the last film you watched thread

A vaudevillian slasher from Michele Soavi, StageFright: Aquarius (1987). Great cinematography and the killer wears an owl mask!

Last week I saw One For The Money and This Means War at the movies. I thought they were both good.

Saw Catfish yesterday and I loved it. I usually like to watch movies without knowing much about the movie. I heard it was a good movie so I decided to give it a try. I loved it. I usually never watch a movie twice, I would definitely watch this again.

Double Feature Today:
The Space Between (2010)
The Rage in Placid Lake (2003) ... starring Sydney's own Ben Lee who will be performing with his band in NYC tomorrow night

A documentary about Ray Kurzweil and the technological singularity, Transcendent Man (2009). It's a good overview of the futurist's ideas, with a solid biographical element.

I'm a sucker for his imagination (although not necessarily a supporter) and the visions he entertains via technology are at turns grotesque, terrifying and even salvific.

Kurzweil plots a speculative course in which humans overcome not just disease and death, but also metamorphose into hybrid machines trillions of times more intelligent than we currently are and ultimately voyage into the stars creating pan-intelligent matter, which he jokes is the evolution of God.

Jumper (2008)

The first half hour was great, but the movie left a lot unanswered. Overall I liked it and I hope they are still planning on making a part two.

Pan's Labyrinth (2006). I usually like foreign films, and this one was no exception. An adult fairy tale with a great blend of reality and fantasy

Click (2006)

One of the most predictable movies I have ever saw. It was a good waste of time though.

anyone have Netflix? ...

No Man's Land (2001) won Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film
New Town Killers (2008) thrilling chase scenes around Edinburgh

The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn
It was okay.

Dancer in the Dark
Very very depressing

The Three Musketeers

Not great.

I'm chasing a man and unfortunately asked me to see 'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' with him last night.

It was dead boring. It should have stayed as a talk-fest on TV. It was determined to avoid all drama.

I watched The Help. Such a good movie! Should of gotten the Oscar for Movie of The Year! :)

Cowboys and Aliens. Blech! The first half was ok. But then it got reallly boring. But all was not lost. Seeing Daniel Craig in chaps was a nice consolation.
