The Heroes: Season 1 Part 2 Thread

They already took a break during November and December so why do they need another one?

It's March Sweeps for the main 4 networks.

There's no such thing as March Sweeps. There's November, February, and May Sweeps. It's when the networks pull out all of the stops to bring in ratings and therefore, bring in advertisers. With shows like this, the networks blow their budgets making them as good as possible.

Also, it seems like NBC, at least, is trying to reduce the number of repeats they show for their programs this season. They only have 13-24 episodes (22 is standard) of each of their shows, so in order to NOT show repeats, the shows have to go on hiatus from time to time. ER is doing the same thing right now.

There actually is for the top 4 markets, and this would carry over to all markets since they are basing it on the top 4.

The current top 4 TV markets are (as referenced from http://www.mediainfocenter.org/compare/top50/#tv:

NYC, LA, Chicago, and Philly (which is where I fall into being in the Philly Metro Area).

I will say that I'm pretty sure they're mostly having a hiatus because they aren't done filming the final episodes. I read an interview with Tim Kring saying the wrap filming around the 28th of march.

Wow i watched this weeks episode again earlier today and it was even better the second time around.

This time tears welled up in my eyes during the final scenes.

"I love you Claire Bear :( "

Something was a abit odd though because why wouldn't the head guy suspect that Mr. Bennett knew Claire had a super power and was hiding her?

Mr. Bennett left Claire in the house to sedate the nuclear man, what kind of father would let his daughter stay in that building, so obviously the head guy should have put 2 and 2 together. But no he only went after the Haitian.

Next week better be twice as good as this week or even 3 times as great because we wont have a new episode until, brace yourself, April 23rd. Thats 8 long weeks, what are we going to do?

I am going to have to go to rehab, maybe me and Britney can record a duet lol.

Well if they are going to make us wait 8 weeks then the last episodes of the season i suspect will be mindblowing.

I don't think the hiatus is coming...

I think the Season Finale is.

If I remember correctly, Episode 23 will be the last episode of this season. Then comes the long break with no new episodes until season two rolls around.

There's also a rumour going around that Season Two will be VERY different in terms of characters, villains and situtations. There's been insinuations, but nothing confirmed, that season two will focus on an entirely new group of heroes and their situations.

Whether or not this is true remains to be seen, but if it is, I'm sure that certain characters would have to be held over for the sake of the story. (Such as Hiro's father, Mr. Bennet/HRG, and anyone else who still works for the "Company".)

But, who knows. Hopefully it's not true.

Huh, to the first part of your statement? I'm nit sure I understand what you're trying say exactly. Yes, 23 will be the final episode of the season, but we've only seen 17 so far, and there will be a hiatus before 19-23.

As for the rest of your post, I half like the idea of a completely new cast because I think it would be completely engrossing and so unlike any other series like it if it constantly changes large chunks if not all of it's cast every season. Especially if they cast recognizable faces like Ali Larter and co again.

But that's the half I don't like. I don't see that as likely BECAUSE they are such recognizable faces and the show is so popular, I doubt they'd get rid of them all. Maybe one or two but not all. Also, some people have amazing abilities (Peter, Claire, Hiro) It'd probably be really hard coming up with equally amazing powers that don't mimic ones before it each season.

But I guess we'll see, won't we?

That's kinda a cool idea to have new heroes every season. I could get into that. Though Claire seems to be turning into the new Buffy. They may have to carry her over.

I read it somewhere that they are taking a break for American Idol or soemthing.. or maybe not...?

Oh.....my......god.....

I cannot speak. One of the top three episodes by far of the season. A big middle finger to NBC for making us wait until April 23rd.

Unbelievable. This show just gets better and better. I'll comment later. I have to breathe, or get a drink, or something.

OH AND - GOOD CALL REAPER on Malcolm McDowell!!

Wow, what a brutal episode...

The new woman working for the Company is awesome. I love her power. It was sad that Simone is really dead, but that was a cool scene. I wonder what happened to Mrs. Bennet. That poor woman has been though so much.

I'm glad that Mohinder finally stopped being boring. Why didn't he just kill Sylar when he first had the chance?

I hope Peter OWNS him. I want to see Sylar's ass kicked beyond recognition. Peter has the one power that Sylar has wanted all along - Claire's regeneration. Sylar doesn't stand a chance.

Speaking of Claire, I liked how she tricked the Haitian and then met her grandmother.

This Niki vs. Jessica thing keeps getting better. Niki was awesome with Nathan. I think Niki is going to keep getting stonger until the point that she can completely control Jessica and the super strength. That'll be amazing. However, shooting the FBI agents? That's not Jessica's style. I wanted to see them get ripped in half!

I expected Linderman to be more evil.

OMG is totally right. Is it just me or does it seem like each new episode of Heroes is better than the one before it?

NBC deserves more than a big middle finger for that long ass wait. Especailly given all the scandalous promo shots we got (Claire as a brunette still yummy!) They should really consider adopting a 24 or LOST type scheduele for next season.

No big review yet, I'm still tripping out like you. But I will comment on some things I noticed.

This episode featured nearly every character that we've been introduced to that's still alive in the series.

Also, for all you gamers, Jessica and Micah were playing a PS3 game called Heavenly Sword that won't be out until this summer. Boy was it sweet to see it in action.

Also how sweet was the Spiderman 3 promo?

AHHH, let me go calm down, lol.

PS-Yes Reaper, good call on naming Linderman. The first thing I thought 'Reaper was right!' the second thing I thought 'god, he was right' lol.

I THOUGHT THE SAME THING!! DAMN you JUB!

Ummm, get out of my head monkey. Could you have SAID everything that I was thinking but was too lazy to type?

;)

Oh, and thanks for reminding me. I thought Spiderman 2 was AWESOME, and I will now be going to nbc.com to watch the rest. woo!

Man that was truly Kick-ass. Hiro got the sword and sees the future, Nikki is starting to get some control, and best of all we find out Mama Petrelli was the Haitians boss. Man this show is so great, every episode we get good answers and even better questions. But damn we have to wait till April, that blows and not in a good way.

Woo! I was thought of during Heroes!

I wish I could take all the credit, but the rumour been kicked around for a long time before I posted it here...Just simply let all my fellow JUBers into the loop.

And, since you're all collecting your thoughts, I have a day on you all :D thanks to Global (A Canadian TV station) pushing Heroes to sunday night so they can show The Black Donnellys on Monday.

But itwas a great episode...

I'm nervous as hell to find out what's going to happen to Mr. Bennet/HRG considering the predicament he just got himself into...

The new power was unexpected, somehow I just didn't see a morpher entering the picture...

Sylar + pissed off Mohinder = GREAT SCENES...Watching Mohinder take that tuning fork to Sylar's ears...Wow, simply great...

And of course, Linderman. You got a love a figure so imposing off screen that everyone is afraid of...To be a rather old man who loves Pot Pies. Greatest way to make a character more evil: Make him look friendly when you first introduce him. That way, when he goes to his badass self...It's more delightful.

And of course...Peter....

Should be interesting to see what happens there..

Of course we thought of you Reaper. We all luv you here :)

It'd be weird watching Heroes on Sunday night I think. I much prefer Monday-Wednesday.

I didn't think about a morpher either, especially given all those commercial with Simone. Hello, a show about people with powers! It should have entered my mind, lol.

I cheered when Mohinder revealed he knew Sylar wasn't Zane. And I was screaming at him to shoot him the first time when it probably would have worked. I guess that drug wasn't powerful enough if he managed to stop his IV drip though.

I loved the scene with HRG and his wife at the beginning. I wonder where she is since it was Morhper girl in her place the second time. He'll be able to get out of it, I'm sure, but not without consequences.

I forgot while I was watching Sylar cut Peter's head that he had Claire's regenerative ability, lol. So of course I was screaming 'NO!'. But yeah, he's so gonna kick Sylar's ass come April 23. I can't wait.

Someone mentioned that Nikki is finally regaining some power over jessica. How is that shaping up plot wise, and is Jessica finally regretting becoming a hit woman ? I'm asking 'cause she is my fave character and personally I feel her development will have the biggest payoff come the final confrontation in the season finale, as the ones that take the most time to develope on tv of film normally have the bigger pay off for the viewers who invest in them.

I don't think Jessica regrets anything, ever. I think Niki is just gaining more confidence and strength and is able to control Jessica more than she could when the season started. The way that Jessica affected Niki in the beginning is the way that Niki is affecting Jessica now. I can't wait to see how it all turns out and we FINALLY find out what exactly is going on with her.

That sums up my feelings as well doctorsun.

My brother and I were just talking about Heroes and he actually brought up a good point. Anytime Claire heals herself, she must actually undergo the pain and injury first. Obviously, her abilites allows for the pain to be subdued a great deal (thus walking through fire, putting hands in garbage disposals without screaming) but she still must actually undergo the injury before it heals.

Now to my point. Peter has her ability through his ability, obviously. But if Sylar is slicing his head open to get at his brain, how exactly would Peter be able to save himself without using any other powers? He can't rapid-heal the injury as it happens and if Sylar gets the brain, he gets the ability, so there would be no coming back to life for Peter.

I'm gonna love seeing howthe writers get Peter out of his jam, lol.
