We are lucky enough to not have snow yet. But right now it's down to 15. :( Though I have already been doubling up when going out anyway.
 
I'm actually more than a little pissed off that the person who ploughs our lane hasn't been around to clear it yet.

I need to find someone new to hire to keep it sorted out and they are hard to find around here.
 
MATT! I'm sorry it's so effing cold, but it's good to see you.

We had just shy of a foot Thursday night overnight to Friday early AM.
Haven't been outside yet today, but the plows were through.

It's supposed to warm up and rain.
Maybe it'll be a White Christmas.
 
Only four more days till the Solstice but it's far too warm here to feel like Yule. It doesn't seem remotely wintery at the moment, just damp and foggy.

It means I'm not anal-retentive or delusional enough to have actually tried to count how many instances of the thinking I've had. I was gonna go for a long string of hopefully obvious random numbers but then I thought, Fuckit, I'll go for the gold.

I ended up scrounging a bit of cheese and crackers. The smoked cheddar goes obscenely well with the last bit of bacon jam. Unfortunately after a few crackers I realized I should prolly make an actual meal. I badly want general tso's, refuse to thaw the chicken just to make it tho. There's only so much effort I wanna put into food atm and scratch cooking isn't on the list. Not sure what we have that isn't, though. I think there might be a box of stuffing tucked away in a cupboard? Alls I know is I'm not eating another ramen package till Monday or so help my stomach.

I know I know, you wouldn't think the flavor would go together quite so well. I ended up snagging it after one of those free sample things at the grocers. And there's still a few tablespoons left in the jar, lasted a couple months. It was also 4 bucks or so on sale.

I coulda went out & taken a very similar pic (even same type of tree if that is a blue spruce like it looks)
And yep 'fucking cold' is a perfect description of the weather right now... -6F/-21C

But my real venting is computer related:
Got a new soundcard for one of my computers (because the on-motherboard audio device sucks)...
I wasted a good chunk of the day trying to get that little fucker to work, finally gave up its not worth wasting any more time of that piece of shit..
So back to square one, time to go on eBay & look for something else.
 
I apparently have the thing where you say a word you were thinking but meant to say something else, but with the keyboard where I type something else instead. Odd.
 
So my brother called the other day about my decisions to not associate with people because of their vote. I appreciate that he reached out to me but I hate the fact I knew how the conversation was going to go before we had it, which is where all the responsibility is apparently on me and I need to understand how other people feel, etc etc.

I told him I would think about our conversation, but not really because I have already ran the decisions through my head a 100 times over and I don't feel like I did anything wrong or that needs explaining to people, especially when I have already done it.

I kind of wish we would talk about politics and religion at family get togethers, so people know everyone stands and get it out there instead of all the passive aggressive bullshit that happens in between.

It is the problem with right wing reactionaries. They are always the victims and everyone always needs to understand how right wing straight white men 'feel'.

Ugh.

I find that families that don't try to force get-togethers because religious and political differences always colour the event can actually get along better. In any event, this year, I think there are millions of people who are trying to give family and friends a pass to spend a quieter reflective Christmas without it being tainted by the sure-to-happen political conversations.
