I honestly don't think I'll ever find my purpose in life. Ever. It's so saddening. My current job and industry makes me so miserable and I have no clear path out.

Why have baseball opening day in Cleveland on the 4th of April? They've already postponed the game because it's 29° it's not going to be baseball weather here for another 3 weeks
 
One of my staff made a mistake that I wouldn't have known to look for and it is taking everything I have today not to yell at him.

Not for the mistake as much as him not coming right out and telling me that it was a fuck-up, but making me find out through a client sending questions that gradually led me to seeing where he had made the mistake. This is a 20 year staffer we're talking about...what the fuck is the problem with guys taking ownership of the mistake?

Now we look like idiots or like we were trying to avoid blame.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.

I am thinking of a temporary move, though. Maybe a two year masters program abroad somewhere. Out of New York, out of the USA.

Hahahah, I know that struggle. They postponed the Yankees home opener as well. Can't say I'm that upset, though, because whenever a game is rained out, the rescheduled game is way cheaper. As soon as they announced the game rainout, I ran to StubHub for tickets and called one of my friends. I'm now going to the home opener tomorrow for $17 a ticket.

It cost me $90 last time I went to one.

I've been sharing this video all day, though.

In 96, it actually snowed here during the home opener.

I have spent the morning venting in the best passive aggressive way possible in emails to people who are trying to control a project that I had assumed full responsibility for executing as a volunteer, a purchasor/project co-ordinator who effectively admitted that a national proposal call was a complete window dressing exercise and the supplier of a product who had been warned and warned and warned to make sure that the most common problem was avoided...but who did not...leading me to recommend that it just be replaced. Period. I don't want to waste any more of my life while incompetents try to fix something to make it work.

So think of this post as being me screaming into my pillow.

Good job you dumb biatch. Sirens and more sirens. There must've been a dozen fire trucks, cops, ambulance. Burned her apartment, big fire. Firemen up on the roof with chainsaws cutting holes looking to see if the fire had gone into the attic. It hadn't. Young woman with a 3 week old baby lived in that apartment, they weren't home. The apartment next to hers', heavy smoke damage. Apartment under waterlogged.

Thankfully nobody was hurt.

That was at 4:00pm. On the 6:00pm news, the cause was known. A hookah on her deck. It had hot ashes in it and caught the building on fire. Have fun finding another apartment because you're now evicted.
