The Heroes: Season 1 Part 2 Thread

Off the top of my head I can't remember if it was a cellphone or home phone, but if Claire is 15 and they thought she was dead, how would she have a contact number from the man she hadn't talked to in 15 years? I'm suspicious that something is going on there.

You do have to remember, Nathan is running to be a Senator from New York. Considering she had his name, all you'd have to do is Google.

And it did look like he was in campaign headquarters when she phoned, so it's not uncommon to find that number listed on a website before an election...

^PS, where did you get the code for Ted's profile?

We know the other file is Parkman (says so in Ted's), anyone got that password yet?

Okay. Yeah, because I couldn't remember the kind of phone it was and it would have to have been the campaign headquarters because there is no way Mr. Nathan 'Senator' Petrelli would allow his personal home number to be listed in the phone book.

After he 'killed' Eden I think they made sure to 'install' that so he wouldn't be able to do any more harm to them.

I think that Eden shot herself in the head so Sylar couldn't take her power. But, you never know with this show, maybe she'll come back (I LOVED her power too btw!)

I'm hoping she comes back. They didn't cover her death well enough for me to fully believe that she's really dead. We didn't actually see her die and we never saw her body afterward. In the world of TV drama, that's a HUGE opening for a surprise comeback. I loved her power, too. Who wouldn't want the power of persuasion?

As for what we saw on the show, I think we were supposed to believe she shot herself to protect her power. Sylar wouldn't have done that to her. He needed her brain to be intact. If she's really dead, it's good to think that she sacrificed herself because she knew her power was too dangerous to end up in Sylar's hands. That's a good way to go out.

I concur.

Everytime I see the promos for next week, I get more excited. I can't wait to see the confrontation between Jessica and Matt. Maybe we'll get to hear some of Jessica's thoughts and we'll find out something more about here.

"This should be fun..." Jessica gets the best lines!

Here is the preview for Mondays all new "Heroes",

Before anyone says anything, I used to be entranced by "Heroes," but I've lost interest since it came back in January. I wrote an essay for school about religion vs evolution with "Heroes" as a main reference point. The regenerative abilities of Claire are firmly rooted in reality, but the new invisibility of Pete and the fact that Nathan is Claire's father seems so silly. I feared that the writers and producers wouldn't be able to come up with more ideas. Also, I think a major part of the problem is that the acting ability of some of the actors on "Heroes" is unconvincing, and all the dialogue is just a excuse to for the actors to ramble about powers and "destinies." The real-life conversation that people have seems to be an afterthought and just a token from the writers. It may very well get better, but this is how I feel about it. Just wondering if anyone else felt the same. ;)

I agreee on some points and disagree on others.

Let's get real, this show by far is NOT based in reality so a human being having the the ability to stick their hand in a garbage disposal and have it not do any harm to them (after a few 'healin' seconds time anyway) will probably never happen in real life, so you can't really call one particular part of the power aspect (i.e.- invisibility) silly. It's all silly when you think about it.

I think with Heroes is a show that was very carefully planned and thought out from the beginning, so I believe that Nathan was always supposed to be Claire's father. You can tell this a little in how Peter and Claire admitting to having connections to each other long before this latest revelation. In other words, I buy it.

Here's where I agree: the acting. I don't find anyone to be particulary terrible, but I do think some people have more bad days than good ones. I think a lot of the characters are overplayed and overacted sometimes and I find a lot of the dialouge to be terrible at times. Another problem I have is that, like you mentioned, the dialouge more or less always consists of powers and destiny talk. There are too few 'candid' moments of at least a small semblance of normalcy. It'd be nice to see these people had other things going on in their lives besides dropping everything they're doing to find Linderman, or to go see mom, or find this sword or that painting yada yada yada.

Still, I thoroughly enjoy the show and hope you'll keep watching now that you know you aren't completely alone in some of your thoughts. You can always talk about them here, I like your points your brought up!

To EvilMonkey: I think Milo Ventimiglia overacts the most on "Heroes." His character Pete is so overplayed it's the point of annoying. I've seen a little bit of his acting in the Rocky Balboa movie and he seemed terrible in it. I haven't seen him in anything else, but from what I have seen, his acting style seems to be overdramatic. Claire is the best and most realistic actor on the show. I actually feel like I'm watching a "real" human being living their life. Is that too much to ask? :( lol

Thanks for liking my points. I appreciate it. You seem very intelligent. Intelligence is cool to see. ;)

Tonight was just Ok for me. I didnt blow me away in the least. It was tollerable.

I didnt like how they turned Claires mom into a not so good person, by making her cheat Claire out of half the money. I would have rather she suggested a 50/50 spilt.

So Niki and Jessica are 2 different people? Because Matt read both their minds. If they are the same person how would that be possible?

Syler is creepy, scary as hell but he is hot lol.

Mohinder wasn't hot tonight.

Claires Mom :(.

My thoughts ALMOST exactly newboy.

I think they will probably phase Claire's real mom out, so why the hell not play into the stereotype that people who live in trailers are all poor and can light cigarettes with their hands?

As far as Nicki and Jessica, I think he was just hearing them talk back and forth to each other in the stairwell, not necessarily reading their minds. I could be wrong though.

And I was like PUT THEM IN YOUR POCKET!!! PUT THEM IN YOUR MOTHERFUCKIN' POCKET!! IF YOU GIVE THEM BACK I'LL BE PISSED!! Ok I'm done with that.

I wanted Sylar to fuck Mohinder. I would love to see that.

Finally, obviously Nicki doesn't kill Nathan. If you need me to explain let me know.

And who the hell was that guy who found Hiro? Obviously the guy in the hotel room but he works for the Gaming commission? WTF?

OK sorry I'm done.

I was really hoping for Claire's mom to be more integral to the storyline. I mean, let's not waste any special people if we don't have to. I agree, it was very sucky of her to offer Claire 1/4th the money she was getting, as if she expecting Claire to jump at that when she so obviously just wanted affection and support.

I thought it was understood that Niki and Jessica have always been two different people. It was even somewhat confirmed in "Six Months Ago" when Jessica admitted the reason Niki knew nothing of her dad beating her was because Jessica took over. I think that scene served as another confirmation that Niki and Jessica are indeed two different people. And I'm still holding to my theory that Jessica is the body jumper and Niki is the one with the super strength.

I agree, Mohinder wasn't hot tonight but aside from Super White Teeth Nathan, he's the sexiest guy on the show.

I first thought Zane's power was pretty pathetically stupid but it could be pretty poweful with the right (devious) plans and now Sylar has it.

I'm pissed off at the Ando/Hiro storyline. WHEN are they going to find that sword? And why the hell would him not having it stop him from using his abilites. The only reason he cant use them is because he THINKS he can't, thus that whole storyline is a waste of time.

That's so sad what's happening to Claire's mom. Which obviously means that the Haitian's ability has negative long term side affects. Just how many times HAS her mind been warped?

Still no confirmation that Mr. Bennett knows Claire has her memory in tact, although it's pretty obvious, especially from this episode, to tell that they both know her memory wasn't erased.

No Peter tonight. FINALLY. The most overused character on the show. And for what?

Apparently episode 16 (next week) we meet a new potential hero. I've seen the clip so I know the gender and the power and who they meet. I say "potential hero" because if you watch the clip, you'll see why I'm hesitant to call them a hero.

Too many thoughts. Must slow down. Someone post something for me to comment on, lol.

Sadly, as soon as Gilsig was shown to be the mother, I knew she'd play her usual, and be either evil, weak, or both. (Also, after all these years, you'd think she'd have figured out a way to make enough money with her power to get out of the trailer park. Maybe open a crematorium or something..)
Since there really aren't any real-life psychics to verify it, I wonder if Parkman would actually 'hear' a schizophrenic's different voices (after all, the person with the disorder 'hears' them as distinct.
Would have liked to see (pun intended) more of the invisible guy and his student, Milo. Missed them.
How strong is Claire...or how foolish is political candidate Nathan....to be able to crack glass that should be, if not bulletproof, at least reinforced?

did anyone text the number down in the corner? It sais "I can't take them on my own Text me now and then then number" but i was watching it tivoed so i didn't text....did anyone do it?
