Danik, I forgot to address one of your points.

You pointed to Clinton getting a blowjob in the White House. Well, Danik, Bill Clinton did not run on a platform of family values. I have said several times that I really don't care about a politician's sex life unless there's an element of hypocrisy involved.

Sanford's situation is unique among both Reps and Dems because he abandoned his work duties in order to have the sex.

Gawd, I feel like I'm talking to a child. Do you righties really have trouble understanding such a simple situation?

What always stuns me in discussions about the war in Iraq is the one simple fact that always seems to get ignored. I have friends in Iraq right now and I have friends in Afghanistan. Iraq at least for the time being has the first democratically elected government they have ever had. Can you imagine that? It might not be perfect, they have some flaws ( like we don't? ) but they have a freely elected representative government. That's fucking amazing! Our troops gave them the chance to choose for themselves for the first time in over 2000 years, and still we have people pissing and whining about the "oil war". Are you kidding?

What's with the obsession with "democracy"? Just because it works for us (arguably) doesn't mean it's the best system of governance for everyone. I believe Iraq will bear that out.

Personally I'm reading up on the Libertarian Party. They seem rather supportive of gay rights.

They aren't supportive, per se, more than they're just completely hands off. IOW, useless.
