Oh lord...I ended up getting into a back-and-forth with one of those uber-bigots who say gays eat-the-poo-poo type of guys online last night. I just can't. You guys know there's no chance of making those types "get it".

You know, as much foolishness and hatred I am used to seeing and hearing...I STILL can't understand why some people are so bothered by others' sexual orientation in such a manner.

I don't think you were being persecuted for your sexuality. Also, the people here are not going out of their way to make the lives of bisexual men and women difficult by pushing for or supporting laws and policy that hinders you from living your life as a bisexual man.

Your sexual orientation DOES directly and sometimes indirectly effect the lives of gay men. The two overlap. I don't think gay men wanting to understand bisexual men more is the same as heterosexual bigots doing the things I mentioned above. Not sure you understood the basis of my irritation in the post that you quoted.

As I recall Mikey, two people were of that opinion in the entire thread -- maybe I missed one. The other x pages of the thread went off on tangents, one of them being about what causes homosexuality.

It wasn't until people argued with you over your theory on homosexuality that you ran off and created a thread saying you were being bi-bashed. And none of those people were attacking your sexuality, but your theory.

This is turning into a multi-day parade of wounded pride.

Actually, what I did was clarify my statement to you. I said nothing about bisexual men not existing. And NO...that is not equal to heterosexuals pretending that they know what goes on in the bedrooms of gays and lesbians.

I'd still call that persecution, though it's certainly not as extreme.

Ridiculing the legitimacy of someone's existence is pretty awful. And it's done so casually towards bisexuals. Even as gays are doing everything they can to prove to straights that they are healthy, "normal" human beings, the need to put down bisexuals tends to go hand in hand. It's rather ridiculous.

ok...and I'm sorry, but just because some bisexuals feel it's a "forbidden topic" to discuss them and our experiences with them does not persecution make. But you are free to feel anyway you like about it. Call it what you will. okay?

And ridicule? Please. The mere mentioning of our experiences with bisexuals immediately causes them to go on the defense.

I repeat...heterosexuals worrying about our sex lives/relationships does not directly affect them. bisexual men DO affect gay men because we occasionally have sex and/or relationships with them. Trying to understand them or open a dialogue about it is not ridicule. Some people may have had some bad experiences that color their view and opinions on the topic, but the disrespect and ridicule is not as prevalent as you guys like to make it seem.

Then you have a hidden talent for acting skills, because the thread had almost universally condemned cgymike's original post and most of the rest of the discussion was a series of different topics, and no one was talking about, or agreeing with, cgymike's original post at the time you proffered that theory. And you weren't bugging him in the slightest but you were giving all the rest of us an old-fashioned disorder based theory for homosexuality. So if now you're saying you were doing it on purpose to "get back at gay people", how are you the victim again?

good grief, mikey...that is not what I said. I know you feel really attacked sometimes...but please go back and reread my posts. You're taking your frustration out on the wrong person...not to mention, we're starting to repeat ourselves now.

I would consider you to be in a much more credible position to make these kinds of complaints if you weren't running around this forum saying things like "anyone doing hookups unprotected is probably poz anyway."

You've done plenty of exactly the same thing you seem to think we should all collectively apologize to you for because a few gay people are skeptical about bisexuality.
