the last film you watched thread

A slow-motion explosion:

1975's Jeanne Dielmann, 23 Quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles

Excruciating, microscopically vivid, a movie that blows like a blast of wind off the screen.

NOT for everyone.

The first one today, the sequel tomorrow...

I didn't even watch them and the Oscars still annoyed me.

So I watched a terrible film about a lanky nitwit who fights intergalactic battles circa 1989: Arena.

You?

James Bond: Quantum of Solace.

Fassbinder's Querelle starring Brad Davis.

^ How much better do gay movies get? ..|

Each man kills the thing he loves, each man kills the thing he loves, da de da, da da duh da.

Forgiving The Hendersons.

Not real good.

Spoiler Alert!!!!

The hot gay son along with the Mom and Dad are killed near the end of the film.

I just watched "Shank". It's different.

Though gang member Cal (Wayne Virgo) hides his sexuality, he secretly yearns for fellow thug Jonno (Tom Bott). But after Cal saves Olivier (Marc Laurent), the victim of a gay-bashing by the gang, he embarks on a tender romance with the gentle student. Now the gang's manipulative leader, Nessa (Alice Payne), is out for revenge. Simon Pearce makes his directorial debut with this gritty British drama.

A 2007 documentary, For The Bible Tells Me So, about 5 contemporary American christian families' experiences around being gay and coming out.

I watched The Sound of Music last night. Altho I've seen bits and pieces and short clips, it was the first time I watched it in it's entirety.

They don't make them like that anymore.

I can't explain it...but I love the Sound of Music.

I bought the 45th anniversary DVD...it also came with a Blu Ray Disc. But, I don't have Blu Ray player.

Battle LA - silly and predictable

but quite fun :)

Almodóvar's Carne trémula. Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are in it. Not as good as Almodóvar's latest films, but really good nonetheless. By the way, is it weird that I find Bardem much more attractive as a paraplegic in this movie than as a hopeless womanizer in Woody Allen's Vicky Cristina Barcelona?

I might be a litle late to the game on this one, but I'm not one of those people who has to see a movie as soon as it becomes available on DVD. Anyway, I found it weaker than the original.

Stuart Gordon's From Beyond. Someday, someone will adapt an H.P. Lovecraft story which surpasses Gordon's Re-Animator and we will joyfully sacrifice our faculties for the worm-eaten spectre of such an unlikely composition.
