the last film you watched thread

You can't imagine less imposing gangsters than those in 1952's Casque d'Or.

Their chief ammunition isn't the bullet, but...the slap. Feathers get ruffled, literally. Draughts of absinthe fuel polite fires.

I'd say it's only quaint, except it has all the elements that made later examples of the genre so potent. Watch it if gangsters are your thing, but skip it otherwise.

Final Destination 5! I think this is the last final destination movie..

I recently spoke with Producer Craig Perry about the future of the series and he said that chances are that yes, this is the last one. There is still a very small possibility of Final Destination 6 and Final Destination 7. Unfortunately, even if they're good, they'll most likely be released direct to DVD/Blu Ray.

Anyway. The last movie I watched was Dawn Of The Dead (2004).

Lars von Trier's Breaking the Waves.

Emily Watson is phenomenal but it's not the easiest film to watch.

The Brood (Cronenberg, 1979).

This may be a horror film that plays on the nerves of people who have to negotiate reproduction. And though I don't think I lack empathy, on the nerves of heterosexual men. I found it not unnerving.

What a terrific climax it delivers, though. Quintessential Cronenberg yuckiness.

I'd forgotten how violent this movie is! I first saw it when I was 5 or 6, but it seemed cooler back then...

Jessica Alba is Honey Daniels, a choreographer who teaches hip-hop dance to the kids down at the center. But just when her dreams start to come true, she faces a problem that can tear it all apart...her boss wants to fuck her!

On Friday I saw 5 movies back to back to back to back:

Abduction
Killer Elite
The Lion King 3D
Moneyball
The Debt

They were all very good. In fact the one movie was shot entirely in my hometown. I was an extra for it.
