The Heroes: Season 1 Part 2 Thread

You all said pretty much everything I wanted to say except one key thing: Peter's dream. The promos advertised that someone would fly (check) and someone would die (also check-Simone) but Simone was alive and well in Peter's dream of him being the bomb.

We've already seen that in one way or another all of Peter's visions and dreams have come true so how are they going to explain this one? It's possible she's not dead, but why make such a fuss about a character dying if they aren't really dead? Plot hole maybe? Or perhaps they are trying to tell us that this is how Peter's dream starts to not become true.

Other than that excellent episode, probably the best so far. Can't wait for next week.

It's possible that the future, assuming that's what Peter's dream was of, has already been changed by their interaction with Hiro and knowing what the outcome is supposed to be.

I have a question regarding "the scar." If Peter can heal himself (since way back when he absorved Clair's ability) why would he have a scar in the future? Does he lose his powers at some point?

My developing theory on Peter and his abilities is that there are only so many that he can 'absorb' and use at any given time. Maybe when he gets the injury that causes the scar he isn't around Claire and no longer has her ability.

Of course, this goes against what the show seems to be telling us about Peter and his abilites (he only needs to think about the person and the ability to use it).

There has to be some counter to his ability because everyone has had one so far. Niki's is obvious-Jessica. Matt gets constant headaches. Claire can actually die if she's struck the right way in the head, etc.

Of course, the more logical answer is that were finally starting to see some plotholes that need to be adressed.

peter is becoming too powerful... seriously wtf... right now he could kick sylars ass.....

there are only a few things they can do with his character now that will tone down his near god like powers....

one...he can become de-powered... with some kind of inhibitor

two... he could turn into a bad guy due to simones death.. he was taunting the guy.. and he drove him to get the gun... with the guilt that he would have from that and the amount of powers he has he could go crazy and destroy the city on purpose

three... he dies.... even though it would be sad... if something doesn't happen to stop him from being too powerful a character then there would be no point in other superpowered characters

when the series started and we learned about his power I figured ok.. not that bad.. as long as he needs to be near the person...

then when he started using the power without being in contact I was like.. ok maybe he'll use everyones powers but at like half power

but no... and now the holes in the shows quality will begin *sigh*

ps... i hated simone to begin with...

Other than that my bet is he'll end up dying, with some sort of self-sacrifice.Why? Because I like him, and so far all the people I like DIE! *cries*

Stop liking Claire this instant! She is my favorite!!

;)

I seriously am addicted to this show. I totally didn't see Simone dying either. Stupid Isaac, you shoulda taken the key!

And you know you get into a show when I'm yelling at the TV "I HOPE YOU FUCKING DIE SYLAR!!"

And you Canadians better not ruin it for us next week! LoL j/k.
But I am seriously jealous that you get to see it before us. Don't spoil it!

(*8*)

I just thought of something else. Isaac painted that Peter would show up in his apartment but couldn't forsee Simone's death? It's so random the things Isaac paints yet the most important thing of all to him (Simone) doesn't pop up in his mind?

I think the writers need to start explaining exactly how some people (Niki/Jessica, Hiro, Peter, Sylar) powers work and what their limits/weaknesses are.

Maybe Isaac took Simone away in the dream because... hmmm.. he took her away in real life...

He blew the bitch to bits!!!

I was sad.... .lol

I agree that Peter is getting waaaaaaay to powerful. He really has the potential to be pretty much indistructable, and that can make for a boring character.

I know i'm kinda late on the topic but I CAN'T believe Eden died. She was one of my favorite characters. I dont know why so many people found her annoying.
oh and i'm glad Simone died. Her story didn't seem to be going anywhere....

I love this show. I am very curious on how they are going to continue after this season. I hope that they don't try to continue on the same storyline of Peter blowing up New York....time to get some new material.

I would like to see the development of Matt (the telepath). He has a great ability, but his character gets little air time.

^ I don't like Matt, he's sort of a loser.

I think Nathan is a fucking dick.

Bennet's methods really make me hate him.

As for Sylar... I can't stand him at all. I Hate him, I actually don't like him, everything about him... he exudes evil so much... I just can't stand him...

(In fact he'd make a perfect Bolivar Trask in X-Men)

I do have to disagree with the people saying Nathan is getting too powerful.

I believe we'll see limits to his powers soon, in fact it could be argued Sylar is still more powerful...

Also we just all assumed, as did the characters that he only has other people's powers when he's in proximity of them. It's not a plot hole, it's character and story development.

I can understand your feelings on Matt considering he's so underdeveloped thanks to the writers favorite whiner Peter getting all the screentime. But he's starting to become more interesting, thankfully.

Agreed on Nathan, although since Adrian Pasdar is so yummy I just can't seem to fully hate the character.

Agreed on Sylar but you have to admit he's very complex and at least interesting to watch.

And of course we assumed that about Peter considering that was what the writers wanted us to assume. What else had the shown us to the contrary? But I do agree it's character development not plothole.

Mainly all I want to know now is what the limit for everyone is. Can they only obtain one power or can that one power branch out into multiple things like Hiro's time managment ability? So many questions but not in a way that frustrates me like that other show with all the questions, lol.

^I completely agree, especially about Ali Larter. I hope she gets her own explanation episode like Bennet is getting next week. Her character(s) have a lot that needs explained.

I loved her in the first two Final Destination movies, too.

Ok absolutely incredible.

My luv for Claire continues to grow. She is built of awesome, she is like a human power puff girl, sugar, spice and everything nice.

I'm so happy that Mr. Bennett turned out to be a good guy, loved the scene with he and Claire hugging at the end. It was a real turnaround. claire was just upset because she wanted answers and he wasnt giving them. But know that she knows some of the truth they are a loving family again. Good stuff.

I almost cried as Claire walked out of the house all burnt up, it was so powerful.

Hayden needs and Emmy, and thats real talk.

Couple things though. Because there were so many twists and turns, i got lost in some of it.

Can someone explain the twist at the end? with Claire, the Haitian and HRG. Because in the car Mr. Bennett said he was taking Claire to the place ( wherever that is) then all of sudden.

How is it that nobody suffered any radiation poison or got deformed when they were so close to the man while he was imploding?

How did Nathan end up at the facility under observation?

I thought they were going to kill Haitian, what was he doing there at the end?

Whats up with that bridge. It seems like thats where they do all the sidekick killing

It was cool how they made little Hiro push up his glasses. It's those little touches that make this series so great. Attention to detail.

And what's up with Hiro's dad? He was so against Hiro and his mission, but based on tonight it seems like he knew Hiro really has a power. So i don't know whats going on. Why did he want Hiro to come home and run the business, and come across like he didn't believe Hiro had a power. As it turns out he is a mastermind behind it all.

I still dont have a clue what really is going on, but i'm enjoying the ride.

OMFG! Let me just pick my mouth back up from the ground before I even attempt to respond...........okay, mouth's picked up :)

Claire is one of the best written characters on the show and Hayden Panettiere kicks ass as her.

Twist at the end? You mean the Haitian shooting Mr. Bennet and erasing his mind? If you remember when Mr. Bennet and Eric Robberts (can't remember his characters name) were talking about it, Mr. Bennet mentioned that the Haitian took Claire and was on the run. We also saw that he had Matt in containment.
I think Mr. Bennet arranged that so that there wouldn't be any possible way for Claire to be in danger (like there really is any). It's really sad that he probably won't remember his own daughter.

We don't really know all there is to know about the heroes powers and their side affects. His wife died over a period of increased prolonged exposure to the power, which we learned he can't control. He obviously can control it a little better now than before, but I think him not being able to really control it killed his wife. Because he can control it better, I think that has to be why no one got sick or anything. Of course, like I said, we don't know much about the side affects of their powers, let alone the powers themselves.

YAY! Now this means Claire can go to New York to meet up with her father and uncle! Now we just gotta get everyone else there.

Now, let's talk promo. Did anyone see that HOLY SHIT moment with Simone being alive with that 'wanna shoot me again?' line?

I have two theories on why she's alive. Obviously, she's most likely dead but if she isn't, it's because that entire fight was either a vision that Peter had (since we know he has them) or something Isaac was thinking about as he painted it and we just witnessed it happen as it was being painted, which, in both scenarios would mean she isn't dead (yet). My other theory is that, and this is the more obvious one, that one or both of them are experiencing extreme guilt, which will be fun to see played out if that's the case.

Still waiting for that hero that can bring people back from the dead, including themselves, though...(ahem Simone) LOL.

Great episode, but aren't they all? I seriously can't wait for this show to be on DVD. Blu Ray preferably.

The promo...oh my god...

What the hell is Simone? "You wanna shoot me again?" That goes high on the list of best lines ever on the show, along with "Who needs God when you've got me?"

This episode was great. Enough said. I can't wait for the coming weeks and the "final chapters."

I think Simone is going to end up being a Villain.

They need more villains, if they plan to continue the series, because it has unlimited potential. Or they might just leave it a one-shot.

God I hope it's not just a one shot. But I also hope Tim Kring and the writers have a plan for the series so it doesn't end up another show-that-shall-not-be-named.

I think it would be better for them to have each season be self-contained, i.e. "the final chapters" should actually be the FINAL chapters for this storyline.

This year has all been about trying to stop the nuclear explosion in New York and dealing with the outside forces of HRG, Sylar, and Linderman. They should wrap up all of those stories by the end of this season and start season 2 with all new storylines and challenges for the Heroes. I think that would be a good way of avoiding what's happening to Lost. You can only carry this type of story-telling on for so long before it gets tiresome. They need to answer all of the questions they bring up in a timely manner or people will start getting annoyed. Plus, I REALLY want to see Sylar die and really soon.

Excellent points and a very good idea, hopefully one they'll use. Most likely the nuclear explosion plot will be dealt with but I'm not so sure about the Sylar plot. I kinda hope it isn't resolved just because he's such a fascinating character (yes he's evil and people want him dead but WHY is he evil, there's got to a be a more solid answer than what we think we know) and Zachary Quinto is really hot, lol.
