The Heroes: Season 1 Part 2 Thread

Ok i just saw the episode tonight. i miss it monday nights so i have to wait till fridays repeat on scifi.

this was an excellent episode as most of them have been. i have no idea what the white thing in the back of sylar's head was though.

i don't think linderman will be clair's father. the arm and shirt and stuff seemed ...well i was going to say eccentric...but maybe linderman is eccentric...ok so i guess it could be. i was floored to see george takei as hiro's dad. i saw his name in the opening credits and wondered who'd he'd show up as. then had forgotten takei was in the opening credits when that bad guy started speaking japanese.

by the way what the hell is doctor who doing on Heroes!? that was Christopher Eccleston as the invisible guy. i'm still mad at him for leaving doctor who after only one season. maybe i'll get over it. i think it's fitting that he got another scifi roll, seeing how he didn't want to be stereotyped.

That Hayden has got talent. Pay attention to her little subtle expressions. She truly can act.

I really want Hayden to get a best actress (supporting would be a safter nomination though given its an ensemble piece) Emmy nomination. She was GREAT in chapter 12. She needs to submit chapter 12 and the episode where she drove the football player into the wall when Emmy consideration time comes around.

Also Ali Larter (Niki/Jessica) is very good. She should get an Emmy nomination as well, probably for best supporting actress. She nailed her performance in chapter 12. It cannot be easy to play 2 completely different people, and to just switch them on and off. Thats good stuff and should be recognized.

Hayden IS great! Her mother being a human torch is pretty cool, and I can't wait for the backstory there.Invisible Doctor Who is fun, and I wish they'd let us know what the deal is with Jessica/Nicki (If her powers are physical, and Jessica is a multiple personality I don't get why Nicki wouldn't have accidentally ripped a door off or had some other super-strength-involved mishap before). DL should really have considered doing some internet porn himself;bet he'd make almost as much money as Nicki .

I was watching "Legally Blonde" for like the 7th time today, but first since "Heroes" started, and i realize that Ali Larter was in the movie. She played Brooke Taylor, she woman on trial for alledgedly killing her husband.

It was so funny too because she had scenes where she wore an orange jump suit, the same like the ones she wears on Heroes. lol

^I assume you know Ali Larter was also in the first two Final Destination movies. I think it would have been really ironic if her character in those movies had been torn to pieces just like Jessica's victims, but no, she died in an explosion.

Regarding Niki/Jessica, there's a theory going around (forget where I read it) that Jessica had a body jumping ability and jumped into Niki before she was killed while Niki is the one with the super strength, which Jessica takes advantage of because she's in Niki's body, if that makes sense.

That's a good theory, but why wouldn't Niki exhibit the super strength other times? Why is it only when Jessica takes over?

I can't wait to find out who Claire's father is!

My point exactly! Super-strength wouldn't be like flying or 'painting the future', or even Hiro's power. You'd inadvertently tap into into it doing the most mundane things. "Jessica" might well be more adept at utilizing it, but if Nicki's body had the potential to begin with, the strength would at some point be displayed.

I love Heroes, I watched them online up until the hiatus. I'm gonna watch the nu ones in a bit. I love Claires character, her and Zach remind me of Buffy and Xander, I keep expecting Willow to appear lol. If there's a second series u can guarantee bigger effects due to its enormous success.

Maybe she has and just doesn't realize it or remember. I agree that at some point it probably would come out but since Niki's situation is so unique, maybe she just doesn't have the ability in her mind because the actual knowledge of that ability only makes itself available whenever Jessica is out.

And that could work for another ability....but strength is something you tap into without thinking. There's a Marvel character named Aurora who is a split like Nicki/Jessica (presumably). Her 'Aurora' personality can fly. Her other personality could not do so. But it's easy to go through everyday existence without attempting to fly. Strength is different. If you've ever been through a period of intense weight-lifting, there's a point where you lift something in passing at home, and you have a sense-memory of how much strength it takes to lift it (say, a carton of milk), and you find yourself lifting it as if it were empty, because your strength increased without you being aware of the change. That's the sort of thing that I would imagine would have happened to Nicki before now.

I was right on on guessing who Claire's father was!! about an hour before we watched I was saying to my dad "who do you think claire's dad is?" i said linderman...but then i started thinking and the shot of the arm from the promo popped in my head and I was like that's totally Nathan...cause I was thinking he knew he could fly...he tried to stop Peter from going to find Claire....he had to have known something about her....and like someone else said we know he cheats on his wife...so that was another thing!

Jessica is free! The previews for next week make it look like she throws Matt out of a window. I doubt that really happens, though. Maybe now that she's free, we'll find out more about her powers. Were Jessica and Nicki twins? That would explain why she can seperate herself from Niki but still look like her plus the tatoo. If they were twins, though, Niki would have to have the same power...I can't wait to find out what the connection is.

The Sylar and Mohinder preview looked interesting. Hopefully Mr. Bennet can get to Mohinder before anyone gets hurt.

Speaking of Bennet, why can't we know his first name? It was very blatant that they're keeping it from us when Mrs. Bennet almost said it.

Speaking of Mrs. Bennet, her brain must be completely fried by now.

It was great to see Peter start to get control of his powers. It turns out that he doesn't have to be near someone to use their powers. Maybe he really HAS all the powers and needs help utilizing them. If that's true, then he must be like the SUPER-hero. I predict a major battle between him, who has the powers naturally, and Sylar, who stole all of the powers.

Speaking of Sylar, I can't wait until he's taken down. It'll be a great episode.

And finally to the big surprise. Nathan is Claire's father. I think most of us predicted that. I knew it would be someone we already knew and that it would have to be someone shady. It couldn't have been Sylar since he's too young, so that only left Mr. Bennet himself and Nathan. I didn't think it would be Mr. Bennet since he really wouldn't have a reason to hide it. Maybe this is why Peter felt such a strong connection to her and why her power is the one he was able to channel when he fell.

Man I was hoping Linderman would be Claire's dad, I bet a lot of Claire/Peter will be pissed. Great episode, Hiro resolves things with his dad, Nikki is out, and Sylar nearly killed Claire's mom. And man I'm still crushing on Zach and am I the only one who thinks he has a nice ass.

And, if anyone wants to speculate, how can Sylar get shot (3 times I saw) and still be living? Has he gotten someone's power that I don't remember? Or has that been explained already?

And what the hell did he pull out of his head after locking Mr. Bennett in the cell? Something ticking, right?

Not fully back but a couple things in random thought order.

So Niki is just a normal person with no superpowers right? and Jessica just took her body over for some reason?

If Claires fire mom is such a traveller and just moved to Kermit 2 months ago, how is she in the phonebook already.

Not happy about Nathan being Claires dad at all. That would mean Claires is Peter's niece, eeek.

So Peter is the good version of Sylar? It appears that his power is everyones power and he will eventually be able to control all of them at his disposal.

Is it ok if i find Sylar to be sexy. Physically he is hot, but i am also attracted to his power. Why do good guys fall for the bad guys lol.

Simone wasnt cheating, it was just a tender momemt between 2 former lovers. Don't know why Peter got all worked up.

Invisibility is still my favorite power and Claire is still my favorite Hero.

We still don't know what all Sylar can do, so he may very well have a power similar to Claire's that we don't know about, although I doubt it, otherwise what would he want with Claire? My guess is that he has some sort of ability that 'suspends' bullets or other objects from hitting him. Whenever he falls down or back from being 'shot' it's the force of whatever power he is using to stop them from hitting him that causes him to stumble.

The thing on the back of Sylar's head? My guess was some sort of scrambler. Remember, he can see how things work and how people tick. After he 'killed' Eden I think they made sure to 'install' that so he wouldn't be able to do any more harm to them.

Something is bothering me (kinda nitpicky) about Claire's mother's converation with Nathan. She mentioned that they hadn't talked in a long time, yet she had his current numer. Off the top of my head I can't remember if it was a cellphone or home phone, but if Claire is 15 and they thought she was dead, how would she have a contact number from the man she hadn't talked to in 15 years? I'm suspicious that something is going on there.

My theory on Peter is that he gains the ability to replecate other heroes powers when he comes into contact with them, not just mimick them for a short time, and as we discovered tonight, he has to actively be thinking about that power or person with the power to use it himself.

Can anyone explain to me what the hell was up with Niki/Jessica at the end? Is Jessica out for good now? Can she actually do that to her host body? So strange yet interesting.

I'll probably have more to say if anyone has any other thoughts. I can talk about this show all day if you let me, lol.

Well he hasnt gotton Claires regenertion power yet so unless somehow he was able to react fast enough and dodge, reflect the bullets, i am not sure because he looked perfectly fine in the previews.

well in one of the first episodes when we first see Sylar at the FBI building, Clea Du Vall's character holds her gun up and he says "Now you know that won't hurt me"...so it's obviously a power he has...like he can just push the bullets out of him or something...i dunno...haha

and the thing with Nathan...he probably like paid Claire's mom off or something and they staged the fire to save his ass or something crazy like that
