My Week With Marilyn

Watched it yesterday and liked it very much. Bravo Michelle Williams and Kenneth Branagh.

I saw it a couple of months ago for the first time.. I generally like his movie as well but I didn't quite get the same feeling that I usually got when I saw his other movies. I don't know - it didn't quite get to me in the same way. I guess I can't escape the fact that my opinion might have been a little influenced by my dislike of Kirsten Dunst - urgh!

I just watched

and regardless of the very bad reviews it got (which I don't really understand) I really liked it. It was cute and warm and reminded me a bit of "Little Miss Sunshine".

Charlotte Gainsbourg was the actress in Antichrist and also acted with Dunst in von Trier's Melancholia, which I haven't seen yet. Perhaps you are confusing the two films? I suspect if you had seen Antichrist you would find it more....memorable.

No, you're absolutely right. My bad, I mixed Antichrist up with Melancholia - sorry. I really liked Antichrist actually. It was a good movie - very dark and deep.

A glowing and clever fit to its theme of illustrated manuscripts The Secret of Kells (2009) may be somewhat overlooked. If you like well-drawn animation, you will like this. It's a delight.

Battle Royale. it's a japanese movie that some claim The Hunger Games ripped off. they are similar, but very different. i saw this one for the first time today and i was massively impressed by how good it was.

^^ I actually saw The Hunger Games this afternoon with a friend. Quite enjoyed it, and it was a good adaptation at that too. I'd like to see Battle Royale, but I'll try to view it as it's own film without a comparison to Hunger Games (which is difficult since everyone is comparing the two nowadays).
