Dunno about that one, I think combining occasionally produces whole new rises in experience. Even the additional greens included for a lonely vitamin may produce appeal on another level.

Steak tartare is so gross. Did they serve it with a soft cooked egg on top?

Usually it is raw, not soft cooked. But no. That is why I liked it - they made exactly as I wanted it - Chopped beef, a little finely minced shallot, and a bit of salt. Clean and pure.

Yeah it can be either raw or very soft cooked which is what I meant. Either way....pass. I refuse to prepare it, I refuse to eat it. The egg on top is enough to make me want to puke. Raw eggs to me are so gross. Obviously I cook with them all the time but it's still gross.

I've no idea either except they seem to add a fried egg on almost everything nowadays.

Steak and eggs is a pretty common combination. The runny yolk provides a nice sauce for the steak. And the dish isn't exactly modern.

Yeah I forget the exact history of the dish, but I recall reading that is was prescribed after scarlet fever, which had a high mortality rate during the 1800s/1900s. They were doing "The Dick" test in 1924 to figure out who was susceptible to scarlet fever.

I made some lemon tarts. I was thinking about serving them at the restaurant as a desert item. Maybe like three of these on a plate with some whipped cream/garnish. Or maybe a lime tart or something. Haven't quite decided. But they're tiny so you'd need a couple.
