Yeah, the second store manager I mentioned had to learn the hard way that when hiring, "older" doesn't necessarily translate to "better worker". I remember she hired this one woman as a cashier.

Our store was a small 5-aisle boutique type store in a strip shopping center. We had carpet, and it had to be vacuumed every night before closing. This woman closed one night with my store manager. The manager has straightened the entire store, all she asked the woman to do was vacuum.

The cashier flat told my manager, "I don't vacuum at home, so I'm not going to do it here, either."

I didn't tell my store manager, "I told you so!", but then again, I didn't need to.

Not particularly sure why I can help everyone else around me with good advice, but it when it comes to me, I don't trust a word that comes out of my head. It's driving me nuts and I'm turning into a right nasty piece of work as my grandmother would say.

I hate those sites that want you to type in their words for security verification, before logging in. But those words are always twisted, slanted, distorted, and in some fucked-up font. And if you try to get their "audio assistance", it's always some unintelligible robotic gibberish. I know they are trying to keep the bots away but could you at least make it so that I don't have to stand on my head or be fucked sideways to understand what message they want me to type??
