the last film you watched thread

Batman 1989 and Batman Returns 1992.

I'm gonna check out the other two films tomorrow... I am so gonna need to be drunk to get through those two. :0

Interior Leather Bar
The people the film follows talk a lot about how they don't know what the point of it is. All while James Franco is seen doing little more than texting/tweeting on his phone. I'm inclined to agree.

Guardians of the Galaxy
Very fun but far from a classic. Worth watching for the special effects and production design, and perhaps the soundtrack. The script is often just terrible.

Edge of Tomorrow
If you can still find this at a second-run cinema, as I did, see it! Far more enjoyable than Guardians of the Galaxy. This movie is more fresh and entertaining than the run-of-the-mill summer alien invasion flick it appears to be. Better action, better script, better characters, better acting, and better humor than any big summer flick I've seen in years.

There must have been a mighty breeze blowing when Seidler penned the script to The King's Speech (2010). Woo. I'm rumpled.

The Collector and The Collection

The first one was okay for me tho there were some holes but it's more solid but the second one is just plain boring.

The Great Mouse Detective.

Disney... get back to making movies like that.

"The Skeleton Twins" with SNL vets Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig. I also LOVE Boyd Holbrook!!! Very powerful.

The BBC/PBS adaptation of The Mystery of Edwin Drood (2012).

So... just finished the Batman Anthology Blu-ray set with the following:

Batman Forever: Directed by Joel Schumacher
Chris O'Donnell would have made a cute Robin in a more serious film.
That is probably the only redeemable element from this film, other than Kilmer's furry chest.
Everything else just...

Next.

Batman and Robin: Directed again by Joel Schumacher

Obviously, no one ever told Schumacher that less is more.

My goodness does this film suck... it derailed the film careers of O'Donnell, Silverstone and Vivica A. Fox.
It also made the others involved look ridiculous... I'm looking at you Uma, George and... and... Glover.
Why no Arnold?

The less said.

Still, the only redeemable value in thi... fuck it. Watching this was like purposely chewing on tinfoil through out.

Annabelle, seems like it premiered earlier on my country. It has some thrilling moments, I kinda like it, it has the same tone as the first Insidious

Maya Deren's Divine Horsemen: The Living Gods of Haiti (1947-1951) on 16mm.

And the superb and weird Suddenly, Last Summer (1959).

Dracula Untold. Good show and I hope will get another film hopefully a better recount of the Stocker book that we have had in recent years.
