I'm torn between Blue Valentine and Rabbit Hole this weekend...

Somehow, I'd never managed to watch The Lost Boys until just now.

^^Holy crap balls.

saw "The Dilemma"

liked it - not A+ but fun while also tackling a tough subject

I believe the last one I watched was "Winter's Bone"....great, subdued film. It's not a flashy action movie, not a sappy romantic movie or a comedy....just a touching movie about a young girl trying to protect her family.

What a pleasant discovery Trick 'r Treat turned out to be, a real sleeper. Mischievous writing, colors you can smell and clever art direction. With such popular production values it deserved a wider audience.

It would be sweet if you rated them top to bottom, but I hope you'll at least report back with your opinions on the best and worst of them.

The last movie I saw was Perrier's Bounty. A really interesting black comedy Irish film! ..|

It also has my second favorite actor Cillian Murphy in it!

Winter's Bone. It was ok. Not sure why people think it deserves to be an Oscar nominee for best picture though. I guess Hollywood elitists are into movies about the lives of meth-cooking hillbillies.

And another one, A Jihad for Love a documentary about the mostly heartbreaking lives gay Muslims face around the world.

I loved this film. It is so full of unsavory characters, and some of them scare the shit out of you. That hand cutting scene in the dark swamp was chilling. The sisters beating up the girl in the barn, heartless. Who would have thought those horrible people could find heart enough to do the right thing.

White Material

In an unnamed African country in the throes of a volatile regime change, Maria Vial, played by the electrifying Isabelle Huppert, is trying to sustain the coffee plantation she runs with her ex-husband André, played by Christophe Lambert (Highlander, Greystoke). Unknown to her, he has other plans. With the regular army preparing to regain control, French forces have moved out, warning the remaining white residents that they're on their own if they stay behind. Featured in the Venice, Toronto, New York and Los Angeles film festivals, White Material is an extraordinarily visceral, potent and very personal rumination on a society turned upside down.
