the last film you watched thread

A Clockwork Orange.

its a really good film. my favorite from Stanley Kubrick.

i haven't seen it in a while but i felt like re-watching again it because it's the favorite movie of this guy i'm attracted to, and i forgot how good the movie is.

A swank 70s-licious filching of The Exorcist, Beyond the Door (1974). Along with the even more ridiculous Lisa and the Devil, this makes a perfect bookend for the original. Fun cinematography. Bonus: directed by someone named Ovidio Assonitis.

Bridesmaids :rotflmao:

"Oh you're from Milwaukee? Oh, I'M SORRY!"

"Wow, this is some fancy ass shit up in here."
"I want to apologize. I'm not even confident of which end that came out of."

"I have three teenage boys. There's semen everywhere. I mean everywhere." "The other day, I broke a blanket in half." "Do you get what I'm saying here? I actually broke it in HALF."

Also, if for some reason Beyond the Door doesn't look like your cup of tea you should at least watch this clip of the hero being menaced by street musicians. It's one of many incredible details in the movie (only on the Code Red release, btw).

Start watching at 7:25.

I watched Shank on netflix. Terrible. The movie started out pretty boring. Then it got weird. Back to boring. And then the end... well, the movie ended on such a dark and morose note that I wanted to hang myself. What a terrible movie. Terrible movie. The cast wasn't attractive, nor could they act. The sex scenes were uncomfortable rather than hot or even interesting... The camera angles throughout the film were amateur... I just can't think of anything positive to say about the movie.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Swedish-language version)

The Girl who Played with Fire (Swedish-language version)

The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (Swedish-language version)

^ This was my first knowledge of the stories, having neither read the books nor seen the recently released American version of the first. I thought they were OK. That main character Lisbeth Salander had one HELL of a bad life. I mean, sexual abuse, psychiatric confinement, more sexual abuse, shot and buried by her own father but narrowly escaping? Sheesh. Kind of difficult not to sympathise for her after that colossal ordeal.

Each one seemed to have a different theme. First one was like an unsolved mystery puzzle from the past with a lot of graphic content of murder, rape, torture, sexual violence. Second one was like a crime-busting drama of underworld take-down. Third one was like a tale of cover-up, blackmail, intrigue and corrupt government officials.

Prometheus
Finally.
Well, I think I liked it except for some scenes and characters. Need a sequel for a final opinion.

And please, I hope Damon Lindelof will never write any screenplay again.
I hate that guy...

I had assumed that Trollhunter (2010) was a Mega-Shark vs. Giant Octopus sort of movie, that is a grain of intrigue lacquered in a pearl of shit. It's not.

It's a snappy tour of a goosepimple fairyland. The special effects are clever; delightful as they may be they somehow still manage to play second-fiddle to the dazzling shots of Norway itself. Good lighthearted fun.

"Help me, I'm poor."

I watched all three in one weekend a while back. Good films.

The Tree of Life. A film with lots of philosophical mumbo jumbo covering birth, life, death, the universe, and everything in between. And I loved it. I suspect many here would find it long and boring. But it connected with me; I identified with much of the little details. Probably one of the best films I have seen this year, or in many years.

I adored Malick's film too, though the more popular reaction is hate. I think it's about as close as modernity gets to the sacred. I gave some reactions in this thread in posts #1227 and #1230.

This weekend we watched "District 9" which was absolutely awesome, I was not expecting very much of it and it simply blew me away at how good it was. We also watch "The Hunger Games" it was really great and will definitely worth watching again. Will buy both dvds for sure!
