that has more to do with what you say than your belief that those who don't criticize him are groupies.

If you're unable to read my posts about Obama and believe it's about policy and his performance as a public servant, then that's your problem, not mine.

I've been clear from the beginning that getting out of this economic crisis will require huge government spending and that during this time I'm suspending my objection to rising deficits. But that doesn't mean I support spending no matter what it's for, no matter who proposes or supports it.

A huge chunk of Obama's stimulus bill is tax cuts, which will not stimulate the economy, and another huge chunk is for programs like education that have nothing to do with stimulating the economy. That leaves a trillion dollar price tag of debt for legislation that provides a fraction of the economic stimulus we need. If Obama had crafted and passed a trillion dollar stimulus bill that was 100% --or even 90%-- economic stimulus, I'd have cheered it. But his stimulus bill is as rotten at the core as his bank bailouts and AIG bailouts. They're adding debt without providing the means to bring our economy back to health. I don't expect to return to where we'd been the past 15 years, I was the first here to predict that won't happen (while I was attacked for my "doom and gloom" predictions), but Obama's responsibility is to lead this nation back to economic health. And he's not doing that. His stimulus may help in the short term but it won't restore real growth, and without that we're in trouble.

No, this is the thread. My OP was obviously malicious, doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. But this thread has turned into a good discussion. As has been said by a mod on the first page of this thread. I am pleased how this thread turned out.
