I thought his speech was powerful and rather moving. His recognition of gay rights is historical, but it also represents real leadership. His own stance on gay marriage progressed through his first term, his support of the issue now is strong and NOT politically prudent. Real leaders sometimes do what's right, not always what is expedient.

Despite unprecedented hostility, record filibustering and a stagnant global economy, Obama's first term achieved a surprisingly great deal of substantial policy achievement. I'm looking forward to his second "gloves-off" term.
