They did the same thing in my gym class.

Our grade was 1/3 did you change to gym clothes, 1/3 did you participate (thankfully you did not have to be good) and 1/3 did you shower.

The first few weeks he actually checked the names off as you came to the window to get your towel - after that he just noticed if he did not see you getting a towel or having wet hair.

I've noticed that stores seem to be phasing out jockstraps and "pushing" people to wear compression shorts. It seems due to a new form of homophobia in response/backlash to the increase in LGBT civil rights and awareness of their existence. Guys, especially YOUNG straight guys, seem to be extremely modest and prudish, fear being seen nude in any way, and also fear nudity of other males. Nudity is becoming even more taboo, even the Coppertone Girl has been covered up on the new bottles since 2012. Communal showers and urinals without partitions seem to becoming a thing of the past.

Hello: I am an older person and I can tell you the days of liberation and sexual expression ARE over unfortunately. That applies to straights and gays. There is nothing more sexless # on guys than compression shorts, those long tight boxer shorts and cargo shorts. Back in the 70s and 80s all the tradie ( sexy) guys wore those stubbies short shorts . They were as hot as hell . These days it is the new conservatism and prudishness that is espoused by the right wing side of politics, and that is gaining momentum whether we like it or not.

We were all supposed to wear jocks - it was on our list of mandatory items for gym class - and everyone did AT FIRST. But as the school year went on more and more started wearing briefs as nothing was ever said.
